Paid extra to get an appointment with Giselle since she is a master lash stylist and I wanted a natural look. Although she was so nice and made sure to ask me lots of questions, the end results were not flattering. When she first showed the lashes to me after she was done my first thought was - "Wow... They are really long". But I thought that's just because I wasn't used to having anything on my eyes and decided not to think anything of it. Later in the day, when I met up with my sister and mother they immediately commented on how unflattering the lashes were to my eye shape. I also saw my friends that night who said the lashes made me look "trashy". I went and the person I had had been doing lashes for less than a year. Tall tale sign. I wasn't happy with them. I cannot love this place more. I've tried everything - mascara, lash lift, lash tint, you name it and it's not as good as the service I get here. My lashes come out PERFECT every. Single. Time! They have an amazing staff who are very accommodating and understanding, especially during pandemic times. Karen is a lash superstar. She has hands steadier than any surgeon I know. Things to expect - if this is your first time, they have some deals, ask for them. I would recommend showering before you go, since you should not have steam on your new lashes for at least a day. When you show up, the appointments will last a while. Think 1-2 hours. It's one of the few places I know where you can fall asleep during your appointment. Again, don't get the lashes wet for at least a day. That's the hardest part. Also, if you're used to rubbing your eyes like I was, I had to learn real fast never to touch my eyes, basically ever. I had the service done and had severe eye pain right after the job was done. The next day I woke up with a eye infection that required ophthalmic drops to relieve redness and pain. This was my first time ever getting eyelash extensions, so I wasn't sure what to expect during my visit. I made my appointment the day before and when I got there Karen happily greeted me and made me feel welcomed. Once she brought me back to her station she explained everything from the different lengths, curl, and styles you could get for lashes and gave me her recommendations if what would work and look best on me. Since it was my first time we went with a much more natural look. Once we got started, Karen explained step by step what she was doing during the application process. It was a weird feeling, but she made the whole experience easy and painless. Overall, she finished my full set in less than 1.5 hours! My lashes are very short and straight naturally, but Karen was able to achieve the perfect look! It's subtle, but definitely makes my eyes pop. I've received many compliments at work about how great and natural they look! I normally don't wear any makeup and people keep asking if I am, which is nice since all I have to do is get out of bed and brush my teeth. It's been 5 days since the initial application and so far so good. There have been several lashes that have fallen out but I believe that's normal. It's definitely not enough where you can tell though which is great. I've followed all the instructions that Karen gave me so I'm hoping these will last the 2-3 weeks. The only thing I regret is not signing up for the membership because I missed out on the 50% off that they offer for first customers. I didn't sign up because I wasn't sure how the lashes would hold up and if they would be worth the money, but they definitely are! Highly recommend and recommend Karen. She's great! Also, there's plenty of street parking in front of Deka Lash, but I was told there's also a garage with an entrance that leads to Deka which is handy especially on rainy days. I got my eyelashes done so I could look nice for my baby shower. I am having 2 within 2 weeks of each other. The actual store itself is brand new in the mosaic district and it is beautiful. The chairs are comfy which is great for someone who is heavily pregnant. The staff was prompt and courteous and everything started off great. The stars are really for the service and atmosphere. I didn't get the length I wanted but they said they don't go beyond 3mm from your lash length although I know I've done longer at other places. The problem is the lashes. Before I left I went to the bathroom and 2 had already fallen off. Throughout the day more had fallen off. I quickly called them back and after some back and forth with the owner I made an appt for Sunday (after my first baby shower) for them fill it in. Again the experience was pleasant but the lashes started coming out in clumps. It has been 8 days since the fill in and all of the lashes are pretty much gone. So I won't have lavish lashes for my other shower this weekend. These lashes don't last which is crazy because I've had lashes last 3-4 weeks in the summer while I am in the ocean and the pool and sweating my ass off so for it to be so cool outside and for them to fall out is not normal. I don't know if it's the technique, lashes or glue but it's not worth spending all that money for a week and you have lashes all over your face. Too bad since they have a membership service that was reasonably priced where you come back every 2 weeks but with these lashes you need them because they will look horrible after a week. read more

This was my first time getting eyelash extensions. After doing a lot of research I decided to go with DekaLash and I have no regrets! Karen was my lash technician and she was super knowledgeable about lash lengths/curls from the beginning of our appointment. I explained to her what I wanted, somewhere in between a natural and glam look but leaning more towards natural. The appointment took about 1.5 hours and you just lay down the entire time with your eyes closed. I have very sensitive skin so I was worried I would have an issue with sensitivity or pain after they were finished, but I haven't had ANY issues. Very disappointed with lack of pricing transparency and customer service. This location has new customer pricing and existing customer pricing which I was unaware of. During my first 2 times here some how I was given the new customer price and came back a 3rd (assuming this was just regular price for the services). During check out , requested a receipt and was told to expect it via email. The expectation was that I just swiped my card and later get notice of what I'd just pay for. When I check my emails I was then charged 40$ (not including 30$ tip I left since I was UNAWARE of up charge) extra since that is the "regular price". I called back and wanted to have some clarification, why no receipt ?why no transparency on how much I was paying? The manager before I could explain was already finishing my sentences and assuming that I just never received a receipt (she wasn't listing). I had to repeat myself several times to even say how it all happened, she stated that it was unfair for them to request the same pricing as they had already done it twice, insinuating they had done me a favor. I was never asking for unfair pricing, I was asking for clarification and how due to their mistake I was led to believe these were the regular prices. I have no issue paying but as a customer, I should be able to A) see what I'm being charged for B) get a receipt when requested (not wait for email). Her response? Personally, when I'm lying down with my eyes closed, getting a treatment for 1+ hours, I want to feel that spa relaxation. I don't want to feel like I'm in a club, with music pounding. It seemed like the music was set for the technicians to enjoy their work day than for the clients getting the services. - Checkout experience was not good. Unprofessional front desk staff looking at their phones instead of truly engaging with me when I checked out. Front desk area was not tidy. -I was put on the spot about tipping even though I received a text about tipping before I even arrived at my appointment. Further discussion about it after my response made it more awkward. Pay your technicians their value and they won't have to rely on tips. I tipped $10, btw. I'm not cheap, it's just that I want it to be my decision based on my experience and not an expectation and I shouldn't be asked. -Was not told about the membership. Found out here on Yelp. -Under eye treatment was just pads I can buy for myself. I didn't need to pay $5 for them and to have someone put them on me. I thought it was more of a service. -One lash cluster fell off before I even got home, leaving a gap in the inner corner of one eye. It was not attached to one of my lashes which fell out naturally. It was by itself, like it didn't have enough glue and wasn't applied properly. I'm going to ask if I can come in today, to fix it. I'll update afterwards. I will be referring others. I wanted to give it a week before assessing the service. Pros: The establishment is very clean and stylish. The lash technicians seem very knowledgeable and helpful. I requested Doll style lashes with 10 and 11 mm lengths being the longest. The service took about 2 hours, most of which I was comfortably asleep. At the end I woke up to beautiful lashes. They also honor a current deal they have going on Groupon for about $69. Cons: The lashes seem to be applied very far down on the actual lash itself (noticed immediately after application, so there is no possibility that they have grown out). So from a distance they look great, but on a magnifying mirror it looks like they are glued hallway down the eyelash. These lashes do not retain well whatsoever. I do not use any make-up at all. I also use an oil free cleanser and moisturizer, not applied around my eyes. I also became even more vigilant and made sure to sleep on my back and took baths so shower steam would not loosen the glue. Nonetheless only about 25% of the lashes are left (if that). It looks like I have just random long sparse eyelash hairs. Despite the professionalism, I could not recommend this place to anyone especially if they were paying the full price for these. They are not worth it. A week later and I look crazy. The only good thing is in a couple of days these lashes will probably fall off too and I can just use mascara until I find a lash place here. read more
