I would like to start off with a quick I can not wait to come back to this establishment to try more foods! However the papi chulo plate was a very close second. The only reason we placed it in second is because of the sirloin steak. It was ordered as medium which was in fact executed perfectly however, the outside of the steak had a hard black char on it that was not flavorful whatsoever. I've let some burnt things slide before but that one was on another level of charred. Other than that the rest of the plate was fantastic and so where the other meals. Another thing I would like to mention is that the food not only looks super appetizing but it is extremely filing. If you aren't a heavy eater you could probably get away with an appetizer (such as the nachos) or you can choose an entree and be done with it. I was with a group of 20 ladies and we were able to sit in a room in the back and enjoy fellowship. I ordered the Puente salad with chicken. It was delicious and it was a very generous portion. I must say what completely stood out about the experience was our phenomenal server, Alex. I have to tell you I can't remember the last time. I had such a great server. He was funny, attentive, efficient, and on his game. If I owned a restaurant, I would want every server to be and Alex. On a side note. The showstoppers were the steak and cheese empanadas, wow cheesy and flaky, probably best empanadas I've ever had 5 stars for that. My husband enjoyed his papi chulo meal, it's huge! I tried the chicharronnes and it was good! For my meal, I had the eggs benedict, the eggs were perfectly gooey, the flavor was good and the bread was nice and fluffy. Thr plantain crusted fish and chips were also very good- wish a smidge more crispy but loved the idea of plantains- never had that before! Thr coleslaw was also good and honestly I loved the tartar sauce lol I'm picky with that and this was so bright and was so good with the fish. We ended with thr flan dessert (they don't have a dessert menu but give you a verbal run down) and this was incredible. Perfect texture and the caramel sauce was thin like water yet somehow had the best flavor. 10/10. Would 100% go back, can't wait to try more things! I'd describe this place with one word: Amazing. This was our first visit, we heard great things from others and finally made a trip to check it out. Service was great, our waitress was Bree. We ordered the trufflings as an appetizer, for main dishes we ordered the papi chulo, and Lucy's plate(?) sofrito, rice, chicken and kielbasa. We also ordered maduros. Everything was seasoned perfectly and taste fresh. We could taste the food quality which was refreshing. I can keep going. Puente Pub was great! Vibe is cool and inviting. The hostess brought out crayons to make our son feel more comfortable. Food was great and came out quickly. We got the kid's bowl, the octopus app, the chorizo-stuffed mushrooms, the Argentinian burger, and the burro. The burro is BOGO on Tuesdays, which was a nice surprise! Everything was delicious. My family and I tried Puente this past weekend after hearing so many great things. And there were many positives. Love the decor and open space. Attentive and knowledgeable waitress. The cocktails were all good. I especially recommend the fruit basket. The pork belly, and octopus appetizers were amazing, both a must try! One of my family members ordered the braised short ribs as his main dish, and thought it was pretty decent. My mom ordered the papi chulo plate as her main dish and enjoyed it. I ordered the Lucy's plate licking chicken & sausage rice. The rice in the dish was flavorful and delicious. And a couple flans for dessert which were tasty. The only two negatives. We ordered the taquitos which were beautifully presented but had no flavor. The chicken and sausage in my main dish lacked flavor as well. Overall we had pretty decent meals and drinks. Amazing find! Delicious food, friendly people, great waitstaff. Took a chance with no reservation on a Saturday and it was early enough we got seated right away. Reservations definitely recommended, however they have a beautiful bar if you need to wait. We can't say enough about the quality of the food. Started with taquitos which were amazing and served on a bed of real (delicious) guacamole with a side of pico. Main courses were Puente Carne Asada and El Burro. The carne was cooked perfectly (as ordered) and came with a well-portioned and delicious serving of arroz con bacon (the waitress recommended side). The El Burro was amazing - steak, peppers and onions wrapped in a tortilla and served with guacamole and a pico salad. Finally, the Flan was delicious and ended a great meal. The pictures do not do justice to the food and the presentation. The service was excellent and food was served very quickly. They were also very accommodating with food allergies. Ok the Maduros (sweet plantains) we're amazing! The waitress didn't know what maduros were. Arroz con bacon, lacking. Not a lot of flavor or seasoning. The Pork Pincho was dry. "Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens and Staten From the Battery to the top of Manhattan Asian, Middle-Eastern and Latin Black, White, New York you make it happen" (Beastie Boys) Remember the old Taprock Beer Pub in Unionville? That space now houses the Puente American-Latino Pub, and we checked out their Happy Hour tonight. Their Happy Hour is available Tues-Fri from 3-5pm. HH food choices include four items - a beef slider ($3), a chicken taco ($3), a Margherita Empanada ($3), and Rommus (a Spanish inspired hummus) for $5. We ordered all four of them. HH beverage choices include six items - 2 beers, 3 cocktails and a Sangria ranging from $4 to $8. We went with two Narragansett beers at $4 apiece. Of the four food items we sampled. The beef slider was hands down the very very best. It was fantastic! Slightly salty, slightly smoky, slightly charred, tender and juicy with a great roll, it was everything that makes a hamburger delicious. The Margherita Empanada was a good portion of cheese and tomato sauce in the usual pastry shell. The chicken taco was a ribbon of diced meat and sauce over a flour tortilla. If you are "spicy sensitive", beware this has a minor kick to it. Both the empanada and taco were fine, but ran a poor second to that fantastic beef slider. Now when I was checking out the HH menu, I was stumped by the word "Rommus". The menu explained it was a hummus of Romesco and chickpeas, but I didn't know what Romesco was. So I Googled it and learned it was a classic Spanish sauce made from olive oil, almonds and pine nuts. It was very good and was served with a generous portion of taro chips, plantain chips, and crostinis. I wish there was more of that Rommus, because I thought the "dipper to dipee" ratio was off a bit. Our server, Ashley had a great personality and was excellent; checking back on us frequently. The atmosphere at the bar and in the dining room was fine- there was horn driven Spanish music all night. Bottom line is we had a very enjoyable HH experience with 2 beers, and 4 small plates for under $24 before tip. That made us pretty Happy! read more

We had a really enjoyable time here on Friday night. Our waitress Brittany was amazing. Cheeky, engaging, attentive - all of my favorite qualities in a waitress. She really did help to make the experience more enjoyable. The restraint was adorable. I loved the decor and general 'feel' of the space. Andddd the food and drinks were tasty! Their sangria was a bit drier and not as sweet as other sangrias I've had but it was good. My husband had a mango margarita and Smokey margarita. The mango margarita was delicious!! Last night my bestie took me to Puente for my birthday! Neither of us had been there yet, but had heard such good things about it. We got there just in time to order apps and drinks from the happy hour menu and were not disappointed! We loved our apps and the drinks were perfect! We decided to share 2 entrees. Spontaneously stopped for dinner one evening. Never have been, but I have driven by many times. Thought would stop in and see what it was all about. Was very happy to see it is veteran owned. Walked in and the ambience was very nice and spacious. Was seated right away and given water right away and a server came over and answered some questions we had we ordered the fish tacos, which is on the appetizer, but can be a meal, the food came out within a reasonable time and it was fabulous. I am new to eating and liking fish tacos and these were very good and had a very nice flavor to them. We will be returning in the near future and trying more items. Our first time here and we were impressed! We've seen a few businesses turn over in this building living close by, and finally gave Puente a try. The appetizers came out very quickly and were steaming hot and delicious! While we waited 30+ minutes after for our entrees, they were all hot and fresh upon arrival with every bite of fish, chicken and ribs so juicy and tender. What a nice place to hang out or for date nite. The food was delicious. I had the carne asada which was really good. My wife had the mash yuca, it has a good flavor but the yuca was kinda dry.
