I appreciate that very much: try to get that level of service in Home Depot or Lowe's! Despite being busy, I've always found that they're willing to spend the time to consider how a given problem can be solved. One other thing I also appreciate: when you order a tool or part needed, it's always there when promised. (I've been trying for months to get a part from a store located a few blocks away... always promised, but somehow the order gets lost or just doesn't come in.) The people here make the difference. She showed true empathy, but she didn't accomplish what I wanted (or needed) to get done... have two (2) thresholds installed between two (2) carpeted rooms that abut a common tiled floor. I told her I went to the local HD store to try and buy the thresholds myself, but no one at the store helped me. The reason I wanted the thresholds installed was because the carpeting was loose and coming up in the doorways and HD's contractor (USIG) had to come back to fix their mistakes/sloppy work. The reason for the carpeting coming up? They cut the carpeting a tad too short for the doorway!! After spending over $3,000 for new carpeting, what would it have cost HD to install two thresholds? HD's contractor, USIG, wasn't responsive to my request, and sometimes, hard to deal with. In short, if I have to hire a handyman, I will; and my HD card will never see the light of day at an orange cash register ever again!!

With each of these failures, I had to make a 103-mile round trip. Truly exasperating. Stay with the name brands... if you can find them. I had almost the same experience with a lawn mower purchased there; similarly, with a gas-engine leak blower; and with a backpack type gas-powered sprayer. Basic tools are worth buying, but I've had a couple of sockets strip or wear out much too quickly.

Stopped in a week later, and nothing had come in. Told to come back next Tuesday. The next Tuesday, nothing I'd ordered had come in. Told that shipments are received Tuesday mornings, and to come back next week. Same for the following Tuesday. Same for the next week. I finally got the idea, and went into Phoenix to order from a competitor. Got a phone call the next morning: all the gear I needed came in. Gave me a discount for paying cash. The discount paid for both round trips worth of gas for my truck. Lesson learned.

Got my outlet then decided to get 2 keys made. He was done so quick and they work! If you need something for home repair check them out. They don't price gouge you either. It's located in Cortes Lakes 1 or 2 streets past the library. Look for the Uhauls. Even the Uhauls were clean and newer. A couple guys just helping the community.

I had a small used plumbing part in my hand and knew I just need to go in, match the size and color to what they have on display on wall hooks, checkout and leave. As got out of my vehicle near the front door . . . again, at 5:54 pm . . . an employee who was wheeling products sitting outside on the sidewalk into the store said they are closing. I showed him the used part I had in my hand and said I just need to run in and grab it off a wall hook display, purchase it and leave. He emphasized their need to close. Another customer drove up after me and parked next to me, then entered Sunwest True Value behind me. I ignored the snarky employee, went to the plumbing section, could not find what I needed in the size and color I needed and began leaving at 5:56 pm. Instead, when I turned around the snarky employee who was closing the store at 5:54 pm was behind me. He had followed me. I explained they did not have what I needed, therefore I said I need to get out of here because they close at 6:00 pm. The snarky employee instead insisted on looking at what I had and began searching on the wall hooks for the part I needed. I reminded him the store is closing at 6:00 pm, they do not have the part that I need, so I need to leave. He said, 'Well, I'm here to help you'. I explained they do not have it, reminded him they close at 6:00 pm, but he still insisted. So I stood there while he searched the same display I had just searched. He turned around and said to me they do not have what I need. He followed me back to the front door telling me where I can alternatively go find the part that I needed somewhere else or something like that. As I walked by the cashier, the customer that arrived after me had also already found what they came for, was paying for it and then exited out behind me. I was pleased I was able to at least distract the snarky employee so the other customer could get in to get what he needed without being lectured the entire time like I was. I'll be curious to see if this True Value franchisee is able to survive based on 1) the way they communicate with their customers, plus 2) selling enough volume by closing earlier than their posted closing times. They should at least post their true closing time of 5:54 pm, instead of misleading people by posting 6:00 pm as their closing time.

Online I found a Rubbermaid 32 gallon black can with wheels. This was a good deal. I didn't put the coupon code when I bought it online. I had to go to the back office and they had to cancel my order and then go up to the front and pay using the coupon. That was pretty silly. I then went to pick up the can. I had to go to the back of the store . One of the helpers went into where they store the online merchandise. He came back with the can and handed me a brand new can that had streaks of dust and dirt all over. It's not a big deal but I thought to myself, you would think the store would take some pride in keeping their products looking clean and new. Ace is a small outfit trying to compete with Low's and Home Depot. You would think customer service would be paramount in getting new business. They didn't win me over.
