I love me a good Jersey bagel! We made an unexpected visit to Deli on a Bagel Cafe around 11 AM and it was BUSY. There were a couple tables open, and several customers walking in for to-go orders back to back. All the bagel sandwiches coming out from the kitchen looked amazing. I ordered an Asiago bagel with vegetable cream cheese. I asked for it toasted and it was lightly toasted and loaded with cream cheese. I haven't eaten a bagel like this in a while. The cashier was friendly and repeated our order back to us. It took about 15 mins for 3 bagel sandwiches and 1 toasted bagel to be ready. They have a wide selection of bottled drinks at the front and it appears you can get cold cuts from the deli area as well. read more

My experience is why Yelp is helpful. Came in for the first time and it was crowded like most bagel joints are on a Saturday morning. Made my simple order of a BEC and an untoasted chocolate bagel. After I made my order, the guy behind the counter said 25 mins after I paid. Should have said that before for a very simple order. Waited 30 mins. Everyone customer in the joint was pissed with service. Finally got order and they gave me the wrong untoasted bagel. Had to walk back in and tell them. Register guy acted annoyed and took back the wrong bagel that I had already handler and tossed it back into the bin with his money touching hands. Issue with this place is ownership/management. Totally manger incorrectly. Will never go back and recommend others avoid. read more

I don't know what took us so long to find this place. We never went past Penn bagel, & now I think we found a new spot and actually got way more food for wayyy less. We got one western omelette, chorizo burrito, 2 orders of home fries came with it, I got a bagel with cream cheese and 2 bottle drinks. It's so much food too. I'll be back! I ordered online and have food allergies. It's my own fault, ultimately, that I did not call to ask for the ingredients of what I was buying. I trusted the online ordering system that had a box to check if you wanted a call if your items did not match your food allergies, which I listed as no gluten and no dairy. I was not called and received a product made entirely of cheese. I think the check box should not be on the ordering system. The manager called me to tell me how it was all my fault and I should do better at calling and checking, since they haven't had a complaint in the ten years they have served those bagels. I think that is a strange form of customer shaming, when all I was asking for was that the employees know what is in the products, or they take the check box saying they will call you off the ordering. Been to this place two times in two weeks and same #2 breakfast sandwich was excellent both times--best breakfast sandwich I've ever had hands down. Everything tastes fresh and the secret as best I can tell is the combination of ingredients: sausage, crushed bacon pcs. Scrambled eggs and Swiss AND the addition of a hash brown--I think that's the key. It's extremely filling as well. Very satiating. I've ordered online and picked up and no issues. I really don't know how to describe my experience here. This was an impulsive quick lunch decision and as I entered I thought to myself that I may be discovering a nice place close to work I will be coming back to, more often. This is a casual cafe serving all day breakfast, sandwiches and coffee, bagels being there core strength I believe. Since it was lunch time I went with a grilled chicken smothered sandwich that comes with sautéed onions and mushrooms, and of course cheese. My sandwich was served exactly in 5 minutes, devoid of any flavor! Just a large piece of grilled chicken sitting in a Kaiser roll, along with some wilted onions & mushrooms. I'm very sure the onions and mushrooms were not freshly sautéed for the order, and the chicken was pre-grilled. Basically they put together everything and served it (probably heated up the fillings on a griddle). My meal in a line - Absolutely bland, no hint of any seasoning. The folks at Deli (Abe and team) are incredible. They are caring and attentive and do an awesome job each and every day. They get to know their customers and always greet you with a smile. They remember their clients even when you call ahead simply based on the order..."is this for Mark?". When my father passed away and we had the post funeral gathering at our home we gave Abe and team the code to the door, they set up everything for us while we were at the cemetery and it was amazing both the dairy and bagels tray and the deli arrangement were perfect. First time coming in for lunch and was so lovely to find such a gem in Pennington. Got a fresh squeezed juice while I waited for my two sandwiches and it was so fresh and delicious (carrot, celery, cucumber, apple). Ordered the balsamic chicken and the crispy chicken sandwich which my husband and I shared - both were delicious with quality ingredients. Moreover, all the staff were so friendly - immediately noticed that when I entered and while ordering - especially patient with me as I was trying to figure out the vast menu. Ended up speaking with Jimmy one of the co-owners/managers and will certainly return because you can tell they really care and offer quality food. The comfy chairs were a nice touch and only when I exited I realized they have awesome outdoor seating - next time will be sure to enjoy some bagels outdoors.
