I have had this humble little spot on my "want-to-go list" for over a year. I made it today for lunch! Brought my best friend and a pretty lady, and we had a very tasty time of it. The sandwich menu is wonderful! We had three of the tastiest from the long list. I had the chicken salad on squaw bread. It was delicious. The girl had the chicken and avocado on focaccia bread. The bread was amazing and delicious. My buddy had the Italian and he loved it but commented that the bread was not soft enough? The service was excellent and smiling, the parking was easy the table in the window was ideal. My buddy got the Mac and cheese to take home to his missus. The chocolate chip cookies are to die for and the brownies are too good. The club is perfect. My favorite thing is the spicy chicken burger with fries. Dear Delllicious, I've been a customer of yours since 2014 when I had one of the best French dips I've ever had and wrote a glowing yelp review for you. I've always enjoyed my trips back to your restaurant. However, over the past couple of years, there's been a dramatic reduction in the actual product that I'm getting for my money. Two years ago, I showed my sandwich to the girl at front. There was barely any meat and it had been way over cooked and was more like beef jerky than a French dip. Despite that, I remained a customer and continued to visit every so often. However, today's my last day. The attached picture is the amount of meat that I got on my sandwich today. Despite having brought that up a year or more ago, nothings changed. If there is 2 ounces of meat on today's sandwich, I would be shocked. I'm sad to let you guys go as a (infrequent) establishment, but I'd rather invest my time in money at John's Philly grill or SubCulture. If you don't believe me, I'll pay for you to visit John's Philly Grill, and pick up a half sandwich. The price point is almost the same and the product is exponentially better. Deli- Licious is located in business plaza with plenty of parking, with dog friendly seating (2 wooden benches outside) My husband and I came by here last weekend for a late lunch, around 3 pm. We made an order through our Eat 24 app about 15 minutes beforehand. We ended up ordering: 1/2 Made-to-Order Sandwich & House Salad ($7.75 + $1.50 prior to tax for specialty sandwich/ salad)- I ended up ordering 1/2 Sue's Chicken-Avocado Caprese & 1/2 Auntie Lala's Spinach Waldorf Salad. The salad was a pretty good size portion and really liked the shredded lettuce, chopped pecans and dried cranberries in this salad, with the sweetness and different textures. This salad could easily be shared for 2 or be enough to be a whole meal on itself. I loved the salad dressing. The sandwich was very filling, even at half the size. The sandwich had a thick slice of tomato, cheese, avocado and a large piece of chicken. Definitely a delicious sandwich and would order this along with this salad combination meal again. R.J.'s Fried Pastrami Reuben, $8.75 prior to tax- My husband ordered this sandwich, which was nice that it came cut in half. The pastrami was tender and flavorful. This place would usually be 4-5 Stars, however, the last two times we've been there it has not been the normal employee (older male) who is always helpful and friendly. The newer employee (younger female) was not helpful or accommodating in the least. We ended up walking out without ordering. The regular employee (at my request) in the past made me a prime rib sandwich after I saw they had a prime rib salad on the menu. It was amazing and would have been my go to sand which but the younger female simply stated "we don't have a prime rib sandwich" and wouldn't even try to accommodate the request, even though they still had a prime rib salad. read more

Yep, Deli-licious is as amazing as everyone else describes. Nooooo doubt this is one of the best deli places in HB, if not in OC. HB seems to be the home of the deli ( sub-culture, huckleberry's to name a few) and Deli-licious lives up to the hype! I went over in the late afternoon, and my first recommendation for this place is to put some lights around your sign, it was difficult to locate at dusk, it's on the east side of Gothard, just south of Heil st. Walking in, I really liked the Xmas decorations, and the lady who took my order was very pleasant, and was patient with helping me make a decision--- The pastrami reuben sandwich was just awesome. What I like is they used leaner pastrami, not that fatty meat you get at these diner hybrid restaurants. The meat obviously has quality, and you can taste it. The meat is cooked in some olive oil, and if you look at the pic I posted you can see how the oil seeped into the bread, it was PERFECTLY balanced. With extra pickles, light sauerkraut, and soft bread, this made a 5 star sandwich! I also got a turkey sandwich on squaw bread with extra cucumbers; it was perfectly balanced with sprouts and just delicious. The portion was healthy, and worth it. Expect to spend about 7-10$ per sandwich, and I am really looking forward to coming back. The Hype is real! read more

Last time I ate at Deli-licious the couple in the next table was going on and on about the "American Style" deli sandwich. They said it's so good it's all they order. I have to say.... this sandwich defies logic. It's so simple yet so amazing. You choose a meat and a cheese.... in my case I had turkey and swiss. It's cooked on the grill and topped with vinegar based cabbage slaw, tomato, french fries, and "special sauce". This simple combination of ingredients made for one magical sandwich. The french fries add a pleasant texture and flavor. The starchiness of the fries counteracts the vinegar of the slaw. The thousand island type sauce went so well with the cheese and meat. So frickin good!! I highly recommend you try this sandwich. It was loaded with so much meat I was stuffed after finishing. I bought some of the cookies from "Three Hearts Bakery" which they sell by the register so I can't wait to try those tonight. read more

I got the French dip specialty with a side of fries. Absolutely delicious and simple. You definitely need ketchup with the fries because they are unseasoned and a bit bland but I prefer it that way to salty fries. They also taste pretty healthy, kind of like unsalted in n out fries. The au jus is the best I have ever had and I found myself even dipping my fries in there (don't judge). The interior decoration is very beachy/shack-y but it's quite fun to look at while you wait. The bathroom is also a kicker...but in a home-y way. It's all very hard to describe but be sure to check it out this "Californian" joint for yourself. I been through the most of the menu and my favorites are the following: Sue's Chicken-Avocado Caprese Marge's Grilled Italian Roma Sub R.J.'s Fried Pastrami Reuben I recommend you eat the sandwich at the restaurant or at least the package on the way home. No one likes soggy bread =( I like extra pickle goodness and they sell it cut or whole. I like it whole. Don't forget to get some Three Hearts baked goods. They are AWESOME. 4.5 stars read more

It is exploding with charm with it's mismatching chairs, crazy tables and cloth tablecloths. I did my yelp homework and got a french dip and a chicken caprese to split with Virak R. We also got a side of fries for William R. I cracked up at Eugine Y.'s review because low and behold, "Lisa Loeb" took my order. She was very nice, but tremendously busy between taking orders on the phone, filling orders, taking my order, talking to the cooks and telling a contractor that she needed some booths in her place. But hey, she got all that stuff done while I ordered and didn't miss a beat. The fries came and were waaaay over-salted and the limpest fries I have ever encountered. These fries are the reason that this place is not getting 5 stars from me...sad but true. They should either crisp those puppies up or take them off the menu all together. Just a suggestion, but how about letting us salt them ourselves? The French Dip came and time stopped. This was a masterpiece I tell ya. Perfection. I will come back and order this and only this and no you can't have a bite. I made the mistake of eating my half of the French Dip before my half of the Chicken Caprese. This was a big no no. You see, the Caprese was fine, it was very good, but was not nearly as perfect at the French Dip, thus overshadowing the Caprese. There were so many indications this place was going to be good The girl at the tint shop said to check this place out its really tasty. I read Yelp and it had positive reviews from some Yelp friends. But alas, I was going to be let down like a recent date. I ordered one of the specials - the Reuben @ 8.99 - the 5th most popular sandwich on the menu. Their basic sandwiches are $8 and you choose the meat, bread and fixins. You can also order 1/2 sandwiches. The Reuben was disappointing :( The sandwich did not have much meat (pic) and I kept on looking for the sauerkraut & cheese. "I mean, a Reuben has sauerkraut & cheese doesn't it?" The dressing was blase. The meat was not good or bad - it was just unmemorable. I have had the pastrami at Katz in NYC, Langers and Yorkshire Grill in LA, and even the #9 at Togos, and this joint's pastrami was not even close. The sandwich was good sized but the ingredients didn't make my taste buds pop. The service was OK. The ladies are nice and friendly. The joint is casual with a TV inside and two tables outside. I was also offered a refill on my soda a few times. This place is a bit out of the way for me. Lately, I've become a hermit in South Orange County so I have no idea places like Deli-licious exist. A few of us met here to celebrate a birthday and hang out. It was a blast to chill with Anita, Mahesh, Donna, Chris, Dan, Melissa, Andrea, Erin, and finally meet my Lake Forest girls - Michelle and Mary (and her hubby, Robert) in Huntington Beach of all places. Go figure. This sandwich shop is super tiny and can easily be missed if you're driving by so look for a bright red and yellow sign near the Poverello Coffee House. We packed the house with 20 Yelpers however the orders came out fast. I tried Sue's Chicken Avocado Caprese sandwich. It's stuffed with roast chicken, tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil with a lemon caper mayo spread on ciabetta bread. I loved that the bread was lightly toasted and buttered. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. I couldn't taste the caper spread but loved the mozarella, basil, and avocado - three unique flavors but they worked out well in my sandwich. I got a side of mac 'n' cheese with my sandwich however I think the sandwich itself was enough. You get two huge slices and the mac 'n' cheese wasn't quite as flavorful. I had to add salt and I hate salt but that's the only thing that gave it any flavor. Unfortunately, this deli is only open on the weekdays so it would be hard to make another trek out this way but if I'm in the area I would definitely stop here again for another sandwich. read more

First of all, the name is very appropriate. The food assembled at Deli-licious is of the deli genre, and it is delicious. The only dish I sampled that I would rate as very good rather than outstanding was the Minestrone Soup. It featured elbow macaroni, kidney beans, cubed potatoes, carrots, onions, zucchini, and a tasty broth. But it was perhaps too mellow and lacked sizzle to stand out the way other offerings clearly did. Taylor's Famous French Dip and accompanying au jus were simply great, sporting nice and lean slices of roast beef and Provolone Cheese nestled inside a soft hoagie roll. IMHO, from my gastronomic experiences to date, only the French Dip and au jus served by Emeril Lagasse's Lagasse's Stadium at The Palazzo in Las Vegas surpasses Deli-licoius' variety in flavor, taste, and sheer scrumptiousness. And, the beef presented by the celebrity chef is highest quality shaved Prime Rib. Both sandwiches melt beautifully when dipped in their respective au jus. The fast food fries that accompanied the beef dip at Deli-licious were very tasty, as well, and I liked that this deli also featured Boar's Head Kosher Dill Pickles, and would slice one into spears upon request. While there, I also had a hefty bite of Sue's Chicken-Avocado Caprese. The cool and smooth avocado contrasted nicely with the savory chicken breast. I just would have enjoyed my bite even more with the addition of a couple of bacon strips to provide an added crunch. Deli-licious is a storefront operation, with a cozy, welcoming dining area--although it was spooked up for Halloween with whimsical decorations. Orders were taken efficiently, and free soft drink refills were offered without waiting for such a request. I expect to be back! read more

On my quest to find the best French Dip in OC, I found Deli-licious: your friendly, neighborhood deli located in the Gothard industrial area of HB. The first thing I noticed about the place was it's cozy environment and welcoming customer service. The girls behind the counter were all super friendly, inviting and seemed to know all their customers names. My type of place! The cashier recommended the French Dip which was exactly what what I came to try. The roast beef was moist and had good flavor, the cheese was nicely melted and the bread was nice and toasty without being too doughy. I generally don't like horseradish, so I requested it on the side. Good call because like most horseradish sauces it was too poignant for my taste. Overall though, the French Dip was pretty good sandwich and I would certainly recommend it. I would pass on their mac & cheese though. I should have known that anything that looked that delicious in the photos was bound to disappoint. While the macaroni was loaded with an ooey gooey creamy cheese sauce and topped with Parmesan, it lacked bite and was actually pretty bland. A couple of forks full and I was over it. Nummy Nummy Nummy I got love in my tummy :) I worked in HB for 5yrs til we moved our offices to Downtown LB, but I still frequent HB a lot since my nail shop, carwash and piercer is there. Plus I love the weather. I've always passed this place and wanted to go and after reading the reviews a while back, I knew I really wanted to come here. I was smart, I read all the reviews about the food taking some to be put out, so I called that ish in (wise decision people) The lady over the phone was very nice. I took my sweet time getting over there. I walk in and I have this dumb dude that seemed like he already ordered still standing there, get the F out of my way ya goob. Anywho I think grams was working the cashier and it was cute but she didn't know what some things cost and had to ask I assume a family member. It was quite busy so I didn't get a full feel of the customer service, since all I had was a pick up, they were still nice either way. So I get home and open my sammy. I ordered the infamous Sue's caprese sammie. Wow that was goooood. I usually hate ciabatta bread because its usually always uber dry. But not this ciabatta, seemed fresh baked that day and had a touch of olive oil on it. The mozzarella was again fresh and the chicken was great. I could do without the avocado but it all still tasted great either way. Just an all around fresh sandwich. I also had to try that mac and cheese since people spoke of that one as well. I've come to except the best macs are either hood mac and cheeses and or gourmet eatery mac and cheeses. At first taste, theirs seemed a little bland. But after more and more bites it became more flavorful and I added some pepper and it was good, nice and subtle.
