What a disgraceful experience at this sandwich shop. I personally witnessed behavior that was rude, indifferent, and unmistakably discriminatory. My husband waited 35 minutes for an order of two sandwiches--while other customers arrived after him, placed their orders, and walked out with food in hand. He was ignored the entire time, left standing as if invisible.When he finally asked about the delay, the dismissive response was that "the kitchen was busy," delivered as though he hadn't been watching everyone else being served around him. I called in a takeout around 1 and it was ready 15 minutes later as promised. I went with a simple chicken salad, but wanted more so I also ordered onion rings and zucchini fries. The fries were pretty bad. Obviously overcooked, and a small portion as well. Hard pass. The onion rings were very good. Thinner rings done perfectly with a seemingly buttermilk batter. I'd reorder anytime. The chicken salad on Kaiser roll was well made. A lightly toasted roll which held up to the creamy and tasty salad, slices of bacon lettuce and tomato completed this simple classic. I'd reorder this as well, but other sandwiches sounded tempting too. Customer service was friendly and professional. When I asked where the plump bagels hailed from I was informed that this is a sister store of Deli on a Bagel. A clean and open industrial decor seemed well thought out for lunch rushes. An awesome sandwich shop! Plenty of options for everyone even for GF folks. They have a menu with sandwiches plus drinks in the back and snacks along the wall. They have a ton of seating in the back, the front, and outdoors. I enjoyed my breakfast sandwich as they did not skimp on the layers of pork roll. It speaks of the future, but not the past, which makes it unprovable at the time you read it, and difficult to measure thereafter, relying on memory to test its thesis. I do know that as much as I liked my Madison (sausage, scrambled, sautéed onion, cheddar and garlic aioli on baguette), it wasn't the best sandwich I have ever had, which suggests it won't meet that apex standard going forward. It remains to be seen. Lawrenceville Sandwich Company sits in the space once occupied by Maidenhead Bagels, and it is worthy of respect. It does not demean its predecessor's excellence, and is a serious replacement. My sandwich was well prepared, paper wrapped, and boxed in biodegradable packaging, and finger burning hot on approach. It was delicious, with each element contributing its share to the whole. Liked it a lot. The shop is popular and the wait for takeout about 20 minutes. With Lawrenceville School across the street, it has a captive audience, but there were plenty of post grads there as well. The place is run by high school kids and a few manager types, as efficiently as possible. I didn't let the time taken to hand over my breakfast as an issue. Sometimes, good things are worth the wait. Fantastic! That is the best way to describe our lunch for three. The menu offerings are unique and exciting. I don't find the prices to be high for what you get: delicious and freshly prepared sandwiches. I got the Park Avenue, which is a unique combination of egg, avocado, cheese and hash browns on an egg bagel. My wife and daughter got the mozzarella and tomato, and tuna salad sandwiches respectively, both of which were enough to save for the next day's lunch. Stop in and you won't be disappointed. One of the best sandwiches I've ever had in the area. Reasonably priced and the sandwiches were loaded with deliciousness. I almost wished they gave me a whole bagel instead of half of the bagel considering how much avocado they packed on top. The egg white turkey bacon sandwich is solid and flavorful. I ordered from LSC for the first time this past Wednesday. I got the H5 which says on the menu it is a chicken sandwich with bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and house aioli. I made no changes or substitutions. I received a chicken sandwich with bacon, cheese and a single piece of wilted lettuce. No tomato, no aioli. I called the shop but they had already closed for the day so I left a message along with my name and phone number. When I hadn't hear from anyone two days later, I called and asked if I could speak with the manager. The guy who answered said he was on the phone at the moment, so I left my name and number again. Again, no response. I always go out of my way to support small businesses but given the fact quality and customer service is of no importance to the manager and/or owner of this small business, their success is of no importance to me. read more
