It looks like this Del Taco location is having a bit of a struggle-and I hope they can rectify it. My family and I visited earlier this week via the drive thru and had hoped for a quick trip to get dinner after a long day. Unfortunately, it took quite a bit longer than we would have expected. The food itself was fine-the order was correct. We just waited a good 15 minutes from entering the line to leaving with our food. Looking in the window, I could see that there were not a lot of people inside-just one other customer. At one point, someone from behind the counter walked over to that customer and appeared to be having a conversation. It looked like the customer was unhappy and the employee was apologizing and trying to address the situation. Perhaps a little more training or management support is needed here. I'd love to see them succeed as sometimes I need a late night taco fix and don't want to drive too far. read more

I don't hesitate to leave honest reviews because eating out is expensive, and customers deserve to get what they pay for. Tonight I ordered two fish tacos. The woman who took my order was friendly and asked me to pull forward, even though there wasn't a single customer inside or in the drive-thru. I assumed they were preparing fresh food. What I received was shocking. Both fish tacos contained tiny pieces of fish that were so dried out and overcooked they were almost like chewing rawhide. They were nearly impossible to bite through and completely inedible. I threw both tacos away. If the fish had been sitting around that long, it should have been discarded instead of served. I paid for dinner and ended up with food that belonged in the trash. The employee was kind, but the kitchen completely failed on this order. my boyfriend and i used to come here weekly and loved it. while the food is still great, the service is not. we've had multiple situations with the same employee (possibly manager?) she is incredibly rude and even the employees seem bothered by her. the first time we had a problem she has been snarky to my boyfriend about his accent (mind you, she has an accent too) but this last time was different. i had an order to pickup and i told the lady multiple times that i was picking up an order. eventually she said "is it pickup or doordash" and i asked her to repeat herself because i was confused what she was asking. i said it was just a pickup order, and she turned around and started bad mouthing me to the employees in spanish thinking i wouldn't understand. she is incredibly unprofessional and seriously rude. we now avoid this location because of the attitude of this one lady read more

I had a good experience this time! I found an article online that said what items are gluten free and I couldn't find those things on the menu so the intercom guy helped me figure out what to order. And when I got my order, the lady was very nice and made sure multiple times I had everything I needed. The taco del carbon was good! And the carne asada fries were just what I needed. OMG!!! Rudest fast food person EVER!! They messed up the order completely. After being in line for 15 minutes I then had to go inside to correct the order. I think she's in a manager capacity as the others pulled her into the conversation. She looked up the order and proceeded to tell me that they got the order right. Not only was the order wrong, they didn't add cheese to the burrito. She rolled her eyes at me than barked order to the cooks. I honestly don't even know where to start with this. I'm not one to leave a review, especially a bad one, but this place is not doing good. To start, we ordered the new pineapple sprites and they handed them to us a little more than half way full. There was also several pieces of lettuce in them. They put an open sauce packet in our bag that had spilled onto another and the spilled sauce with crusty and old. There were also things like a few beans in my quesadilla that weren't supposed to be there. For anyone with any kind of allergies, look out with this place! I love this place. Great food. Great price. 24/7. Great employees! The reason why I gave this place 2 stars is because I cannot tell you how frustrating it is trying to communicate as a deaf person. The past two years, I see this one specific employee who is... either testing me or just not very bright. I'm hearing impaired. I try my best to order on the app. Sometimes I order at the drive through when paying cash. I cannot tell you how many times I have to tell her that I'm deaf and cannot understand her. I've had many different employees there that had no problem helping me with reading notes off my phone or getting my name to pull up my online order. But this one employee just makes it so difficult to read my notes off the phone or acknowledge my online order but spends her time looking at the wrong screens wondering where my order is. What I do hate is after 5 minutes of looking for my order, another employee was able to pull up quickly then she will come and tell me to pull up to front door (even though there's no car behind me) so it's frustrating that every visit I have and she's the one to assist me, she doesn't know how to do her job, doesn't understand that I cannot understand her so she's screaming at me, and always telling me to pull over to the front. I almost lost it when she asked me to come inside especially during a pandemic. She's not as friendly nor accommodating as other employees. Do NOT go to this del taco location! My husband hates del taco and this just added to his extreme dislike. We went to del taco tonight (Saturday) at around 10:30. We pull up to order and choose the 2 chicken soft tacos --- well, they are OUT of tortillas! So, I opted for chicken hard shell tacos. We get up to pay and they give us our food with no drinks. We tell them and 5 minutes later they come back to the window with our drinks. My husband and I get home and realize they never gave us our card back that we paid with. Soooooo back to del taco we go! I went into the lobby and told them they never gave us our card back. The girl working grabbed it and didn't say a single word to me. Ok, so I know, I know, it's Del Taco I shouldn't expect a gourmet experience. But, I feel that I shouldn't expect a horrible experience either. Lets just start with the service, they were very unpleasant and acted as if the hated their jobs. The wait was not bad, but for what I got, I am shocked it took as long as it did. Ok, now for the food. We ordered a variety of items to feed several people. The total check was just over 25 dollars, not great, but not bad for a quick easy fast food dinner, right? Wrong, when we got home, we came to find out that majority of our order was missing. We did get our 3 bean burritos and 1 soft taco. At 5 bucks an item, I was not impressed. Everything was cold and the tortillas were hard on the edges. We would have gone back to complain, but with company, it just did not seem to be worth it. I have had Del Taco many times before, mostly in college late at night, but this was not that that late night fun experience. It was bad, oh it was bad. Oh Del Taco- I want to love you. I want this to be a favorite go to place when I am not in the mood to cook, but you get my order wrong 90% of the time, yet I keep going back. Lately the wait for food is getting longer and longer (20 minutes). It is enough to make me quit your chicken tacos that I love. The staff is friendly and nice and I like that they now call your order out by name, but they just can't get the order right. Something is missing almost every time, usually fries, one time a taco, one time an entire meal. I do have to give them props for getting my son's burger order right as he orders it without a lot of the stuff on it- they always get that right (knock on wood), but always forget something. Plus something is wrong with the rootbeer dispenser, always a strong blast of syrup but then by the time you fill up your cup up it is bitter flavorless carbonation. So while I am sure I will continue to go for my taco fix, I really just wish they could get it together and get the orders right. ***Oh and a tip for anyone that does love Del Taco- if you are ever driving through Southern California- stop at the Del Taco in Barstow! Let me preface this by saying that I have never complained about customer service at a fast food drive thru. I know what it's like to work a minimum wage job that you hate. I get it. I set the bar very, very low because I sympathize with folks who have to work crappy jobs. That said, the customer service here is seriously subpar. I pulled up to the drive thru around 5:45pm yesterday and placed my order. Pulled around the corner, I'm third in line. Sweet. I'm about to grub on some tacos in a few minutes. Fifteen minutes pass before I'm able to pull up to the window. It took them fifteen minutes to flip two cars. I give the benefit of the doubt - maybe these were huge orders. When I finally get to the window at 6:00, it takes the guy nearly two minutes to even greet me. He takes my payment, then leaves without saying a word to me. I overhear him mention to a coworker that they need to make more fries. Hell yeah, fresh fries. Then I watch him wander around the kitchen for ten full minutes, occasionally repeating that "We need more fries," to his coworker. Ten minutes. Nothing is happening. He is wandering. I am hungry. Finally, at 6:15, I'm handed my food. It's been 30 minutes since I pulled up to order. My fries are fresh and delicious. My tacos are cold. My soda is flat. Like I said, I set the bar very low. Horrible drive thru service. I was wondering why the car in front of me was raking so long. Then when I pulled up to order the guy was a leaking so fast I had to say "I'm sorry say that again?" He goes oh I just said your order and sweeeet! He then pushed me to order a churro for $1 I said no. He said are you sure it's only for $1. I said yes, I'm sure! The girl looked like she hated her job. I asked her if I could have extra hot saucefor my burrito anf ketchup for my fries. She said yes, and total I ended up with 4 hot sauce and no ketchup.... It's fast food... please move forward accepting that premise and don't expect a review of the food. Instead, this is a review of this particular location and my most recent experience. Our order was wrong, my baby was crying, we had to come back and were not please about it. I called and spoke to the person in charge (no manager available) who said they would make the order correctly per the order in their system and have it ready when we got there. We arrived, the order was not ready and my wife was called a liar for suggesting the original order was wrong. She took the order in to show how it was wrong and the person in charge gave a refund, so, now we are without the food we ordered, we have a crying baby, and have to figure something out with no time...
