I recently took my 17yr old Chihuahua to Del Valle pet hospital. She had an enlarged lymph node in her neck. Dr. Ramirez did her exam and we decided to take the route of antibiotics first which was nice not to have to jump right into something big. We did eventually need to have more tests taken and determined she had a bacterial infection most probably because of her teeth needing a cleaning. Dr. Ramirez came in on her day off just to do the procedure she was concerned because they did not have appointments for a few weeks, I was so appreciative!! Dr. Chaudary is not only professional, skilled, and knowledge, but has clear love and compassion for every animal and every family she treats. She has been able to diagnose and treat my senior maltipoo that has signs of heart failure. I brought him in fearing he was on the brink of death, he was coughing up fleghm and his shortness of breath was terrifying. However being in Dr. Chaudary's care with her expertise and knowledge for her practice he improved significantly. He is able to live out his senior years comfortably due to the continued medication she has prescribed him and the continued treatment she is planning for him. Not only is she an incredible vet, but she is also fair with her pricing and recommendations. She never once made me feel pressured, uncomfortable, or confused with his treatment. This past Sunday we took our 12 year old Weimaraner in on the recommendation of a neighbor. Our regular vet was on vacation. We went in expecting the worst as he wasn't doing well. I am amazed at how well the entire staff we encountered were proffessional, compassionate, and calm in a particularly difficult case. Del Valle Pet Hospital provided the best care possible when we had a sudden emergency with our 11 yr old lab a few months back. We had just moved to Livermore and had never been to this Vet before. We were greeted so warmly and the staff comforted us as we had to make the difficult decision to euthanize our sweet boy. As we sat on the floor with our dog in our arms sobbing uncontrollably, the staff hugged us and showered us with love and kindness. We now bring our other dog to Del Valle for regular check-ups. I brought my cat Indo into Del Valle for an annual exam and was seen by Dr. Chaudhary. During the exam she noticed his stomach had felt weird and recommended x-rays. After taking x-rays and reviewing them, she noticed that there was a foreign object in his stomach. She got us in for surgery last weekend and had found 13 hair ties in his stomach. This is a follow up to my recent prior review in which I described what I felt was a very possible fatal mistake of Dr Chaudhary in allowing 3 vaccines at one time to be given to my dog Cody, a 4 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. FOUR DAYS LATER I had to go to a different vet to get the diagnosis of Hemolytic Anemia a condition where the dog's own immune system attacks its red blood cells. Hemolytic Anemia has a 50% survival rate in the first 3 months and has been linked for many years, to, among other things, 3 vaccines like rabies, DHPP and Bordatella being given concomitantly (given at the same time), which is exactly what Dr Chaudhary allowed to happen on Sept 6. Yesterday Friday, Sept 13, I went to Del Valle to speak once more with Dr Chaudhary, and when I was told once again that she was not there (Is she ever there?) I blew up and told her staff in a very loud voice with other clients nearby, that she killed my dog. I was very emotional. In response, I received a comment on yelp from someone with initials K R accusing me of lying when I said "you killed my dog" in the office and that my dog was alive and well. WELL, YOU FOOL if being on massive doses of prednisone and antibiotics and almost certainly facing a least 1 blood transfusion and less than a 50% chance of even surviving 3 months is" ALIVE AND WELL" then I think you have your interpretation of alive and well a little confused! and....Since only staff members were present, is it just a coincidence that someone with the same initials is raving about Del Valle in a recent review? Is that what Dr Chaudhary has to resort to get compliments? THE TRUE FACTS ARE AS FOLLOWS: (1) Dr Chaudhary will never admit she is wrong about anything. She considers the pet owners comment and input to be worthless and as I said previously, once told my wife to "SHUT UP" when she attempted to add important feedback! She is rude and talks down to her clients (2) 5 years ago when Dr McCool owned Del Valle, had the reputation as the best vet in the area, Del Valle was so busy with 2 full time vets (Dr Rensink and Dr Jensen) plus herself that they stopped accepting new clients. We, my wife and I, felt fortunate to be among her clientele. Dr McCool retired a year ago due to her arthritis and now it is a one woman operation with substitute vets when Dr Chaudhary is not there, which seems to be quite often. I would bet that when existing clients like myself saw the significant shortcomings and attitude of Dr Chaudhary compared to the HIGHEST STANDARD they were used to from Dr McCool, they made a quick exit and went elsewhere, anywhere. I would not be surprised if that exit rate approached up to 50%. I am certain that Dr Chaudhary paid a pretty penny for the business, and when so many clients left, she was forced to open on Saturdays and Sundays to scrape up new business. The loss of clientele is probably also the reason she is unable to afford another regular vet. These substitute vets , like the one I saw, who missed obvious signs of my dog Cody's oncoming Hemolytic Anemia just 2 days before Dr Sekhon was quickly able to diagnose it and begin serious emergency treatment. Substitute vets are unfamiliar with the clients and the pets both and, in general do not have the same ability to recognise really serious conditions. Is that the kind of vet you want to treat your beloved pet? (3 ) If Dr Chaudhary had any kind of decency, personal commitment and empathy, she would have offered, once presented with the facts as I presented to her, and taken responsibility for her inappropriate sanctioning of allowing 3 vaccines to be given to my dog at the same time, (and should have been aware of the studies addressing such issues), as well as the big miss by her substitute vet in not recognizing telling symptoms, to pay for whatever treatment it would take to save my dog, Cody's life, or at the very least shown some concern and apologized for what happened. BUT SHE DID NONE OF THAT AND THE THOUGHT PROBABLY NEVER OCCURRED TO HER. That in itself demonstrates the kind of cold hearted individual she is and why I stand 100% behind my previous review in which I stated DO BUSINESS WITH DEL VALLE AND DR CHAUDHARY AT YOUR AND YOUR PETS OWN RISK!! read more

"Let' s book her $1700 teeth cleaning". I would never, ever consider going to this place again. They'll smile in your face and all the time just want your money. This is the worst Vet Clinic I have ever been too. My sweet dog has had a major ear infection for 3 plus months. They have charged me 675 plus. 3 visits. Each time the put a new medication in her ear. Take her away and let the young girls do the job while the Dr. Just examine. The young girls are not experienced. 1 missed her ear complete while putting the meds in while the other made her cry. The Dr. Just wanted 300 plus to do a culture. Went to another vet and it was amazing what he pulled out of her ear. See blow. He said there was No way any meds would get through this. My poor dog was dripping blood from his rectum. The Dr said and I quote " We cannot do anything without payment". I informed the Dr that I only had half of the $1000 she was quoting me but I would pay the other half within the next 24-48 hours. My dog was clearly suffering and all the Dr cared about was the money. She argued with me and tried to get in my face to intimidate me. She demanded that I tell her that I have faith in her after arguing with me! I never met someone who works in this industry that did not care about the well-being for animals, do not go here! The Dr only cares about money and does not want to help suffering animals. My dog could've lost his life and all she wanted was money- which I could've paid within 24-48 hours. I want to thank Del Valle Pet hospital for how caring they were when I brought my 16 year old cat in to them. Karen at the front desk fell in love with her immediately. She had many medical issues so I made the difficult decision to euthanize her. The staff was wonderful! Ashley, the vet tech who met with me the first time I brought her in stayed late just to be there when we put her down. Then I received a beautiful sympathy note from the staff and they each wrote nice comments inside the card.
