This last weekend I went into DeLaurenti on Saturday at 3:30. I told the lady working there that I was wanting to get some flowers for my eight-year-old daughter's dance recital. She asked me how much I wanted to spend, and I said I would like to look a price sheet. She wouldn't provide one. She asked me which flowers I liked, and I liked the mums. She proceeded to put together a bouquet. As she was putting it together she still hadn't given me a price and asked me if I had cash. I said I had $40 cash. She finished putting together the bouquet and then told me it was $40. This interaction felt unethical. And as you can see from the picture the tiny bouquet wasn't work $40. read more

We needed some flowers for my father-in-law's funeral. I decided to go to DeLaurenti Florist because it is close to my house and convenient. I had two specific arrangements in mind with pictures. I had received an estimate from the local grocery store. When I went to DeLaurenti they could do the exact arrangements for half the price. In addition, I asked for simple table arrangements - I could buy them at Costco for $25 but the ones we received (for the same price) were beautiful with a variety of flowers and greenery. I did not come to DeLaurenti Florist for a pleasant occasion. Flowers are for celebration and also to mourn. I needed a sympathy bouquet on short notice and also I wanted one that I could pick up in Bellevue as I had a few things I wanted to deliver to my friends in their time of grief. I called when the shop opened and Robert answered the phone. I told him what I needed, the price point I wanted to spend, and that I wanted yellow flowers since the deceased's favorite color was yellow. Robert asked about white and I said it was a good complimentary color but yellow should be the highlight. He asked when I wanted to pick them up and I told him in about six hours time. He said no problem. I arrived pretty much at the time I said and he was just finishing up. Our comes this bouquet and it is gorgeous. Roses, lilies, and other lovely flowers. It is fragrant and beautiful. And huge. I think Robert was afraid that it was too large as he offered several times to help me to my car but I knew if I couldn't get them in I couldn't get them out! They sat perfectly on my car's passenger side floor and made the trip without a hitch as it was packed and balanced well. Their arranging surprises me each time. The most surprising part though is how long they last. Most cut flowers take a huge effort to last a week, but DeLaurenti's cut flowers last well into 10 days, with a small amount of pruning. DeLaurenti's really does excellent work. They usually have some pre-made bouquets that are simply to-die-for. But, it only takes about 10 minutes to get a custom bouquet if they are running behind. On my latest trip, they were behind, so they asked my price range ($40), and what color palette/style I was going for. I asked for something with good color, evoking fall fun. What I got was an incredibly creative arrangement with some green orchids, orange roses, fall foliage, and a GIANT pre-historic-looking green leaf. They wrapped it all up in nice paper and plastic so I could take it home. They were under my budget, so I got a card too. I've been here for bouttoniers, corsages, centerpieces.
