It was delicate, elegant, and genuinely delicious--the flavours were well balanced, and you could tell there was a lot of care put into making it. I definitely wasn't disappointed. That said, it is on the expensive side, so I did find myself expecting a little more flexibility with the service. In particular, I was surprised that they couldn't accommodate a simple name plate on the cake. For a cake at this price point, it seems like a fairly reasonable request, especially when other bakeries offer this on less expensive cakes. The pickup process itself was fine, but keep in mind that pre-orders need to be placed quite a few days in advance, so this isn't really a last-minute cake option. One other practical note: if you're ordering during the summer, make sure you get it into the fridge as soon as possible after pickup. The tiramisu is quite delicate and doesn't hold up well sitting out in the heat. Overall, a beautiful and delicious cake that I would happily have again, although the price and some of the ordering limitations are worth keeping in mind.

The maple sea salt lattes looked beautiful and my doughnut was delicious as usual (big fan of the french crueller). Unfortunately, our maple sea salt lattes were very very strong and had no maple or sea salt flavoring in my opinion. I decided to ask the girl at the register if we could please get a different drink because it was super strong and didn't taste good. I was met with SO much attitude, i was actually shocked. I went into it very friendly and politely asked for an alternate drink as i did spend $12 on these two drinks (and life gets expensive!!). She then goes "well, you probably don't like the taste of coffee then".... I actually didn't know how to respond. But i did say "I'm a huge 49th fan and love coffee!". Then I had asked how many shots are in the small and she said "2". I then had asked if we could get a new/different drink and she goes "I'll give it to you this one time, but next time you'll have to pay." This is NOT the way to treat a paying customer. It felt so rude and accusatory. I very rarely come to Kits, so she wouldn't have recognized me and am an honest girl who works hard for my money. When the customer comes up politely, you offer to make it right. I hope the next person that comes up not satisfied with their drink is treated a lot better than how I was.

Finally walked over and after several exchanges, determined it was our coffees. I provided the pager and said it did not go off. The attendant then reached down and activated it. Nice. No apologies. Beautiful space but with poor service, I have no intentions of returning to this or any of the Small Victory Bakery's.
