This shop is quite incredible! Nestled in the outdoor Barnard Shopping Village in Carmel, Deja Vu Couture Collects and showcases hundreds of beautiful, well preserved, and timeless vintage pieces... mostly for women, though a bit for men. I stopped in unexpectedly on a casual trip. I was astonished by the number of beautiful and well kept items of clothing: leather pants/skirts/jackets, silk and lace tops, fur coats, sequined & knit blazers, shoes and bags and belts of all assortments! Most of the items in the store were designer labels... and most vintage 20-40yrs old. There were some very beautiful more modern pieces as well, but they were certainly not the majority. The staff were incredibly patient and friendly, they let my friend and I browse and enjoy the experience of rifling through so much fashion history undisturbed, but were available the moment we wanted assistance. It was truly the best of both worlds! And the prices! I found two pieces, a silk top and a leather skirt, that I was incredibly excited about and very eager to purchase! I went to the register and discovered that they were actually on sale & 10-30% less expensive than the labels claimed. With the new prices, I consider both items to have been a steal! If you love vintage clothing -- either for sentimental reasons, or for the actual sartorial value of your day-to-day life -- I highly recommend stopping by Deja Vu Couture if you're ever in Carmel! read more

This is the kind of place you find and want to keep a secret because it's so so special. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by Golnesa, and made to feel welcome. She was always available if we had questions but didn't hover at all. Even if we hadn't found anything to buy, it would've been worth coming just for how fun it was to look at all the treasures and how relaxing it was to be in the shop. How many stores can you truly say that about nowadays? I found a beautiful Celine blouse for an amazing price that will be a staple in my closet forever. My boyfriend found an Italian suit, Armani pants, and wool suit jacket for a steal. This store had one of the best men's selections out of any consignment store I've been to. The gorgeous well-organized selection is as nice as I've experienced in a consignment boutique, the beautiful items countless and the owner a true gem of a human. Golnesa really is a joy to work with, she has a passion for what she does and it comes across as she was more than happy to help me find what I was looking for. I ended up buying a pair of beautiful shoes, ones I usually would not have purchased but she pointed them out and was right, they are quickly becoming some of my favorites. I've always been a lover of 'pre-owned' clothing. The uniqueness, and quality of clothing that I find in consignment stores is so amazing. Deja Vu is absolutely my FAVORITE consignment store! The merchandise is always fresh and current (which is saying a lot for a consignment!) and totally affordable. BUT... My most FAVORITE part about Deja Vu is the personal shopping aspect! Golnesa, the owner, will come to your home and give your closet an update, and style you with what you already have, and then fill in the missing pieces when things come into the store! Came here to praise my experience with Deja Vu under the new owner and was surprised to see the one star review just before mine. It seems petty to review a business three years after an incident when the reviewer admits the business has changed hands; not just petty but perhaps libelous. I don't know if it's true that this shop does not carry a lot of plus sizes; it is a pre-owned clothing boutique and is limited, I suppose, to the sizes worn by consignors as well as its reputation for selling higher end clothing. Perhaps that demographic doesn't exist in Carmel. What I have found is that the new owner is very knowledgeable about fashion and even keeps a 'wishlist' on file for customers. I just purchased four NEW cashmere sweaters for a fraction of retail for an upcoming trip and her stock of ST JOHN seems endless! No need to damage this owners reputation for a perceived slight that happened years ago. This store has been here over two decades; they are doing something right! I made an appt. to consign items here, & then made an appt. to pick up my items that didn't sell, and pick up a check. On both occasions, the owner seemed surprised and rather put out that I was there for an appt., even though I had made an appt. with her. While she was initially sorting through my consignments, I was waiting & she told me to not stand there with her (so rude!) In every situation, she made me feel very unwelcome and awkward. I really felt like reminding her that without my consignments, & other people's, she wouldn't have much of a business. I, too felt that the 60/40 split was not good. However, if I would have been treated with dignity, the 60/40 split wouldn't have been an issue. I won't be consigning my designer clothes here again. It was not a good experience. Deja Vu offers high end clothing, shoes and accessories at reasonable prices. Most of the clothing is in good condition so that it is not obvious that it has been worn or used before. I found a lovely pair of Ferragamo heels in a color that was not available in retail stores and matched my dress perfectly. A classic black wool pencil skirt from Germany was in perfect condition and very inexpensive. This is a great place to shop before heading to the department stores: much better quality at affordable prices. read more

The experience was just awesome all together, from when you walk in until you exit. First, Covid-guidelines were followed and that's a plus in book. Very nice staff with great customer service. The steam experience was worth it. It's like rejuvenation for your lady part's and the inner you. The colorful fruit platter with different varieties of fruit and champagne was the icing on the cake for me and my BFf and sister to feel pampered. The mood was very smooth and serene with jazz music playing in the background; even though we had our choice of other genres. Toiletries to freshen up at the end were provided and a beautiful gift of yanni soap as well. I will do more than recommend this place to people. I will try to push people in the door. It's a great experience for women and ladies to renew you and go have some girl time.
