Worst service I've ever received, had a reservation made online, apparently they don't send reservation emails. showed up and got our cart on a Saturday in June, obviously busy they were sold out and reservation only, turned it back in on time and everything go home from the island, and the next day see my card was double charged. They tried to tell me my reservation was for Sunday and not Saturday and refused to give me back my money because "how dare I ask for my money back from a small business" and the guy was rude when my voice wasn't even raised. Will never come back to this place again, literally every other shop on the island has better customer service than this trash ass sad sap of a business. read more

Rented a cart for the weekend. When we picked the cart up there was no padlock to secure when not in use. After we returned we were questioned on the lock. We stated there was not when we picked it up.The employee wanted to argue with us and was adamant. After much back and forth we were charged and additional $10 for a replacement lock. The cart was very dirty with trash and needed to be serviced. If possible avoid them, customers service is NOT a top priority for them. read more

We were there on June 20,2020 and rented (one) 6person golf cart because they were out of 4 person golf carts. We were charged $156.50. I am assuming we were charged for two carts per an explanation from an earlier response. We tried to question it that evening but it was so chaotic . At the time there was another couple there yelling at one a young female employees and had thrown an object that struck her in the leg. We rented the cart at around 6/6:30 to 9:00pm. We would like to get the money we were overcharged refunded back to our card. I have emailed SEVERAL times as well as emailing the owner with no response except one stating we rented two carts. I have called any numbers that I can find but all say I have to communicate thru email but only one response to say we rented two carts which we did not, and they will not respond back to any other emails. I am absolutely astounded by the lack of customer service by this company. I had accidentally made a reservation for the wrong day and immediately tried to cancel. I followed the rules on the rental agreement exactly to cancel it. I received no reply so I tried an email address for "Mark" at pibohmark@putinbayresort.com. This name and email was given by the answering service. Still No reply. I waited 3 weeks. I tried calling the answering service again and all they could say was follow what the agreement says and if that doesn't work there is no other way to do it unless I show up. If I showed up it would be too late to cancel it. So I try emailing again today and got a response. I would not even give this service any stars. I told him this interaction would reflect on Yelp. It is no surprise when I signed on to Yelp that every review was terrible too! Made a reservation online the night before our arrival for a 6 person cart. When we arrived they told us we would have to take two 4 person carts. I accepted just one 4 person cart because there ended up only being 4 of us anyways. The cart we received had just been returned and we heard the customers make a complaint about it. We took the cart anyways, but soon realized there was definitely something wrong. When we returned the cart the worker asked his co-worker which cart to rent out to the customers being helped and she told him not to rent the one we had just returned because something is wrong with it and it's not okay. So we were given an unstable cart when the establishment had knowledge of the flaw. Not okay, considering the high prices. The first day we got there we went to get out cart that we had rented online. We rented it for two days because that was the duration of our stay. Long story short, we decided to leave a day early. To our surprise they do not offer refunds unless you cancel 24 HOURS before. The first woman we talked to was trying to be helpful and she was actually being polite about the mess...a second woman came up to the counter and told us NO REFUNDS. They said yes and offered to make the reservation They took our credit card info and we said we would be there in an hour. I received a cart from Delaware Golf Carts that was dirty, and had plenty of cobwebs. The golf cart was very basic - not all of the lights worked properly, it didn't have mirrors, and it was not very fast. The cart broke down, and I had to call to have them to bring another cart. After a while, a guy showed up with our replacement cart who was not very pleasant. The replacement cart was just as dirty, and slow, but the only plus was that it had a mirror unlike the first. Based on a quick walk-around survey of Put-in-Bay golf cart rentals, Delaware Golf Carts were the cheapest after adding in the $5 coupon from the Jet Express guidebook (for a total of $45 before tax) and much more reasonable then the $80/day price asked by the rental place just off the dock. Most other golf cart rentals nearby seemed to be in the $50 - $60 per day range. On the other hand, the carts were old and worn down, lacked any zip, and still had trash from previous users. To top it off, a business card for "adult entertainment services" was stuck in the rearview mirror. Stay classy DGC! read more

This golf cart rental place is not accommodating nor organized. We placed a reservation two days prior to our arrival and did not get a charge to the credit card or a confirmation email. This made me suspicious so I made a call to the business only to get a girl who simply picks up the phone and could not answer my questions. We took the boat to the island and went to the business to pick up our "reserved" golf cart and others had the same issue as us. After an hour of waiting in line we get to the window and the girl told us our reservation did not go through. How was I supposed to know when they do not send anything to confirm our rental. June 20, 2014. Rented cart and it died on us when we were at farthest point from town. Called them for help and they said they would get to us when they could but they were busy!! They refused to tell us when someone would come. We asked if we could leave the cart and get a taxi and they said NO, we could not leave the cart. An hour later after we had to call the cops, Delaware sent a dude to tow us and still charged us full price NO discount and they didn't care at all. Terrible experience, would not recommend renting a cart from this establishment. The service was unorganized and incredibly rude! When trying to call for more information you get connected to an outsourced clerk who can't even take reservations. If you are taking Millers Fairy across don't even bother with this place; it's all the way in town in between two buildings. Yet they don't tell you that on the site; it says its a 4 minute walk from the ferry, but they fail to say which. When I think of the ferry I don't think Jet express. I would give them 0 stars if I could. I am so mad at myself for not reading the reviews before I booked online. I chose Delaware cart rental because it advertised that you could pay by the hour. I booked online and when I picked up the cart was charged for a full day, and they were unwavering and rude about it. The cart looked junkier than other companies' carts, had trash from the previous renter in it, had a crack in the roof. But the worst thing is that the car went slow, so slow. Other carts were passing us. This isn't an issue in town but when driving around the island it is a HUGE issue. I called to ask to switch it out and they told me that all of their carts are slow and that they set the speed on PURPOSE. Are you kidding me? And they would not allow me to return the cart and get a refund so that I could rent a decent and functioning cart from somewhere else. And there are SOOO many places to rent nice carts from, everywhere, far closer to the ferry. Don't be scared into thinking there won't be a cart somewhere else, there are tons and tons of carts everywhere. Rent somewhere else. Anywhere else. read more

They claim in their advertising that they have 'the newest fleet of golf carts on the island," We reserved a cart online in advance and majority of the carts were damaged or very worn and did not resemble any picture in their ads. The cart we received, and this may have been the best, was full of cigarette butts, empty water bottles and worn seats. Do not rent from here! This place is a joke! I made reservations online and it states once you make the reservations you will receive a confirmation. I still have not received a confirmation from a reservation I tried to make 10/10/20! I just called them bc I disputed the 1st charge, as we called and canceled the same night (bc we reserved elsewhere when we did not get a confirmation and did not know if they even received our reservation). The lady i spoke with on 10/10/20 told me that it was "no problem" and would cancel the reservation. Fast forward to 12/1/20, they charged my card again!! I have never received services from them, so I called my bank. The bank said that this company provided documentation that i was in fact there and did receive my rental. I call them again tonight and the guy tells me "managment is out until April" and basically told me there was nothing that can be done. I told him I have never received services and that I did call and cancel and the lady told me "no problem" and he said "we don't even have a phone number"? Well, i called him, on the number posted on their site! He then said he wasn't sure how i got the number (even though he answered "Delaware rentals" and when I told him it was on their site, he said they have it in case the carts break down while you are out? I explained everything and he said they get so many complaints about this a week. I said that should clearly tell them something and that they have terrible reviews. He said they "rent out over 20,000 carts a year and that if there are only a few hundred bad reviews, that must not be too bad." He told me he was sending the email confirmation to me again; still do not have it! They have horrible customer service, their website and reservation services are horrible and not clear at all and we rented elsewhere. When we rented from the other place, they told us they hear people complain about this company all the time and they have terrible service. So here it is, Christmas time, and I am now being charge for a service I did not receive, with no confirmation for a reservation from 2 months ago! do yourself a favor, and go elsewhere! I reserved a 4 person cart online for Sept 2nd and on day of pick up I wanted to pay cash for the rental. I asked the girl if I paid cash if my credit card would be charged and she said no that the card was just to hold the rental. So she was handed a $100 and I filled out the contract and left my drivers license. I returned the rental that eve and got my drivers license in return. At time of pick up it was a mad house there and so un organized, the cart was filthy with trash . After I got back home the next day I realized my credit card had been charged for the rental. I called the number and was told to email from the site. I emailed the next day and it took 7 days for a reply, after going back and forth with This guy Mark he refuses to refund the money I paid twice, he said I need a receipt...which I was not handed a receipt nor asked if I want one. I trusted what the employee told me that my card would not be charged, otherwise I would of not given them cash. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. The two girls at the rental desk were too busy having a personal discussion to concentrate on us. The carts are filthy and slow and on top of that they rented us one that was almost out of gas. Luckily we made it back to exchange it for another P.O.S cart. We had rented the cart overnight and when we returned it we found out they had only charged for the day rental because the girl we rented the cart from was too busy with her conversation to realize what had happened. The owner then charged us the extra $20 plus tax per cart. When we objected to this he told us he was doing us a favor by not charging the hourly rate of a overnight rental even though it was his employee's fault for not charging the correct amount in the beginning. Had the worst experience at this place. Staff was very rude. The child that was behind the counter literally tossed my keys on the counter and turned her back to me. I Was not told any time that my cart needed to be returned. Paid $108 to have my cart a measly 6 hours and have it taken and returned without my knowledge, while I was in a restaurant. After going back to the place to ask why the took my cart back, I was treated very poorly once again by the staff. Finally found where they had parked the cart and was able to get my personal belongings out of it. Wouldn't ever recommend this place to anyone. read more

Please DO NOT rent from this place. Customer service was awful. Prices was much higher due to Christmas in July weekend. There was no flat rate, had to rent by the hour ($15 per hour) and it was a $200 deposit. Our cart was stolen, reported it to both police and Delaware where we were told carts are stolen all the time because all keys are the same. I was told I would receive my deposit back once cart was found. I was also told they would call by the next day and not to worry. No phone call. Called Monday morning only to find that I could only speak to someone that could help via e-mail. I correspondent with the owner regarding situation when he told me my cart was found and no money was due. When I replied back and asked when can I expect my deposit back he told me my deposit was used for out time at $25 per hour and cart was found at 11am next day. When I explained I was told money would be refunded as long as cart was found he never replied and have yet to speak with someone regarding my concerns. Getting ahold of these guys is like trying to call your cousin in 1866 there "answering service" at one of the motels on the island is a joke .
