The staff were super friendly and the food came out fairly quick after ordering. You go up to the counter and place your order for take out or dine in. It's a casual atmosphere with nice energy that connects you to Thai culture. The interior decor was reminiscent of what you'd find while out getting street food in Thailand. We ordered Pad Thai (fried tofu, no beans sprouts) and fried rice (fried tofu) with a Thai tea that was super rich and sweet. All of our food and drink were super delicious. I recommend.
Degthai is one of my very favorite easy dinners out. The art throughout gives it a great vibe and they have both indoor and outdoor seating options (the outdoor is even covered now). I am not going to lie parking is rough but you don't have to pay and it is totally worth it. Service has always been quick and they take their time while checking you out to make sure you get what you want. My favorites are the red curry and pad Thai. I always order mine on the spicier side but chat with them to figure out what is best for you!
Overall: I love Degthai! Yay for Thai food - ohmygosh, it just HITS. Got the Pad Thai, Red Curry, and green thai tea! From the flavors to the portions, it is so so good and I almost wish I could gatekeep this place. I have literally eaten here twice in a row and I can't wait to go back again. Service: Quick to order and there's always plenty of seating! Ambiance: I love the decor of the restaurant, they have a bunch of Thailand inspired stuff inside. There's also very nice outdoor seating on the patio.
The locals (aka my brother and his roommates) brought me to this Thai place when I said I wanted something good. This place did not disappoint! The food came out quick, hot and plentiful. My pad Thai had some big shrimp which was a nice change from the tiny ones most restaurants serve these days. The noodles had nice flavor and were very filling. I had enough leftovers for a whole other meal! I would definitely come back to get a pad Thai fix.
A few times a year I find a place that deserves more than 5 stars Degthai is one of those spots. Parking lot was small but I got lucky. You enter and immediately go right. They have a pile of menus and you have all the time You want to review and decide. And, it's a nice simple menu. Not an overwhelming amount of choices. I like that. You then proceed to the counter to order. I got mine to go but same process for eat in. After you order, they give you a stand with a number card that you place on your table. The order came out pretty quickly even though the place was jammin'. I got spring rolls, dumplings and the OG Pad Thai and had them add chicken. The spring rolls were 4/5. The dumplings were 8/5. The pad Thai was 10/5. ;-) The pad Thai was loaded with 5 jumbo shrimp and quite a bit of chicken. I ordered it hot but would go next level of if I ever get back. They served with a small packet of pepper powder. Not sure what it was. The bean sprouts are served on the side with 2 limes. And honestly, there was no room in the pad Thai container to add them because it was such a generous portion! Highly highly recommend!!
Go ahead and believe the hype. Degthai is that good. Besides its almost perfect rating on Yelp, it has won the top spot in Yelp's Top 100 Places to Eat. The service is friendly (order at the counter and they will swiftly bring it to the table and ask if you need anything else). The vibe is hip Bangkok club house (if there is such a thing). The food is exceptional and damn if the portions aren't big enough for 2 or 3 meals, depending on your hunger level, surely a rarity anywhere the food is actually good these days. Normally when I see only one vegan option, I'm a little bummed out, even if sometimes decision fatigue can be a thing at places with multiple options. But when you do one vegan (entree) option and that vegan option is extraordinary... who the eff cares? The Tiew Gang Vegan is an enormous bowl of creamy, slightly spicy (not spicy enough for me, but they have an array of chili options on the table, including my fave, hot chili flakes in oil) coconutty goodness. It's packed with tofu, mushrooms, broccoli, bok choy and cauliflower, topped with green onions. Utterly heavenly. We also ordered the crispy tofu, also incredible. A large app, plenty to share and irresistable with its cucumber salad, sweet and sour sauce and chopped peanuts. I left Degthai obsessed. That's right. I can't get it out of my head. I may even be losing sleep over it. I can't stalk it because I live several states away. But I'm plotting a return...
Degthai has been on my radar since I moved to Tennessee, and it definitely did not disappoint. It's a casual, street-style Thai spot where you order at the counter, grab a seat, and they bring the food out to you. There's plenty of space to sit and free parking, which is always a plus. The menu is small but solid, making it easy to choose. We did family style and tried a few things: the classic chicken pad thai (my favorite as a pad thai lover- so good), the red curry over white rice which was perfection, and fried rice that goes with everything. We also ordered Jay's Special since it was something new to us, and wow. Spicy, sweet, and savory stir-fry chicken over cucumber salad with rice... so good. They are also very accommodating with vegetarian and gluten free options, that way almost everyone can enjoy their dishes without sacrificing flavor and quality. Kudos to their staff, so friendly, so kind! Everything was a hit. Definitely recommend.!
Yelp's Top 100 places to Eat in the US winner? You better believe it! I am so glad I got to try out Degthai while visiting Nashville in the company of their lovely community manager, Bailey. This was the very first place we went after my plane touched down, and it was the perfect spot. The menu is unique and interesting without their being an overbearing amount of choices. From what I tasted, there probably isn't a bad item. We got some dumplings in spicy oil to share, because if you threaten me with dumplings, you can rest assured I will rise to the occasion. They were awesome. Dough was just the right texture, meaty filling full of interesting flavor and hearty, spicy oil leaves a little burn for later. To be honest, I'm no longer sure of the name of the dish i got for lunch... the flavors live rent free in my head forever though. Spicy, a little sour (in a good way), aromatic, and the meats were all tender. This place reminds me of a spot I have at home, that anytime I want to scratch an itch for this particular cuisine, I'm likely going there because it can't miss. If I lived in Nashville, I would be certain to be here a lot. Thanks Degthai!
Degthai is not food, it's an event, a problem, and a personal attack on my health goals. This place has never fumbled. Not once. No mid dishes. No "it was good but ". Just nonstop excellence and reckless portions like they're trying to see how far they can push the human body. The service? Michelin star energy with "we know exactly what you want before you do" confidence. The food? Absolutely unhinged. The curries? Life altering. The Pad Thai? Illegal in several countries. The rolls and dumplings? I've accepted they now live rent free in my bloodstream. I blame Degthai entirely for my cholesterol, my BMI, and my inability to eat like a normal adult. Every time I eat here I start considering learning their language, changing my personality, and rethinking my entire cultural allegiance. That's how powerful this food is. People say "Nashville has great food," which is usually a bold lie told by people who haven't traveled. But Degthai? Degthai makes that lie sound believable. Briefly. I will keep coming back. I will keep pretending I'm "just grabbing something light." And Degthai will keep ruining my life in the best possible way.
Very good spot. Cute building, a few gluten-free options (pad Thao, two curries), friendly service, fun decor, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Parking is limited but we went early, no problem. We both ordered the Pad Thai and liked it, but found it a bit limited compared with other Thai spots we're used to that include more variety. It was a bit one note - just dense noodles that solidify into a block and a bit of veg, not enough other things mixed it like spring onions or whatnot. Good but could be great with minor tweaks.
5 stars every time from me. I love DegThai. Their location is so cute and the patio area has a really nice vibe with the lights. Their menu is limited, but they know how to execute everything with so much flavor and the perfect amount of spice. Their Pad Thai is the best I've had in Nashville so far and the Red Curry is my favorite. Tried their Green Thai tea which not many places have and it's so great!! Will always pay DegThai a visit when I'm craving some Thai food.
Stopped by Thursday for dinner. Pretty tasty food...._a tad salty for me but seasoned well. I had the OG shrimp Pad Thai. Thin noodles soaked up all the flavorful sauce and the large shrimp made the dish. All the ingredients created a balance of flavor. The street dumplings were filled with pork and some vegetables. The tasted pretty good. The spring rolls were hot and crispy. My friends enjoyed the food they had ordered. I tried the soup and it had a distinct lemongrass taste. The lemon really made the soup delish. The place was clean and has many tables and chairs for patrons. It was consistently busy as we dined in whether people were ordering take out or enjoying a meal inside. The service was on point. Our food came out very quickly after we ordered and the servers were constantly cleaning up and attending to us. I would come back to try other entrees and sides on the menu. We had a great time.
I will always crave Degthai! This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city, and there's a reason it's one of Nashvilles top restaurants year after year. The spice level is no joke if you're sensitive to spice (I am..lol), so I always order a level down from what I think I'd want, and if I want it more spicy then I add the spice from the table. I love having all the spices and things at the table to try and mix in myself. A great quick bite or even date night on the patio when the weather is nice.

Food We tried the OG Pad Thai, Kra Prao Moo Kai Doo, steamed dumplings, and Thai Ice Green Tea. Everything was exceptional! For the Kra Prao Moo Kai Doo, the Minced pork was very moist with plenty of flavor. There was a ton of rice served with it lol. I went with no spice and I felt like I could've went with mild or medium. The Thai Ice Green Tea was smooth and silky. Wish I would've gotten a second one! Service This was great, also! They were bringing out our food while we still trying to figure out what fountain drink to get. Everything was piping hot and the presentation is was incredible! Ambiance It's quite open inside. Some of the tables are directly under vents so be mindful of that of you are sensitive to cold air. You walk in and go to the right and forward to grab and menu and order at the counter. For my first visit to Degthai, I ordered the vegan Tiew Gang noodles and it was phenomenal. The base of vegetable broth mixed with coconut milk was creamy yet not heavy (with a blend of yellow and red curry spices, according to the menu -- sadly I am not that well versed in curries!). The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the tofu was browned to perfection. The grilled broccoli and cauliflower were snappy and contrasted well with the rest of the ingredients. The dish had a spicy yet tolerable kick to it, but I have a very high threshold for spice and heat (I added chili oil to take it up a notch!). Also, the portion size is BIG. I was very hungry so I had no issues finishing most of it, but it could easily be shared between two adults, especially if you order an appetizer or side. I loved the interior decor, which was simple yet eye catching. The mural encompassing the entire space in particular looked really cool. The place was packed, but the friendly staff were hustling to keep the line moving. read more

I was missing the Asian cuisine in California, so I decided to try DegThai based on recommendations from a few friends in the area. Let me tell you--I wasn't disappointed! First things first, DegThai at lunch time on Veterans Day was HOPPING! Parking was full and I had to park in their overflow lot in the back. It's the gravel lot behind the paved lot. Signage was helpful! Secondly, the food came out SO fast! I ordered the crispy spring rolls, which were super yummy. The black pepper chicken stood out, and the sweet dipping sauce complemented the crispy spring rolls nicely. Between placing my order and having my food arrive, only about 8 minutes passed. I ordered the Tian Gang Vegan but I subbed the tofu for chicken. It was delicious! Just enough spice to make me sniffle but steaming hot with coconut curry broth and ramen noodles. The bok choy and the mushrooms complemented the flavors and textures well. My entire meal was $27, and I had a whole portion that I took to go. I felt like that was a great deal for Asian food in the area that is as scrumptious as DegThai. I definitely recommend you check DegThai out! I will be back. read more
I was in the area for an event, so I was unfamiliar with good places to eat. As a yelp reviewer, I searched online for recommended restaurants. Degthai seemed to be well liked by many. I had no idea what I was going to order on the menu, when I entered the establishment. But, I wanted to give it a try because I love Thai food. At first glance, I was kind of set back by the prices. They seemed high and didn't offer any lunch specials. I ended up ordering Jay's special. It was an extremely huge portion when I received my entrée. I was full, after eating only half of the entree. But, I'm telling you, that food was so scrumptious! I almost forced myself to eat every bite. I will be going out of my way to eat at this place more often, and I will be telling all my friends to try it out too. I do want people to know when you are choosing your meal, to keep in mind that you'll be eating it later that day or the next day too. The price is really for two meals. I'm gathering another reason for the price is that they do not skimp on ingredients. My entree had A LOT of chicken. The line was almost out the doorway. I asked some patrons if they had eaten there before, and they replied all the time. I can almost guarantee who ever eats here will be a returning customer. One complaint is... No smaller portions offered at a lower price. read more

The atmosphere is lively. The staff is responsive and friendly. The guest is here for one thing and that is some good Thai food. This is my second time visiting and I promise you that it makes me want to visit this place even more. Too bad I don't live in Nashville. I took my little brother here and he used to live in Thailand. His response to me was that this place tastes just like the food you would get in Thailand. So we both give it a stamp of approval. read more
I recently tried Degthai and while it seems to be a Nashville fan favorite, my experience was just okay. I ordered Jay's special rice, dumplings, and spring rolls. The dumplings were definitely the highlight--flavorful and satisfying. The portion sizes were generous, so you do get a lot of food for the price, which is a plus. However, the rice was pretty mediocre and didn't stand out, and the spring rolls were unfortunately overcooked. Overall, it's not a bad spot, but it didn't quite live up to the hype for me. read more

Had lunch here recently with family. I really enjoyed my meal. Two of us had the chicken green curry. I had ordered mild and my cousin ordered medium. I think they got switched as mine had quite the kick. The lady who delivered the food had no idea on the level of spice in either. Even though it was a bit too spicy for me, the flavor was wonderful. Loved the mushrooms in it. My cousin's son had the KRA PRAO MOO KAI DAO: stir fry with minced pork, holy basil, garlic & Thai chili pepper then top with Thai fry egg. He really liked this, especially with the egg on top. The place is very casual. Order at the counter and they bring your food. Overall a really nice meal. read more
This Thai place started as a food truck then moved into a brick and mortar building. Yelp named it 45 out of the best 100 restaurants in 2024 and Nashville Scene gave it 'Best Thai' 2024. The building isn't much to look at, but the food definitely makes up for it. They have counter service, so you order at the counter- They give you a number then you sit where you want and they bring the food to you. The food usually comes out quickly. They serve several Apps, Fried Rice, Curries, Noodles, Coffee and Teas.The food comes in large portions so you will probably have leftovers to take home. They have different spice levels and they also have a Spice tray on the tables that offer 4 more Spicy complimentary options. They have free parking with some umbrella covered tables outdoors. They do have Vegan and Vegetarian options. We've tried just about everything on the menu and it's all good, but the standouts to me are the Chicken Green Curry, Tiew Tom Yum Goong and the Street Dumplings. I highly recommend this place next time your looking for some delicious Thai food. Enjoy read more
This has and will continue to be my favorite Thai restaurant in Nashville. Whenever I am in town this is the place I stop at. It's even better when I don't have the option to dine in every week. This visit I order a little bit of everything Tom Yum soup, fried rice and pad Thai. Everything was delicious and flavorful just as I remembered. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. There is plenty of tables to dine in with family or friends. The restaurant stays busy so it makes you feel like you are dining in a food hall which I appreciate the vibe. First Thai restaurant in Nashville and did not disappoint! Large portion and lots of protein. I got a medium spice level but it didn't taste spicy. Flavorful and savory. Loved my Green Thai Tea as well. Thai coffee here tastes just the same as Vietnamese Coffee. Total price with pad Thai and green Thai tea was $24 before tip and tax. read more

The best Thai food, plenty of seating, and the food comes out hot and fresh! I do wish their spicy pad Thai had a little more of a kick to it, but the chilis on the table help add a little more spice. Can't recommend this spot enough! read more

I can see why this place is so highly recommended. The biggest nightmare is parking. It was PACKED. There was no parking in the lot attached to the restaurant or their overflow parking spaces. I had to drive around for about 15 minutes before being able to secure parking. Once inside, the line to place my order was pretty long. But I was truly so excited to try the food that I waited in line. There were tons of indoor and outdoor seating. It is not really a traditional "sit-down" restaurant but there is ample seating for dining in. I ordered the spring rolls, shrimp fried rice, and dumplings. EVERYTHING WAS SO DELICIOUS and hot. The spring rolls were nice and crunchy with a sweet duck sauce. The sauce that surrounded the dumplings was so tangy and umami -- I wanted to take it home as a side. I also enjoyed the shrimp fried rice which included a nice serving of eggs (which I loved). The shrimp and rice could have used a bit more seasoning, but it was still very delicious and filling. My mouth is salivating just thinking back to the meal. I can't wait to go back and try other menu items. read more

The best Thai street food I've had in Nashville - with yummy fried rice, pad Thai, dumplings, spring rolls, etc. The Jay's Special is my favorite meal on the menu, with the perfect amount of flavor and spice, and an incredible sauce to soak the rice, chicken, and cucumber salad in. Service is order at the counter, and came out very quick to the table. The employees make sure you get what you need! Great, face paced atmosphere with lots of seating, indoor and outside. read more

This is probably my favorite Thai restaurant at the moment! I got the red curry and also fried rice and shared with a friend. It was incredibly flavorful and it was perfectly seasoned. The portions were also very large! The price is a little bit on the higher end, but I think it is worth it because for most people it could probably last two servings! I think anything on the menu would be delicious! The environment was fun and can tell people love being here. I would highly recommend this restaurant to others! You order at the front and then they bring the food to your table. You can also get different sauces to put in your food as well. The restrooms were ok but not noticeably dirty. Overall, I would give this restaurant a solid 5/5 stars! I feel like it's been a while since I have been able to confidently give a restaurant 5! Next time I am in Nashville I would love to be able to stop by again! read more

Excellent! The Tiew Tom Yum Goong was phenomenal. Piping hot with so much flavor. The hot and sourness of this soup was a dynamic inner warmth for the cold weather. There were plenty of large shrimp in there too. With the large crowd eating inside and street-style decor, it really did feel a bit like Thailand! read more

Back here Nashville and had to once again come to Degthai. Must say all the people who work there are so friendly. The food here is absolutely amazing! Been to Thailand and this for sure makes me feels like I'm having real Thai food. The Tom Yum Goong soup has so much flavor. The broth is so soothing! Look forward to next time already. read more
This place had great reviews so decided to check out during my visit to Nashville. It did not disappoint! My fiancé ordered the OG Shrimp Pad Thai and it was real rich, and full of flavor. I had the chicken fried rice and it was just a solid classic. I loved adding the chili crisp oil on the tail for a little spicy kick. Fair warning, the food portions are huge. They even have a mountain of to-go boxes because it's so luv food per serving. Also really LOVED the Thai iced tea. You order at the counter and then they'll bring the food out to your table. Lastly, I really appreciated the gorgeous wall paper and signs on the wall. read more
Came here while on a trip, it is a well decorated and clean restaurant and the staff were friendly. I ordered the classic pad Thai and it was yummy! I did think it was missing some type of vegetable or peanuts, but other than that it was great! read more

Akshay with Offline - Degthai in Brentwood is clearly a local favorite -- and for good reason. Even close to closing time, people just keep walking in. It's always busy, and that alone says a lot. What's interesting is that despite the crowd, the restaurant operates without the traditional host/hostess setup. You simply order at the counter and then grab a table. It may feel different for those used to full-service restaurants, but it works surprisingly well here. The menu itself is not huge, but everything on it feels intentional. We started with their street dumplings, which were absolutely delicious -- perfectly seasoned and full of flavor. We then tried the Kra Prad Moo Kai Dad with chicken (their take on basil chicken), the chicken red curry, and the Tiew Gang Vegan ramen-style noodles. All three dishes were excellent. The flavors were bold and authentic, the portions generous, and the quality consistent across every plate. Service was fast despite the crowd, and the restaurant was clean and well-maintained. The only challenge here is table availability, especially during busy hours -- so be prepared to either wait or get lucky. Overall, Degthai delivers great food, efficient service, and a lively atmosphere. I genuinely enjoyed everything we ordered and look forward to visiting again. Highly recommended if you're in the area and craving flavorful Thai cuisine. read more
