From patronizing my first JITB restaurant on the corner of Los Alamitos Blvd. and Farquhar Street, there in Los Alamitos, CA when my family lived there from '68-'72, back when I was around 10 years old...with our go-to menu option being their famous tacos...to today, we still love JITB fast food restaurants. Maybe it's the diverse menu selection with breakfast items available all day...or maybe it's still those killer tacos they offer. Regardless, the selection is awesome and the food is great. My wife and I have gone out of our way to patronize a Jack, and we're glad we did...the latest being 12 miles east of I-25 In Greeley, CO, a few years back. Now our go-to store is still a 20 minute drive across the valley, but worth it. Hey franchise owners...how about a JITB here in south Sandy/Draper? Hmm? It's 715 am and I had a craving for a Jumbo Jack... it's been a very long time but I want what I want to I went through the drive through and ordered the number 1 combo, regular fries. I asked first if they serve burgers in the morning... they said yes so here we are. The fries were hot, fresh and great. Well, what can I say?.. is my first time having Jack in the box and I wasn't that impressed. The place was clean so I'll give them that other than that let's see what they had to offer... Food 2/5 I ordered a double cheeseburger with bacon. It was tasty, but it was warm to the touch. The cheese wasn't even melted. I also got the order with seasoned curly fries and I'd say 50%. We're edible the rest we're hard and crunchy and my teeth felt like they were shattering... after fishing around for the soft curly fries. I just gave up and just finished my fruit punch drink just to wash everything down and get the heck out of there.. Service 2/5 there was no urgency in this establishment. I was waiting for help and one of the servers there came to me and I greeted them and they pointed at the screen in front of me indicating that it's a screen self-serving kiosk and then walked away... so I had to sit there and try to figure out a computer when they could've kindly assisted me and placed an order in a timely matter.. if you don't like your job, just quit it Ambience 4/5 everything was very clean. Disappointing from start to finish. I ordered four tacos and a breakfast sausage sandwich. Simple enough, right? Twenty-five minutes later--which is a surprisingly long time for a relatively simple order--I finally received my food. When I got home and checked the bag, I found they had given me only two tacos, my sausage sandwich, and a plain chicken sandwich I didn't order. Not only did they miss 2 tacos, the tacos didn't even have sauce, cheese or lettuce smh. To add to the frustration, there wasn't a single napkin in the bag. It's baffling how a place can mess up an order this badly, especially when the wait time is already so long. The lack of attention to detail in both preparation and packaging is a major turn-off. If I could give this location 0 stars I would. A whole thirty minute wait when the restaurant isn't even that busy. I asked to order a chicken patty à la cart. I get charged $3.10 for it when the Jr. Chicken sandwich only cost $2.59. If I knew you were just going to over charge me for a single patty I would've just ordered a plain jr. chicken sandwich and gave the buns to my dog. Not to mention I watched the manager take the chicken patty from hot holding, but the patty was cold and overcooked. Then watching her mess around and make fun of the single patty that was ordered and squishing the buns & putting them with the patty anyway. If you're going to give me the sandwich CHARGE ME FOR THE SANDWICH NOT THE CHICKEN PATTY FOR A MORE! We also ordered an order of tacos which weren't in the bag, but replaced with onion rings (I should've just kept them at least I would've had something to eat). So after a while thirty minute wait we walked away with my bfs ordered of eggrolls. Terrible customer service and terrible time management. I've never ate a Jack In the Box before so this was a new experience for me. My initial thoughts of this place were just straight confusion though, it had to tell what they specialize in because there is so much variety on the menu, to me that is a bad thing but I haven't tried everything so I can't tell you if some of the random items are any good. I just got the Jack Burger and some Curly fries, my burger was surprisingly good. I was expecting Carls Jr level quality but I would say it was a step above that and it's something I'd like to try again. The curly fries were nothing fancy and I would probably just go with their normal fries the next time I eat here. My wife and I had been fans of Jack-in-the-Box in New York City so we decided to try a new one that opened up near us in The District. There were plenty of tables available, and most of them appeared clean. My wife placed an order for us, my son and his wife, and their two children. A nice person took our order and we received the food pretty quickly, even though there were several others ahead of us. We took the bags they indicated and made the drive home to have dinner together. We were very disappointed. None of the food ordered for my wife was included. The jumbo jack hamburger I ordered was still warm but very dry, the extreme opposite of the juicy hamburgers you see portrayed on television. The fries were adequate and the milkshakes were okay. This is my only experience with Jack-in-the-Box in Utah, but if this is representative of their food quality then I must give them a big thumbs down. read more

You know, I'm a pretty nice guy. I leave a lot of good reviews when things are good and give people a second and third chance when things go wrong. People are human, make mistakes, and shouldn't be punished for an error. This, however, is a story of not an error, but complete malice. I eat at JitB with my wife about 2x a week. I love it, it's my guilty pleasure of choice. Tonight, while sick, I asked my wife to pick up an order for us I placed via mobile app. All fine, we've done about 30 mobile orders in the past 3 months. She gets there (a 25 minute drive) and gets our order. Hers is right, she eats it in the car. She gets home and my order is not. I ordered a cluck sandwich and egg rolls. She was handed a munchies box which had the seal tape for take out orders. She assumed it was right and drove 25 mins back home. I opened it, wrong box. Super irritating but we take part of the blame for not checking. So I get in the car and we head back. Get there and wait in line. I mentioned I'm sick, so we stay in drive through to minimize contact. Get to the microphone and explain the order was wrong. Lady is already irritated at us saying this, but we paid for food we didn't get and have the wrong box to prove it. Ordered my food. Cluck with extra pickles and a little mustard. Same way I order it on the app. She says it doesn't come with it, we said substitute the good sauce with a little mustard. "Fine come to window". Angrily and curly, but whatever. Get to the window, not a "hey sorry about the mixup" or anything like that. Hey I get it. You're fast food and you don't own the place or care about customer satisfaction, I don't even fault you for it. I've been on the front lines like that and wasn't always pleasant. So not a major issue. Get the food, check, order is right. Head towards home. This is going on an hour and a half from when I placed the order and I was hungry. Open the little pouch for the sandwich and my hand is covered in mustard before I can even grab the sandwich. I take it out of the bag and this thing is bright yellow. Literally there is more mustard on this thing than any human should comfortably eat in a year. Bottom bun is dripping, top bun is dripping, top of top bun is covered. Chicken breading impossible to even see. Look I get it. I ordered a customized order and asked for something you don't normally customize that way. But you literally put a cup of mustard on a sandwich that asked for light mustard. You put it on the top of the bun, the opposite location of where it's expected to go. You were angry we came back and you wanted to teach me a lesson for daring to have you make a sandwich. Pictures attached don't even count the 5 napkins we had to throw out because we had to stop at Maverik to get MORE napkins because I was just too hungry to go back a third time. I dropped the bottom bun on myself. You'll see in the picture this is AFTER I wiped it off with 3 napkins already. Wife convinced me to take a picture of all this when I got home to share. Malicious compliance, not a simple mistake. I don't ever call for anyone to be fired from their jobs, but I definitely want these people to get some sort of formal notice that it's not OK to f with people's meals. read more

I was so excited to see the Jack In the Box by my house was finally open! Yay for more California foods! We went at 9 pm on a Monday and the line was pretty long because I am not alone in my excitement. A security guard was passing out paper menus so we could review the menu and move the line along faster and he also gave my kids cute Jack heads. Awwww I'd forgotten about those! I don't eat gluten so I was happy when they said they could lettuce wrap any burger. I got the ultimate cheeseburger and it was tasty just like I remembered! I would not recommend the fries if you don't eat gluten because the website says the regular fries are GF but I had many random curly fries in there and those DO contain gluten. And just a note to myself- I thought the shake wasn't that great but I think it was pretty standard for fast food. My kids got Jumbo Jacks and the twisted sodas. They accidentally gave me a strawberry red daze- I asked by my daughter's orange twist had whipped cream and my son's strawberry didn't... turns out his was a Red Bull thing!! Oof! So glad I questioned this and so glad I had the Orange to compare it to so my son didn't drink a Red Bull at 10 pm!!! I was excited to learn Jack in the box was going to be close to me again, it was one thing I missed when moving here. I tried this location on Tuesday, the line wasn't as long as I expected it to be. Service was great, a person walked through the drive thru line handing out menus, there were 2 people walking through the drive thru line taking orders. Took a while to receive the food but it was expected. Got to the window and the guy that helped me was so nice and organized. I got home, had all my food. Quality of food was good considering it's fast food. Only issue I had was the lettuce in the spicy chicken sandwich was brown and wilted, tasted old which was disappointing because it did affect the taste of the sandwich. Other than that everything else was great. Tried this location again yesterday. The line was longer. Got to the speaker to place my order and the lady that took my order was rude, sounded like she didn't want to be there. When I got to the window it kinda seemed like a new team from a few days ago that was struggling a little bit on getting it together in a timely manner, no urgency. Do not order in store, delivery or via mobile. Especially late night. They force you to go in to pick up mobile/delivery orders. THEY WILL IGNORE YOU entirely for 30+ minutes past your pickup time. The manager and "customer service" will ONLY serve drive-thru. The only way I was able to get my food was when the guy that assembles burgers ran out of things to do, saw the manager and "customer service" weren't doing their jobs, and went around and expoed for them. The line cook that took care of the dining room customers was the ONLY one there that cared about service quality. This is the WORST location in SLC. Go any time passed 10 pm - good luck. Cars lined up in the drive thru for over 30 minutes and NO ONE will come on to take orders and you will literally be stuck in the drive thru. Cars will start backing out and going inside and everyone will sit in the lobby without being talked to AT ALL. They have the worst customer service, the worst organization, the worst people skills and it's a waste of time. In addition, they're 24 hours but anytime you got and it's dark outside they'll claim they are out of everything. I don't leave reviews, but this has happened like 10x at this location to not say anything anymore. Stuck in the drive thru for 45 minutes for a late night milkshake is INSANITY. The employees were literally talking about customers and refusing service to anyone questioning why no one was speaking on the intercom. It was literally the craziest experience ever.
