I walked in and Nina was at the front and I said "okay I think I talked to you on the phone." And she dismissed me, and I asked if I could order the chai, and she was very cold and short with me, and when she brand the chai out it was all watered down, with no milk and hardly tasted like chai at all. This was very personal for Nina to treat us this way because she wasn't happy that I requested a to go order and it was obvious by the way she acted towards me. I even asked how they made the chai, because I was a little skeptical of how watered down it was and how there was no milk. I got a short "oh it's just the same process as always." And then I asked "okay so where do you get the chai from?" And she said "it's just a tea ." Sarcastically. I was so looking forward to purchasing the chai from here this morning and Nina ruined that. I am never coming back and don't recommend anyone coming here if they care about quality or customer service or chai. Update : I asked to at-least be refunded the $13 I spent on the chai and Nina said "I'm going to put you on hold for a minute" and then 10 minutes later still nothing, the call dropped. I am so shocked that this establishment has let this happen to me.

It had a very corporate vibe. (The fact it calls itself a "boutique studio" is nuts to me.) It is not unfriendly, but I didn't particularly find it warm or welcoming. No one really spoke much to each other, and in one class, the instructor didn't even introduce herself. The studio seems clean, although I loathe the environmentally-unsound practice of using disposable wipes for every class - shame on Club Pilates as a corporation for continuing to do this! It is impossible to make last minute changes. I considered buying an extra class during my time, but everything was waitlisted well in advance. I booked weeks before, and I think that is why I got into the classes I did. But then none of the classes seemed totally full? Also, I noticed that even when we started class 10 minutes late, we ended on time, meaning we were shorted out of time we paid for. I think my first class lasted for about 35 minutes total, which is definitely not what I thought I signed up for. The classes were... underwhelming. I took a Level 1 because I was new to the studio (and unable to sign up for something higher despite my experience). It was fine and I enjoyed getting my movement in, but the pacing was strange and often felt rushed and disorganized. I felt we didn't spend very long doing any of the moves, just rushing on to the next one (except bridging, which all of the instructors spent a disproportionate amount of time on). The instructors were not always very clear in their instruction, and I imagine this would be confusing for true beginners. I also had the most bizarre experience in my last class there. The instructor just left the class in child's pose while she went to the bathroom during class. I thought she was joking at first until I noticed she had actually left. Then later - during the same class - she wandered into the lobby on her phone about a personal matter, losing track of what we were doing during feet in straps. It makes for a fun story, but... what?

I've seen some great coaching and facilities, and I've experienced some less than ideal situations. Time and again, I appreciate the excellent coaching, programming, and most importantly, the community at the Combine. Over the years, I have improved my strength, mobility, body composition, and learned what I'm truly capable of as an athlete. CrossFit is not easy, nor should it be. The coaches offer great support and encouragement, pushing athletes through discomfort that ultimately turns into remarkable results. Even when I've had to deal with injuries (before you even think it, no, I didn't get injured because of CrossFit), the coaches can modify and scale the workouts to ensure I still get a good session. At times, that meant doing something almost entirely different from the rest of the class. That is one of the defining reasons this coaching staff is fantastic. If you're interested in checking out CrossFit or feel it is time to try a different box, the Combine just might be what you've been looking for. The members are some of the nicest and self-motivated people I've ever met and that only makes the experience that much better.

Amanda discussed my areas of concern with me, and gave valuable insight in terms of her planned approach and what she intuitively knew would be of best help to me. The sound bath in itself was absolutely incredible and transported me to another realm. By the end of the session, I felt more relaxed and at peace than I had in YEARS. Over the course of the next week, I noticed I was calmer and my pain had decreased, both emotionally and physically. I have since attended more recent soundbaths offered by Amanda, feeling totally restored a rejuvenated after each session. Furthermore, her studio set up and overall programming including her integration room is perhaps the best I've experienced in LA. I am so grateful to have found her, and feel privileged to have been blessed with an incredible experience with her. Do not walk; RUN to book a sound healing session with Amanda.
