I was extremely disappointed with my recent experience at this Del Taco location. Unfortunately, it was one of the worst experiences I have had at any restaurant. The dining area floors were visibly dirty and covered with food debris and trash, and the trash receptacles were overflowing. The floors appeared as though they had not been properly cleaned in quite some time and were covered in dirty shoe prints while still wet. I also observed what I believe to be several unsanitary practices. A manager was standing on the counter with dirty shoes directly above the sauce packets, which appeared to be the only sauce packets available for customers. In addition, the soda machines were dirty and leaking. From the front counter, I was able to see into the kitchen area, which also appeared unclean, with food and trash visible on the floor. I noticed several employees with long hair who were not wearing hair restraints, and I did not observe gloves being used during food preparation. Cleanliness and food safety are extremely important, and the conditions I witnessed were concerning. There is a reason this Bullhead City Del Taco has only 2* My first visit was pretty decent but this one was disappointing. Their employees are super friendly and very polite. I give the employees 4* But their food is lacking in multiple areas, and I give the food 1*. The epic guacamole asada burrito was on the small side compared to other fast food restaurants. The main filling was refried beans and lime rice. I could count on 1 hand the pieces of asada in the burrito. And some of the pieces were burned. Did a walk in for some breakfast on my way to the airport. Service was good and friendly. One of the employees was a trainee & was focused on getting it right. I got my food to go & made the mistake of not checking my order until I was headed down the street. They had left out my steak & egg burrito. I turned around & went back in. Awful location, I ordered the 8 layer burrito and they made it with things that don't come on it (a huge helping of stinky raw onions, green sauce instead of red) and without the ingredients that come on it (sour cream). When I asked them to remake it they yelled at me WELL THIS IS HOW WE'rE TRAINED." I asked to show them the menu item in the app (no onions unless you customize and pay extra which I DID NOT. They said they were too busy and they were trained to put raw onions on the 8 layer. They literally tried to make it correctly per the menu FOUR TiMES and failed. So I just threw them away and ate The $11 for my meal because it was an app order. These employees screamed at me so loudly I felt very unsafe and my safety is worth more Than $11. Prob the worst fast food service I've had while visiting the area. And most definitely the worst Del Taco service I've ever had. Put in an online order. Pulled up to the window and I wasn't greeted in a friendly manner, but I can overlook that (though they weren't busy. No cars in parking lot and one car in front of me and one behind that's it). I open up my bag to count the times bc I'm visiting. Nothing worse than getting back to the hotel and the food items are incorrect. I had two fairly recent experiences here. The first one required a return, because when I got home to Laughlin I discovered that a drive-thru order of Regular Guac and Chips that I had paid for was missing. This was squared away in a telephone call with a manager when she recorded the omission in "the book," and I was told that I could come in at any time to pick up the missing order without further charge. Five months later I did, and I received fresh Guac and Tortilla Chips as promised. The mild Guac was clearly fresh and obviously homemade, with big chunks of avocado, tomato and onion bits, and cilantro. And the Chips were slightly warm. Plain Cheddar Quesadillas were big, well melted, and tasty, while Mini Quesadillas were baby versions of the same. I especially liked the crunchiness of Bean & Cheese Crunchtadas that were heaping with Refritos and Cheddar Cheese, along with some Iceberg Lettuce, but was disappointed that they contained no tomato slice on top. To me that is the mark of a righteous tostada! I liked each of my hard, crunchy, and cheesy Del Tacos but was not that enamored with a Beyond Avocado Taco. I still prefer real ground beef to the plant-based variety. And While I liked a Combo Burrito, I found a Beef Burrito to be too spicy for my taste. Krinkle-Cut Fries that rounded out both meals were good but clearly of the frozen variety. Meanwhile, Diane enjoyed her box order of 3 pieces of Crispy Chicken Strips with Fries, and a small order of Hashbrown Sticks. She was smiling at everyone from behind the counter, hustling at cleaning and wiping down trays, helping people randomly walking up to the counter who were complaining about no ice in the ice machine. She kept smiling, and cheerfully told them she was very sorry but it was broken and she would be happy to fill their cups with ice for them from the behind-the-counter ice machine. She even asked how much ice they liked and after handing it to them, asked if that amount was ok. She was rushing around keeping busy and doing it all with a great attitude. Usually a pleasant experience here, with cheaper food and a friendly staff. Not so earlier this morning. I arrived around 8:30 a.m., on a Sunday morning. A nice and courteous young female waited while I perused their extensive menu, then she started ringing up my order. Apparently they were short-staffed when she said, "She'll take the rest of your order..." and left (maybe to the drive-thru window) and was replaced by a younger female, short, heavy, no name tag, appeared perhaps half Hispanic/half Asian ... with an attitude ... giving me the bum's rush. No hello, no how are you, no smile, just "Anything else?!" "Anything else?!" snapping at me like a little junk yard dog, or an army drill sergeant. Took my money, slammed the register drawer shut, and stormed off. I'm aware that fast food work can be busy, tedious, and annoying, but the place was not busy. I was the only customer, and I saw only one car using the drive-thru. This particular employee's attitude was not necessary. I have a hunch she's probably been reported previously, as it appears she dislikes working there. But that's her problem, NOT MINE. I always give people a second chance. When I visit there again, I will not tolerate any attitude from that person. If so, I will report it to the Supervisor, and/or to Corporate, and I will follow up on it. With a fixed income, and the high cost of everything nowadays, I don't need some flippant fast food worker giving me grief! read more
