Smushed in between apartments and an industrial area lies Del Monte dog park. Parking is limited and most of the park is dedicated to an artificial turf soccer field. Small park is ok but small. Small dog side is probably 1/2 the size of the San Antonio Rd. dog park in Mt. View. Not much fun if your dog has the zoomies. read more

Del Monte Park dog park is by far the best dog park I've ever been to. We recently moved from Los Angeles to San Jose and one of our first priorities was finding a good dog park. I loved everything I read about Del Monte Dog Park on Yelp and, well, I was definitely not disappointed. The astro turf does NOT smell. It is clean, the benches are clean, and everyone cleans up after their dogs. This dog park is perfect for my pup who still gets nervous around larger dogs. The fact there is a separate area for small & large dogs makes everything a lot easier for her. We bring our dogs to this park every day. So thankful for a real dog park in this area! We used to go to Delmas but after a few negative experiences with other dogs/their owners and no grass we stopped going. Del Monte hasn't been open for too long. There are a handful of regulars during daytime & weekends (when my BF goes because he works swing shift) but I'm always by myself when I bring my dogs before work (in fact, I've never seen anyone else here before 8:30 am). It's clean, has lots of space for my medium dogs to run, clean water, poop bags, and doesn't have the clicky dog park vibe other parks have. My only complaint is no lighting. Makes it a little creepy when I'm here a little too early in the morning. read more

Super cute dog park, in the middle of nowhere kinda. It's located behind these old shops and there's still construction going on, so it's a bit hard to find parking on the street. The dog park is split into a small and big dog park. There are lots of benches, but not much shade, and the grass is turf. There's also a kids playground nearby so family friendly. It could get a little crowded since the dog park isn't super big, especially with all the big dogs on Saturdays. But they have doggie poop bags provided, which is a plus. And also a dog water fountain so you don't have to bring water . My friend had a corgi and she was excited there's lots of corgis here. read more

This is a pretty decent spot if you're nearby. The park itself is very clean and we've never had an issue with parking on the street. The small dog side is tiny and really not spacious enough to play fetch, which Milo loves to do. We've taken him to the big side one or two times and haven't had any issues; owners are responsible for their dogs and it doesn't get overly crowded. My only reason for lacking one more star is the size, this park would be perfect if the dog section was bigger. read more

The park is just better and better each time I go! Always dogs there (though typically go on weekend afternoons). Only downfall is that occasionally people bring treats for their dogs. It's common courtesy (I think) not to do this. They either ask if your dog could have some or not at all, but either way don't seem to care that your dog is then following them around nearly begging for treats and I find that quite frustrating. - What might be good for your dog, may not be good for my dog. read more

Pretty clean park..... Nice sized turf for the small to medium dogs to hang out and enjoy running around in on one side of the fence, then on the other side is for bigger dogs. Park provides poopie bags and a water fountain that you control for your dogs to drink from. People leave their toys behind so your dogs will have something to play with. People seem to be pretty nice. Plenty of bench area to sit on. The complaints I have are that someone's dog left behind smeared poop in one area, which if you know your dog has diarrhea then don't take them out to the dog park, and second is someone wasn't watching their dog so when the dog pooped it was just left there in the corner. I just can't stand it when people don't pick up after their dogs, especially when it's at a dog park where other dogs will come into contact with the poop if just left there. read more

This dog park is great! One section for big dogs and another for small dogs. Both sides are just rectangle AstroTurf, and on the small side. Lots of benches for owners and there are restrooms for owners! The dogs there were well behaved but a lot of the owners are helicopter parents. Our pup, Finley LOVES this dog park, and so do we! He has allergies and can play only on turf and not grass, so this is perfect for him. We go at least five times a week and have lots of friends there now. The dogs interact and always do so well and if there's ever any kind of unfavorable reaction between the dogs, parents are quick to step in. Most parents are very good about picking up their doggies "business", and making sure all dogs have water. You'll find many different breeds of dogs there and it is so much fun to see them all playing together. All in all, I highly recommend this Dogpark! read more

Very nice dog park with separate space for big dogs and small dogs. Turf is clean with minimal dirt area for dogs to get dirty & muddy. For owners, there are nice benches with shade, convenient poop bag dispensers, nice and water stations for humans and dogs. The small dog section is large enough for the dogs to run around and get a work out, but small enough for owners to see everything that's going on and be aware of whenever their dog poops or is getting into a fight, etc. Plus, people are nice and parking is easy. read more

This is a really cool dog park because it separates the large dogs and the small dogs. The bad thing about it is that the play area is very small so there isn't much room for the dogs to run. I also think it is a little gross how there is artificial grass because when a dog does his business it just stays on the fake grass. If it was real grass then it would just get absorbed into the grass. read more

I really love this dog park! It's super clean and they provide doggy bags just in case of accidents!However every sunday or so theres a shiba inu meet up with people who can't even control their damn dogs. This isn't the first time i witnessed their shibas being aggressive either and they don't even try to take their dogs out of the park. My cousin's dog got bitten and dragged by one of the shibas and the owner didn't even care to check up on us or her own dog. She just gossiped with her friends. If you guys can't control your dog then don't be here at all and ruin everything for everyone. Plus the lead of the group was dicussing how their aggressive attitude was in their nature. Bs. Don't feed me that crap, how about you train your dog to not bite other people sir. So everyone beware of the shiba inu meet up unless you want your dog to get seriously injured. read more

This is our all time favorite 5 star park. Clean and always a good variety of cute lil furballs every where on the weekends. Owners are quick to pick up after their loved ones and most are very friendly. Can't wait till this flu epidemic is over so we can be back! read more

I dropped by briefly today to check out the dog park and here are a few notes: Pros: -Cool jungle gym area for kids -Ping pong table -Turf for dog areas (yay no muddy dogs!) -Separated small/big dog areas -Everything is nice and clean since it's new Cons: -**Limited parking: Only street parking is available and on Auzerais Ave, only one side of the street is available for parking (the side closest to the apartments). I parked on the side closest to the park for 15 mins until a worker approached me to move my car, so I left since I couldn't find any street parking (this was a Monday at noon). I talked to a lady there and she said she parked on W Home St on the south end of the park. -Dog park shade is limited so it was really warm even in today's 68 degree weather, hopefully they strategically plant a couple trees to limit sun exposure -No dog bags or poop shovels provided, so bring your own! 2 stars for size and 0 stars for the irresponsible owners that brought their non nurtured male dogs to the park. I personally had to break up 3 fights caused by these dogs and was only here for 30 minutes. One of the owners said to me that her dog "needed to be bit" and she wants her dog to learn not to mount. There is NO place for dogs that are not fixed at any dog park. EVER! read more

Very awesome dog park. They have dog poop bag dispenser in case you leave them at home. Also they have a little dog fountain in case your poocher is thirsty. Wonderful dog park. It has artificial turf and a water bubbler for the dogs. The dog owners who frequent this park are very friendly and our one year old Boston Terrier gets a great workout with his buddies and crashes for a nap afterward. This is the best dog park in the area with benches in a shaded area and some in the sun. I highly recommend this and hope more dogs will come regularly so our dog has new playmates read more
