Since they recently added funnel cake straws to the menu, I was concerned to find that the fries tasted oddly sweet, and even the crispy chicken tacos had a sweet taste as well. I called and spoke with a shift leader, Mia, who told me I'd need to talk to the general manager, Maria. When I finally spoke with Maria a few days later, she completely dismissed my concern. I went through the drive through it's Monday June 1 11:30pm and older white lady with blonde hair takes my order I order a big fat chicken taco , 2 grilled chicken taco and a regular fries I pull up to the window I see her shake a whole bunch of salt on the fries I come home my daughter says it's too salty . I went back and the old white lady had a major attitude saying oh I guess it's salty , ugh it's salty ! While attempting to take my first bite the corn tortilla turned to dust exposing the battered fish that appeared to have been bobbing around in the fryer all day. He ordered his usual two bean burritos and crinkle fries (probably the best item to order here) and I got the spicy chicken burrito (sans the spice) and some tacos. I'm not sure how long it's been since I've had their tacos but they are sure getting smaller each year. It's also nearly impossible to eat a hard shell taco from the Del without breaking the shell. I dont usually review fast food places because I always figure, you get what you pay for. But this time it was exceptionally bad! First of all...when did good ol' cheapy Del Taco get so expensive?! I got a chicken soft taco meal(size small) and two kids meals and it was over $20. Seriously? I guess that's why I had higher expectations maybe? The chicken soft tacos were disgusting after I got past the fact that there was about a pint of the sauce on the taco i quickly realized it was to cover up the bottom of the barrel nasty bits of chicken that were supposed to serve as the protein in my tacos. They were so burnt and chewy I actually spit the first bite out. I checked inside the tortilla thinking it was just a bad bite, but unfortunately it was the whole taco. In the trash it went. I was smart and examined the next taco before I drove in...same as the first one...again in the trash. Those were some pretty expensive french fries I just paid for. Next were the kids meals. One got a soft taco and the other got a quesadilla. The quesadilla was burnt and smelled so bad my kid wouldnt even eat it. So she just ate the fries. The soft taco barely had any meat in it and was mostly just lettuce and cheese. So again...my kid ate the fries. Plus to add insult to injury...they didnt include the little prize that is supposed to come in the kids meal. Even though I dont necessarily want those little junks floating around the house, the seem to make my kids happy for the time being so of course I was upset that they weren't in their bags. I'm not from this area and I was in a bind for lunchtime with hungry kids with little bellies that needed to be satisfied, so it's safe to say I will not be returning again to spend over $20 for french fries and lemonade! They charged me $30 for two meals. They were combos, so 5 items in total. When my driver called me, he said the restaurant was refusing to make the rest of the order because they "didn't get" the other items. So the people behind the counter thought what? That they just got $30 for a single burrito? I could hear them on the phone while the poor kid from DoorDash was trying to explain to me what was going on.
