We come to McAllen to visit family and this is the spot we always have to stop when we are here. The tamales are smaller than your "normal" tamales, but they're packed with just as much flavor and deliciousness. If you've never tried these you have to! You have to try the cheese and jalapeño one and the spicy pork tamales there. The spicy green salsa is my favorite to add to the tamales for a little extra kick it's great to eat there as it's always well kept and clean and the staff is very nice.

Normally Delia's is awesome for tamales. We went in today to get our Christmas order and what we got home with was bag after bag saturated in reddish grease dripping our everything and the carpet of the trunk of my daughter's car! The service this time was awful as well. The tamales are greasy and thin

Had the menudo for the first time. It was actually really good. Not too greasy and flavorful. Of course i had to get some tamales to go. Come Check them out if youre new or travelling thru McAllen, you wont be disappointed.

You can't visit the valley without stopping at delias! The tamales are AMAZING. They are made fresh daily and melt In your mouth! There are a wide variety of flavors. So everyone in the family can find something they will like! I suggest ordering multiple and sharing with others to try as many as possible. My person favorite were the spicy chicken and cheese, the chicken is shredded and melts in your mouth. Second I liked the cream cheese, bean and jalapeño. The salsas are spicy but have a delicious flavor. Make sure you stop here and take some home to family and friends they will never stop thanking you!

Small shop with endless choices of tamales that cater to vegetarians and non vegetarians? Sign me up! This place is wholesomeness. Piping hot tamales by the dozen with very spicy salsa types. This was deliciousness. I got the spicy chicken and the cream cheese jalapeño one. I will definitely be back to get more dozens of tamales.

How can you not give 5 stars to a place that everyone in town says is a MUST! I've never been a huge tamale fan but I'd never had tamales from Delia's. Not only are they good but they are amazing! I had the cream cheese and jalapeño. I had six and was stuffed. I could not have done justice to 12 and I would have been miserable. What a treat! I know I'll be back while I'm in town.

On average, how many tamales in one serving? I know you have to order by the 1/2 dozen, but do most people eat a half dozen? More? Less? 3-4?..... If I was ordering for a group, should I order a dozen for every 2 people? Every 3 people?....

I don't know an average because it's wildly different depending on the person, but I usually get pretty full after just 4. Some people eat a half dozen or more but that's usually just because they are fantastic tamales! I would think a dozen per…

I'm a huge migas fan and never thought to try chilaquiles. This place did not disappoint. I added eggs, chorizo and avocado with half green and half red sauce. I was surprised to get each adding in an individual stack. I managed to get my egg yolk over the avocado and chorizo. The food was really good, just not what I expected. The flautas de papa were a great buy. Instead of using a corn or flour tortilla to mop up my plate, I was able to use the flauta and with the papa in it, they were like little sponges soaking up all the leftovers

We finally ordered--only to receive chicken fajitas instead of beef. Sent them back, waited again. Strike two. When the corrected order arrived? The fajitas were completely bland. No seasoning. The sweetbread--crispy on the outside, yes--but equally flavorless. And then we realized they'd forgotten the beans entirely. Those charro beans? The most tasteless I've ever had in my life. Strike three. The ambiance was nice (though overpriced for a mall spot), but the food was a shadow of what I experienced here a year ago. Waiter came and took our orders for drinks and we all started making our selections for food. The chips and salsa they bring out complementary are so good. We did have to wait because they were making a fresh batch but it was worth the wait. We all had a round of drinks and then put in our order for food and it was about 7pm already. Our waiter then came up to the table and asked us if we would mind moving because they had a reservation at 8pm for the area that they chose to sit us in. We were kind of annoyed by that because we had called the day before to make our reservations. We said I guess thinking it was going to be close to 8 that they would move us. Nope about 5-10 mins passed and he came by and asked us if we would mind moving already before our food came out. Considering that again we had a reservation and they knew it was a large party they should have blocked out more than just 2 hrs for us to be there. We moved and the very least they could have done for us is offer a free dessert on the house for the table but they didn't. Now I ordered the flautas which were served on a bead of beans. The menu said shredded chicken but we were told they didn't have chicken they only had beef so I ordered it. The flautes were lacking flavor and probably could have been saved by adding salt to them and the beans but they don't have that at any of the table. I did try some of my friends chicharrones and those were really good. We left around 8:15-8:20 and there was no one that showed up where we were originally sitting... so we could have just stayed where they originally sat us. We left feeling very annoyed.
