Save your money and go to Sardies! Ordered a 2 piece white and the wing was so small it was pitiful (they charge an extra dollar.) I had rice and beans and a salad as side dishes. Salad consisted of lettuce, radishes and shredded carrots. ranch dressing on the side. The food was very bland. The soda was decent. I ate the breast and tasted the sides. The rest went in the trash. Wow. Barely visible from the Golden Mile, this little restaurant serves up some awesome chicken. The chicken is juicy and loaded with flavor and NO MSG. The sides are great too. I was pleased first with the price as it was about $10 less even with an extra side than the other Peruvian chicken spot. They offer curry chickpeas as a side which was surprising so I had to try and I thought they were very tasty. The fried plantains were very sweet and ripe although they could have used a little less oil when frying. The chicken was very flavorful and only slightly dry. The green sauce had the perfect amount of spice and you could really taste the cilantro. Overall I enjoyed my meal and I would definitely go back again. read more

Meh. The chicken wasn't very flavorful, and it had an overly soft, mushy texture. The mixed vegetables on the side were pretty bad, and obviously frozen. (Would it really be that hard--or costly--to chop up a few fresh veggies and toss them with some kind of seasoning?) The black beans were fine, but it's hard to screw up black beans. The service was friendly and reasonably efficient, but that doesn't make up for mediocre food. Sardi's is much better--they have similar problems with dodgy side items, but at least the chicken is moist and flavorful, with a proper chickeny texture. Barring a menu overhaul, I doubt I'll go back to the Golden Beak. read more

Went during lunch. Chicken is pretty good but i think sardis is a bit better. Sardis has more selection of sides and sides are better at sardis. Also a bit more expensive than sardis overall if you want Peruvian chicken i recommend sardis over this place. If sardis wasn't in Frederick I'd come here more. read more

There are quite a few places that serve a very similar menu but the Golden Beak has become a favorite for out family. The food is always hot, delicious, and made to order. Every time we have visited, including our most recent, we were welcomed by the owner and engaged in brief conversation. There is definitely something to be said for a place where the ownership/mgmt see their customers as more than a check number. read more

Beautiful restaurant with lots of natural lighting and plenty of tables for either singles or groups. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The prices and combos were very reasonable. But now let's get to the most important factor, the food! My goodness that is some juicy chicken! Soo good! And the sauces were great too, I mix the green (spicy) with the yellow for a unique taste! I was able to try four sides since we went in a group. The fries were fantastic, they were freshly cooked and came with a pink sauce that kind of reminds me of "Big Mac" sauce but way better! The fried yucca, rice and beans were also delicious sides. Glad I finally stopped in! I will admit I've driven by it since it opened and wondered what in the world is a golden beak?! Ok has anticipated the opening of this restaurant for a bit. I usually only eat chicken as my protein, and the name excited me! When they opened, I stopped in , and was delighted to find it was PERUVIAN CHICKEN! The staff is always friendly, I've been here several times, and the chicken is always fantastic! The sauces are a delightful touch, sometimes I save them, sometimes I use them right then. Not good. As stated by another review the chicken was dry and had an over powering taste of cumin. The fried rice, which they charge a dollar more for was terrible. No taste clumped white rice throughout with out any seasoning. The fries looked and tasted like they had been under the heat lamps for hours. Into the trash this meal went. In general, everything was ok, but a little underseasoned for my liking (except the plantains, they were excellent). Got the whole chicken combo with 3 large sides, to take home. Chicken was overcooked, tasted like it had been sitting in the warmer for too long. Black beans and rice was bland. Brand new Rotisserie Chicken Place in Frederick. Very nice atmosphere, restaurant built and designed by the owner. Wood brought in from Pennsylvania for the decor and very nicely designed and also staff very friendly, on the plus side. On the minus side, chicken is ok, flavor is different, not what I am use to in Rotisserie chicken. The selection of sides are not that great either.The sauce that goes with chicken could be better .I will try again since this business just opened to see if any any improvements have been made. read more

Awesome. My wife eats gluten free so it is hard to find good gluten free options in the Frederick area. TGB is almost all gluten free which is awesome. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about gluten (most restaurants don't know what gluten is when we ask). The food was excellent. Chicken moist with crispy skin and the seasoning was amazing. I got the rice and fried plantains and they were great. Huge pieces of chicken in the rice which was awesome and I love the peas and veggies included too. The gentleman who took our order came around and asked us how our food was. Being in a cafeteria style restaurant this personal attention is how the golden beak earned their 5th star. The other 4 came from the combination of good food, customer service, and cleanliness. Make sure you try their special green sauce with the chicken. My wife also added that you should try the special fry sauce if you get fries. Great place and we will be back.. Cheers! read more

I've had lunch here a few times and loved it, never a line and always hot and yummy! However, I picked up a whole chicken on a Saturday afternoon and as usual it was kinda quiet and slow but that's how I like it ...got home and unpackaged everything and I was so disappointed because the chicken was not at its best and the chickpeas were not cooked as much as past experiences. I brushed it off as a slow Saturday for them and maybe I'll just keep going during the week when I know the chicken is fresh and hot! But still a very good place to grab take out without a long line. read more
