I WISH I could give this studio a better review. Oh how I wish...but alas, I cannot :( I found them on Groupon while I was looking for a new lash studio and was excited that they were right up the street in my favorite shopping center, The Mosaic District in Merrifield. I'll take any excuse to go there! I purchased the Groupon to get me started, and the issues began with what I feel to be deceptive advertising. They advertise a $200 PLUS value for a classic full set, but when you look at their menu, that set is only $130. I asked them about this discrepancy and their response was somewhat manipulative. I felt like they were trying to give me the runaround. When the facts are that they are advertising value over $200 when what they are providing only costs 130. Which is basically what I was paying. So there was no value there. No savings. Then I had to reschedule due to a family emergency The Day Before my appointment. I did not cancel, I simply called and left a message to move the day and time. They don't answer their own phones. A studio in a Different location answers for them, IF anyone answers at all. So I ended up having to send an email and leave a voicemail just to make sure I was communicating with them and they didn't think I was blowing off my appointment. They acknowledged that they received all of my messages and yet they still charged my credit card for a late cancellation. When I called to discuss this with their manager, the manager then agreed to only refund half of the amount. At this point I was almost willing to just take my business elsewhere but I really wanted to give them a shot. I should have followed my gut. The studio itself is clean and well decorated. You feel girly and cute just walking in. The manager is who did my lashes and she seemed to really enjoy the job. Unfortunately it was a really painful experience. Something was stabbing me in my right eyeball throughout the process and for days after my eye was red and sore. Once I got to the register I did have an upcharge because of the confusion stated above and the value of the Groupon I purchased, but they kindly took around 50% off for me. The lashes were very abrupt. My boyfriend said that it looked like I had Charlie Chapman's mustache over each of my eyes. There was nothing tapered or natural about them. So when I returned for my fill, I asked for them to be a bit more natural looking. I did not return after that because I know that false lashes are supposed to come off when your natural lashes shed. That was not the case here. Almost every single one of these lashes came off individually. Meaning they came unglued. They didn't fall off with my natural lash. I really really wanted to like this place. The manager that did my lashes really seemed like she took pride in what she did and that she enjoyed all of it. The problem was with the process, the lashes themselves, and the way they handle their customer service. To me, it just isn't deserving of more than two stars. read more

I got lash extensions a couple of months ago. I now get lash lash lifts by my lash artist Karen & ever since then I always get them done by her. Every time I have an appointment with her she leaves my lashes looking fabulous. I would highly recommend her to everyone who is getting their lashes done here, she is extremely skilled and always makes sure I'm comfortable. I love this place. I got my lashes done for the first time ever here (I purchased a Groupon) and I've been going back to them ever since. Pros: great location in the Mosaic shopping district, where there is usually ample parking if you know where to find it. The shop is SO cute and clean-- small, private, and comfortable. Their membership service is totally worth it if you go consistently. The girls there are super nice (my girl is Amanda and she's like family to me now, LOL. I've also been to Bidisha and she's great as well). Amanda always listens to my requests, makes suggestions, and is knowledgeable. My lashes have always looked fantastic too... they shed normally and I haven't had a problem with losing them prematurely. Cons: The biggest con is the regular pricing. Super expensive (which is why I purchased the membership). There doesn't seem to be any hidden fees or anything like that (check the website) but if you aren't a member or using a Groupon be prepared to pay a pretty penny for a full set. Would not recommend this place for a lash lift!! My sister went and when she got back she had glue all over her lashes and eyelid that she couldn't get off. I've long been admiring the lash game of many of my friends. I'm an Army wife, mother of 3, working in a high risk medical field job with long hours, living in a hotel during a pandemic and in desperate need of some pampering. I just graduated from college (at 37!) and my graduation was cancelled due to COVID. Even so, our graduating class decided to have a gathering to recognize our achievements and pin our long awaited and earned pins. So, I have this super important milestone event on Friday (I made this review on Sunday) and wanted to really deck myself out in some glam lashes for the occasion. I've never done lashes before though I love makeup and love glam! I've been a patron of Mosaic since its founding and figured a business here would have all the customer service and quality I had grown accustomed to. I was happy to see the "Veteran owned and operated" sticker on the door! My people! I greeted the receptionist and when she asked what I was interested in, I told her I wasn't sure, I'd never done this before! She showed me options and I selected what I wanted after asking a friend what lashes she had. We decided I should come back at 4:30 pm (it was 1:30pm) since my job and family prohibits me from working through the week. While making my selection I heard an employee (maybe the owner) call the receptionist back. When the receptionist came back around she asked if I could come another time. I told her this was the only day I could come - this or nothing. The mysterious person behind the desk emerges with full accoutrement for doing her own lashes to tell me to download the app "hon" so I could see the schedule for myself. I had no idea they even had an app - I'd never been in the business before. I said ok, and downloaded the app while she told me she was having trouble booking the 4:30 time slot because she would finish after 7:00 when they were closed.(?!?) I was told it would only take an hour. I told her that was fine that I could go elsewhere. She said no, let's do the 4:30. Then she asks if I downloaded the app by taking my phone with un-Gloved, un-sanitized hands! I took it back to sign up my account and she tells me to go elsewhere because she doesn't want to stay until 7:00 anyway. I've never been so mistreated in customer service in my life. I can't review the product because I never received the lashes. I've positively reviewed many business on yelp and have so much love for veteran owned business. Deka Lash completely ruined my lashes after my lash lift. Karen did my lash lift, and afterwards I was left with extremely crooked and brittle lashes. My lashes are permed crooked because she did not brush them well. I believe she also left the lash lift lotions on for too long causing them to be brittle. I just can't believe how horrible this turned out, and now I'm left with the most unhealthy, wacky looking crooked lashes for the next two months. Would never recommend Deka Lash Mosaic to a friend. This place is very clean and well organized. I was greeted by very friendly staff and signed into my appointment via tablet. The sign in process was very efficient and there was no wait to be receive the eyelash service. The salon has multiple sections all divided by walls to ensure that the customer feels privacy and comfort. I was escorted to my seat and it was this long elegant S shaped bed with a comfortable neck pillow. The service was so excellent and professional that I felt myself drifting off to sleep. After about almost 2 hours, I was left with long thick lashes. All the ladies are kind and talented but the talented lady that did my lashes was Michell, she's very patient, talented, precise and personable.
