I commend the owner for (ostensibly) hiring the neurodivergant. The gruffness and volume of the name-caller may be accordingly forgiven. The discovery of a few distorted and flattened (to the point where, for half of the bagel, it was too flat to slice) bagels among my take-home bag is not. To be clear, I come here for really simple stuff... bagel with butter or cream cheese and not for the hot food / sandwiches. For what I get, it is solid. Bagels are good. I dislike that their app doesn't have the ability to order just a simple bagel. Only the complex stuff. I genuinely love bagels, so I walked into The Bagel Nook expecting a simple bagel with cream cheese. What I got instead felt like I accidentally volunteered for a food experiment that should have stayed in the lab. The bagels themselves are fine, but the cream cheese and spreads are where things go completely off the rails. Birthday cake, Oreo, Flaming Hot Cheetos, ghost pepper, cookie dough, and other combinations that seem less about food and more about shock value. At no point does anyone appear to ask whether these flavors should exist, only whether they can be made louder and more extreme. After trying more than one spread, it became obvious that this is not just about strange flavors but about low quality ingredients piled on top of each other. Everything tastes overly processed, artificial, and heavy, like the goal is to overwhelm your taste buds so you do not notice what you are actually eating. It feels cheap, rushed, and careless. What is most concerning is how unhealthy this stuff is. These spreads are packed with sugar, artificial flavors, dyes, and who knows what else, all smeared generously onto a bagel and passed off as creative. This is not indulgence, it is just junk food pretending to be clever, and it cannot possibly be doing anyone any favors health wise. Meanwhile, people around me were happily ordering these combinations like this was totally normal. I honestly felt like I was in an alternate universe where cream cheese is no longer supposed to taste good or be real, just extreme. If you want a normal bagel with quality ingredients, this is not the place. I have been here twice. The shop itself is adorable, lots of natural lighting and plenty of seating. Parking is a pain but most people get their food to go anyway. This is a popular local spot. I will not be coming here again. I have never been charged so much by a restaurant that is sooo stingy with its toppings! 99¢ for tomatoes, 99¢ for lettuce, and $1.99 for capers!? On a bagel that starts at $16? Insane. To add insult to injury was the fact that I hardly got any lettuce, and capers only in the hole of my bagel. I wanted to give them another chance by ordering something that did come with toppings and they were STILL STINGY! HOW DO YOU MAKE A RUBEN WITH NO SAUERKRAUT??? Amazing stuff going on here, love the variety of the menu. Got a jalapeño cheddar bagel with sausage egg and cheese, really good. Kids got m&m donut and cinna toast crunch bagel, both were also good but too sweet for my breakfast. We also grabbed a bacon, egg, and potato platter, which was large and delicious. Plenty of seating in the place. A lot of to-go orders and varieties of coffees and beverages. When it's busy you know it's good and they were busy, but it went quick. Cannot wait to return. When you're standing there waiting to order, no one else in the line, and you make eye contact with three different folks behind the counter... and they all ignore you. OK, maybe they're busy in some way I can't see? I wait patiently. A couple of minutes later, a man gets in line behind me. The guy shuffling the bagels on display right in front of me stops and greets the person behind me like they're long lost brothers. I walked out. Been wanting to try bagel noon after seeing them all over social media and I was disappointed this morning. I ordered a pork roll, egg and cheese on a specialty "flat" egg everything bagel with a hash brown. I also requested the pork roll alittle more well done. She asked if I wanted the bagel toasted and I said sure! When I opened it, here are the differences: - Wrong bagel (just a normal everything) - untoasted - no hash brown - pork roll had no color and was kinda cold I spent $20.57 leaving a 15% tip and getting a Tropicana. But $17 for a bagel sandwich where the order is wrong isn't worth it. There are much better bagel stores where you get a way better product for less money. I don't recommend. read more

I'm disappointed by reassured that some other share what I experienced here. My fiancé & I wanted to give this place a try since the options seemed fun. Once our order was taken we were left waiting for 40 minutes. We were first in line right after a morning rush and were completely forgotten. To add salt to the wound once we were handed our bag and got to the car - we checked only to find that we were missing a bagel. Before going to Color Me Mine, we grabbed a quick breakfast at The Bagel Nook. We were greeted by an impressively creative assortment of bagel flavors and cream cheese. However, we ended up getting the onion bagel with egg, avocado, and scallion cream cheese. Our bagel had a healthy amount of everything and it was delicious! I was so excited to finally try out The Bagel Nook! I always see their unique bagel and cream cheese options all over the internet! This shop is super cool, I love the photos of different types of bagels they serve on the wall. Also, the mural where the bathrooms are is cool too! I was greeted by a nice young man who was patient with my sister and I as we read through everything they offer. He even let us taste as many cream cheeses as we liked! Since it was the last day of pride month, I opted for the tie dye bagel with strawberry cream cheese. The strawberry cream cheese was PERFECT with the chunks of fresh strawberries found in every bite. Been coming to this popular little breakfast spot for a few years now. They have another location which I haven't been to in Freehold. They're known for their wild variety of flavored cream cheeses and bagels. They also have a great selection of other breakfast/brunch foods. I also cannot forget to mention their many coffee flavors. This visit I got a chicken cesar wrap with a side of coleslaw. It was fresh, delicious, the lettuce was still crisp and the chicken was chunky. Needless to say I didn't eat nor did I bother to let them know for fear the kitchen staff would do something to the next one. I came here for the Santa bagels around Christmas. Although they were fairly expensive for one bagel at $5 each (and only sold in packs of 4), they were a huge hit. The actual bagel was good. They also have "crazy" cream cheese flavors. We tried the everything bagel cream cheese which was fantastic and the s'mores one which was good but too sweet for my taste. The reason I chose The Bagel Nook to grab breakfast after a short weekend trip to Princeton was because of all the lovely photos of bright, colorful bagels. The bagels in the pictures looked fluffy, full of toppings or meats/cheeses, and delicious. However, this was not the case. When we arrived, we were not given any guidance. The menu was on a screen, but it was extremely hard to read. I found a paper menu and decided on a meat, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich. I couldn't find the types of meats and cheese on the menu, so I had to ask the cashier who seemed very unsure. She did not tell me that the bagel I chose was a $2.34 up-charge. My sandwich was about $10 in the end. The sandwich took a while, and it definitely wasn't worth the wait. The sandwich was extremely greasy, the bagel was undercooked, and the sausage patty was pretty small. I ate about half and ending up throwing the rest away. I had tried their bagels before but had never actually been there and I'm so glad I made the trek. They have an overwhelming selection of spreads and combinations of sandwiches to try. Coffee is self serve and was fine. We dined in. I had the flaming hot Cheetos bagel with sausage egg and cheese which was fantastic. My Daughter had a taylor ham egg and cheese which was also delish. We also got bagels and spreads to take home. Love the ghost pepper cream cheese on the flaming hot Cheetos bagel. Also got the Captain Crunch which was not too sweet. Doritos bagel was yummy as well. Bagel nook is a casual place for great breakfast, coffee or lunch. I had the veggie omelette but with whole eggs and it comes with potatoes and bagel or toast. I got the sesame bagel with olive cream cheese. The omelette had perfectly cooked spinach, onions, mushrooms and tomatoes stuffed into soft eggs. I love when restaurants get their temperatures right and the omelette was served nice and hot. The potatoes had good flavor but think they forgot to heat them up. An image of the Sugar Cookie Overload Bagel made me want to try this place out! I ordered 3 bagels: Sugar Cookie Overload Bagel, Flaming Hot Cheetos Overload Bagel and Blueberry Crumb Overload Bagel. I thought the bagels, especially the Cookie and Blueberry one, would be wayy too sweet, but surprisingly they weren't! I think it's because the cream cheese wasn't like frosting (despite the sprinkles) which definitely helped! The Flaming Cheetos bagel had a lot of flavor and I really liked it (even though I usually don't eat spicy foods!) But I could only take a bite of each bagel - it was just too heavy and filling. This spot also has a great outdoor seating (I definitely prefer the outdoor seating in the back). And there is a creative and colorful wall in the back of the store - perfect for foodies like me to take their bagel pictures! I've been wanting to go to The Bagel Nook for years and finally got the opportunity to stop by the Princeton location recently. Upon walking in, I was already indecisive about what I wanted to order because I wanted to try everything!! The staff were also incredible and very welcoming. Whether you want a literal Cinnamon Bun as a bagel or a bagel with bacon and cheddar cheese on TOP with crush Doritos on the inside, The Bagel Nook can make any of those flavor combos happen for you and nothing is ever too weird. There are so many amazing options and the bagels are HUGE. I really wish I had a location near me because I would never run out of unique combinations! For this visit, I ordered the: -Cinnamon French Toast bagel with the Brown Sugar Butter -Bacon Cheddar bagel with cream cheese I kept it pretty simple because I was taking the order to-go but I definitely hope to go back soon to try out one of their breakfast sandwiches! My boyfriend put his bagel in the air fryer for a bit once we got back home and he saiid it was amazing and that he wants to stop by next time.
