Save your money and go to a half decent gym like Asana, Or Blink. Just a few miles away there are Workout anytime and EnerGym Jax. Cheaper and wayyy better.

Fitness by Fronk also offers Kinstretch, Circuits and Unlimited Classes as well as unique personal fitness assessments like (1) the functional movement screen and (2) Titleist Performance Screen for golfers. This personalized training offered by a young staff of Certified Personal Trainers, Nutrition Specialists and CrossFit Coaches is pricy but well worth exploring if you are seeking one-on-one and/or small group training shadowed and directed by a Certified Trainer. I was fortunate to meet with Tammy who explained to me that all the Certified Personal Trainers are independent consultants and work with members individually to develop packages that help them further their fitness and nutrition goals. Tammy also gave me a tour of the studio which is equipped IMO with the bare essentials like dumbbell racks, bench press benches, treadmills, gym rings- probably more stuff but those are the items that stood out. This is a very unique personal fitness studio model which differs from my experiences with other fitness centers and gyms. They make it difficult to end the membership even without a contract and if by any chance you don't do everything to the last step of their instructions if payments miss they will charge several fees that will mount to 2x to 3x the monthly.

Asana bills itself as a wellness center and I am not sure why, however, they are a nice gym. They have good hours, although they recently changed them. I went four times during my free week pass and it was never busy. I did go during the middle of the day, but other local gyms have more traffic at midday then Asana. The locker rooms are pretty well kept. You don't need a lock as all lockers have a personal code you can choose. It seemed clean, but I did notice there are no facial tissues. Now, this isn't a deal breaker, but if you want to stop the spread of germs it is a good idea to have some tissue boxes spread through the gym so you can sneeze or cough into. There is a sauna and several shower stalls to use. I did not use them, but they seemed like the were clean and in working order. The gym itself seems very new. The free weight area is large and well organized. They have barbells that go fairly high. The circuit machines are plentiful and it seemed like they have most of the most popular machines. I did notice that there is no squat rack inside. That is a pretty big and glaring missing piece of equipment. Outside they have an artificial turf area where you can squat, deadlift, etc, but it is a bit cramped as it is underneath metal stairs. If you want to do a standing shoulder press you have to move as the stairs are right above you. Not a deal breaker, but a bit strange considering there is no squat rack. Outside they have some old large tires. You can use them for pyrometric jumps or you flip them. They also have sledgehammers so that you can swing and hit the tires to work out your core. They have a push and a pull sled and about 30 feet to use for that. I thought it was ample space. They used to have a spin room for classes, but it has been converted now. It now houses more free weights, smith machines, and benches. The membership rates seemed very fair to me. There were three tiers. Just the gym, gym and two amenities, and gym and all amenities. The cheapest tier is about $10, then $20, then $30. You can also pay in full to lock in a rate. The rates seem pretty good, but having been around a lot of gyms and reading other reviews has me wondering. Many people complain about cancelling their membership or being contacted to show up. I hate dealing with membership services for something that should be simple, but then again I do not have any first hand experience with that as I came in as a guest. All in all the gym is pretty good. A few strange choices in terms of machines or placement, but nothing terrible. Besides Mia I thought customer service was pretty okay. Mia at the front desk is super helpful and nice.

I first came in back in April 2012 as hesitant because I was honestly scared of intimidating work outs, will I look like a fool, and will I fall over for not being able to do the work outs. I loved the friendly staff and owners that I met on my first day in! They greeted me with open arms and helped me realized my health goals and what I need to achieve these goals. The workouts are GREAT! Every week is a different routine and they throw finishers too at the end of every workout. If you can't do a certain circuit due to injuries, they also offer modifications and work with you. They've now added BOXING!! Boxing is now my favorite part! Great cardio workout, help build stamina, and build self confidence too. The trainers & staff are great!! They're a fun, outgoing, and respectful group of individuals who push you to strive harder. I've lost more than 20lbs and counting! I'm more confident in myself, feel great, my asthma hasn't been a nuisance, and the trainers have also helped me find ways to ease my plantar faciitis. My goal is to fit nicely (and not bulging) in my new size 8 clothes, and maybe even get into a size 6...but it's not just about the sizes, it's leading a healthy lifestyle and enjoying my workouts at ABP. I hate to move at the end of the year after I get married back to California...I wish I can take ABP & the great staff with me! I need to hit the lotto so that can encourage them to come out hahaha!
