Can't believe I'm giving a Del Taco 5 stars, but here it's deserved. After avoiding this place (based on poor ratings/ reputation) for over a decade, I tried it a few months ago for lunch. Shocked to find the fish tacos were delicious, great sauce, generous veggies, well priced. More recently I've gone two more times. Everything was fresh (tasting) and delicious. Mind you, I would prefer it if the local, non-chain taco places around here offered the same value (some are even better but cost 2-3x), but they don't. So, reluctantly, I'm a Del Taco stan -- at least for this location at lunchtime. read more

Crappiest del taco ever !! Ordered 10 chicken soft taco and 6 beef taco and 4 bean burritos. Chicken tacos were micro sized !! Literally one or two pieces of chicken per taco, more like a tortilla with spread because of basically nothing in tortilla. One - two bite tacos !! Feel like I got ripped off !! And 3 of them didn't even have the sauce. Then on bean burritos came across hard chunks of beans in them. My daughters didn't even want to eat after bad experience !! Everytime we go to this location, it is a horrible experience. I haven't used Yelp in years, and re-downloaded specifically to rate this place horribly. Partner and I absolutely love Del Taco, and with the next closest one being in Valencia, we have found ourselves here at many late nights, early morning, etc. It's never been a good experience. Unfortunately, our most recent trip was an official throw in the towel-never coming back to this location. Typically, we experience waits of 15 to 20 minutes in the drive-through despite being the only person there...people seemingly not understanding what we're saying-at the "talk box", the drive through window, and the counter-and we have a lot of patience, we know not everyone's first languages English, but when I'm 20 minutes into an interaction trying to explain that, No, my name is not Mark, it's just the letter B, we could've eaten and been home at another place by now. And no, ordering on the app does not make it less time unfortunately. Expect to wait 15 to 20 minutes longer than you're quoted. It's never a seamless and easy thing. So I've covered excessive waits. They often get items wrong. We order a fish taco, we get some type of burrito. We order unsweetened iced tea, we get sweet tea. Once or twice, OK, accidents happen. Every time we go? It's a quality control issue. That's all without mentioning missing certain items. Fish tacos are supposed to come with a lime wedge, they're frequently missing. It seems silly, but the acidity in that really makes a difference. You order a certain amount of sauces online, you don't get them at all. You asked for utensils, you get told "they're in the bag" and they're not when you get home. They'll let you order items at the 'talk box' and even charge you for those items, and after 15 minutes of waiting, come back and tell you they didn't realize they were out of something. Again, one or two times? OK, accidents happen. Nearly every time we go? You guys just don't care and a 15 year-old freshman in high school could do better. So straw that broke the camels back...it's around 10 AM on Tuesday morning (11/19/24) I'm in my first trimester of pregnancy, and craving fish tacos. My partner is craving Del Taco in general, so we decide will give it another go after a few months. It can't be that bad right? We order on the app, see an ad for a new drink called 'dirty del' that seems to have Dr Pepper, shake mix, and a lime wedge. Sounds great in my pregnancy brain. We order online, wait in the parking lot for about 10 minutes, and then pull up to the window. Queue the usual multiple times over trying to explain who we are in the talk box, that we placed an order online through their app, etc. whole exchange takes about five minutes when it should be a simple as "here for pick up, my name is" and "OK, pull up to the window!". We waited at the window for about 10 minutes before we're even greeted by anyone. They ask if we are the one with the "new drink". We confirm, and the male employee flat out says he has no idea what's in the new drink. He tells us management never educated them on how to make the drink, what the drink is, etc. He simply saw that an ad had been put up in their window, and he had no idea what it was. He asked us what was in the drink. Us . The customer. He asked us how to make it. We don't know? I'm not paid $18.50 to know LOL We tried to explain what it seemed like it was, and he said "oh, like a root beer, float, I got you!" Hands us the drink...has rotten limes floating in it. I balk a little, my partner tells me that they're probably just a little brown on the outside, so I take a sip of the drink. It tastes awful...not in just like a taste level away, like rotten in general. Kind of sour? But not in a lime way. Pretty quickly, we discover the entire cup is lined with cilantro leaves. Seriously. I don't know if the lime wedges were mixed in with some cilantro prior to being put in my drink but, yeah...It was absolutely nasty. We remember that they frequently forget the lime wedges in the fish tacos, so we asked for some on the side. A new employee comes up and tells us she needs to charge us. We explain why we want them, and she tells us to check the fish tacos and that they're already in there, because it "comes with it". We check, no limes. We ask her for limes, And she says "whatever.". We get handed the limes, they're all brown and yellow. Like they've been sitting out for way too long. He and I both sigh, and just decide to leave. 25 minutes waiting in total to get "fast" food where we were the only people in line with less than 6 items. Never again at this location. read more

I came here to grab food on my lunch break and ordered 2 beyond meat tacos with just the beyond meat and cheese only. When I got my food, I basically received 2 empty taco shells. Mind you, I've ordered this multiple times in the past at this location and other locations and have never had a problem with the portion sizes. I called the store and spoke to the manager and explained the situation. He said that he was the one who made my food and he knows for a fact that he gave me the correct portions per corporate regulations, I explained to him that I have ordered the same thing multiple times in the past and never received this little of food. He said the other stores must be doing something wrong then and must be giving me more than they're supposed to (which is odd considering I've never asked for extra Beyond Meat or had this problem in the past but okay). As you can see in the photos, there's more cheese than beyond meat. Which, let's be honest, there not much of anything in these tacos in the first place. This is extremely annoying because A) I wasted my lunch break to get BARELY any food and B) The beyond meat is much pricier than normal meat (understandably) but I'd at least expect a decent portion size regardless of what I ordered. I had ordered a burrito and 2 shrimp tacos, after ordering the tacos I asked to make the burrito a combo the guy over the speaker says "what burrito" ... idk maybe the burrito I just order less than a minute ago? after I said "um the cali bacon burrito I just ordered" then sat in silence for a good 2 minutes until he finally came back and said "small medium or large" kinda awkward but okay. after pulling up and paying he ASKED ME if I wanted a receipt, after paying $24 for a burrito combo and 2 shrimp tacos which are 2 for $6 I said yes please because I wanted to see the price breakdown. He walked away after 2 minutes he handed us our food and never gave me the receipt so I asked for it. Then he tells me oh the receipt printer is broken. So then why did you ask me, if it's broken?? This thing has been broken for months every time we come here so it's not like he didn't know. So then I asked him how much was the burrito and he just took a minute to guess and told me around $14, so I asked him how did it come out to $24 if the shrimp tacos are only $6. His answer? Well tax of course, so I said tax is $4?? Then he changed his answer and said oh they raised the prices (didn't say if what) so I asked AGAIN well how much is it because on the menu it says 2 for $6. He looked on the POS and told me $14.95 and I said so it still doesn't make sense how it came to $24. He said oh cause you got a large that's extra. Yeah duh it's extra I wanna know how much it is, so I had to ask again I have no idea why it was so hard to just get a a straight answer from this guy considering he has the POS right next to him you'd think he could just I don't know maybe check?? so I had to ask him againnnn how much is it???! Then after going back and forth multiple times then he finally proceeds to tell me the correct price which was $17 for a large burrito combo... seems like a huge price jump from a smal combo to a large but whatever the fries were only half full and had NO SALT. Seriously just a huge waste of money ‍this guy made me feel like I was acting like a Karen going back and forth when all I asked was one simply question, which was how much was burrito combo and he made it seem like I was asking such a complicated question. I agree with previous review 1000% Worst del taco (this is inside shell station in Via Princessa, corner Sierra Hi-way), worst fast food, worst customer service! Went to this spot with 1 crew working the counter, and 1 the drive thru. Counter crew started preparing our tacos with his bare hands. He then went to work on the fries still with his bare hands, wiped them on his shirt and went to continue working on our tacos. Noticing the box of gloves on the counter we asked why is he not wearing one. He answered Osha policy doesn't require him to wear one. I hvnt heard of such policy in fact its required when working directly on food esp raw and that's including cheese and salad items. When we asked the other crew (who's wearing gloves) if we can talk to the manager, he pointed to the guy preparing out food!!! We then asked him if he can wear gloves he said I can give you guys refund! This Manager Eduardo would rather give us refund than yield to our request! He also said things like it's ok to wipe with his shirt, and that its ok to wear his ring while working on our food with his barehands because his ring is made of rubber so it's not considered jewelry!! They either need a new crew who have proper food handling experience or need to shut down completely!!! We left after getting our refund! I understand she ordered a large order but EVERY TACO AND BURRITO she ordered looked EXACTLY like these ones!! COLD, LACKING TOPPINGS MEAT, and OLD LOOKING. If you really feel that this is appropriate to serve to your customers try serving it to your own family first and see how they react. This is extremely disappointing since it's the closest location to our house compared to the other Santa Clarita locations and our family is a fan of Del Taco. It's Del Taco. I like that they are open till midnight. I prefer them over Taco Bell. I find the seasoned ground beef and beans are nicer in flavor. The Large Queso Loaded nachos are one of my favorites on the menu. I don't think there are any Del Taco locations that allow substitution of ingredients so if your want extra tomatoes to offset omission of jalapeños, then it will cost $0.40 extra. If you want onions that's extra too. On the upside this item lives up to it's name. It is definitely loaded with meat, beans, and creamy queso blanco. The sour cream is a nice touch too. What was amiss tonight? I ordered 1 large nachos and 1 Value Taco. I'm not mad but I did deducted 1 star because they forgot my one taco when there were no other cars in line at 9:45pm. Who knows; perhaps, the crew is sharper during peak business hours when they function with more adrenaline which helps with focus. Neither Del Taco nor I made sure that the singular value taco ordered made it into the bag. It's only $0.79, so I'm not mad. This is THE WORST Del Taco in all of L.A. County. Now, I've worked in food service, so I understand that people can have a bad night. But this happens EVERY SINGLE TIME. Also, I'm not going to write a bad review unless it's really deserved. I pulled into the drive-thru at 8:22 PM, and did not get my food until 9:06 PM. There wasn't a million cars, either. I sat in the same spot (as did everyone else) for almost 30 minutes before I even ordered. Normally I would've just left, but someone pulled in behind me right away so I was stuck. Anyway, my order was very simple: regular taco, regular tostada, and small fries. No special substitutions or requests. When I FINALLY got my food (another 10 minutes AFTER I paid), it was cold and apparently made by a blind person. I got about 6 cold fries, the taco had about three cheese fibers, and the tostada looked like it was dropped. I cannot believe I waited 45 minutes for quite possibly the worst Del Taco "food" I've ever had. So if any managers are reading, or any corporate people, you guys REALLY need to step up your game or close this location. If your crew can't prepare edible food under 45 minutes, then you're ALL in the wrong business. Seriously, this kind of thing is just unacceptable. This was the worst experience. I never complain about bad food, but i had to say something. The worst part was it was the manager who made the food. She said her name is "lady". Like this isnt the first time someone has complained about her. I feel sorry for the two gentlemen who were working with her. Tonight I ordered postmates from this del taco location. Upon delivery, I did not receive one item that I ordered. Literally my entire order was wrong. The bag was sealed with a tag that states "double checked for accuracy". Is that a joke? So disappointed. In this order I received 2 bean and cheese burritos and 2 burritos with nothing but ice cold, unmelted cheese...even if they had made a mistake on my order the least they could have done was made it edible. The workers use their dirty gloved hands for the cash register and to prepare your food with the same dirty gloved hands. They do not believe in using kitchen utensils to makes salads, pickup cheese, tomatoes and jalapenos. They put their blue gloved hands that they just took to give your money with and change at the cash register and use the same dirty hands to prepare your order ---- No spoons, no tongs, no forks and no spatula. Just their hands covered dirty blue glove hands directly into the containers. They need to be closed down and reported before someone gets seriously gets ill from the workers filthy ways in handling the food. Totally unsanitary and disgusting. The staff handles the cash register and touch the lettuce, tomatoes and jalapeños by grabbing the food with their dirty gloves/hands. I think in 2024 you should use kitchen utensils when handling food in the kitchen instead of dirty hands and dirty gloves that you used to handle the cash register and money. This location use to be on point, but recently the quality of service has deteriorated fast. To be fair, some of the employees are great, but overall it has gotten real bad. When you come, bring your patience, and leave your expectations of getting fast service home. Your average wait time will be 25 minutes. Everything I ordered came with stale tortillas (chicken quesadilla, 2 tacos del carbon, 2 original chicken burritos) and the fillings were cold.
