I hate to write bad reviews. Small businesses already have it so hard. We stopped in for 3 BEC and coffee. It was after lunch so when the owner (wife?) seemed annoyed I changed my order to something else as I didn't want her to mess up her grill. 3 chicken cutlet paninis. Warm pita cut in half. Microwaved cutlets so thick it was still raw in the middle. The ranch dressing was also microwaved and blistering hot as it dripped all over us as this wasn't a panini despite the name. The meat had a strange crunch from the undercooked poultry. $44 dollars. 3 sandwiches. Plus she added a fee for CC without saying anything. I threw it all away as we were already late on our trip. If the owner is reading this.... Do better. Or stick to Korean Food, it looked good but also not available. But this was not acceptable nor an indication of what a Long Island deli should be. This has been a solid deli for a while now, but their new management has taken it up a notch. It's clean, there are great food/smoothie selections, and the staff is absurdly kind and friendly. (You may even get a sturdy high-five for the creativity of your order.) My go-to is "H3" -- with the alternative Russian dressing, sautéed mushrooms, and a fried egg. It's incredible. Try it. Where did they get this guy?! Mr. Chop Chop (he always says that), is one of those larger than life guys who is often seen interviewed on television. His store is exceptionally clean, and this man is UBER-FRIENDLY. He actually salutes you when you come in, and shouts out, "GOOD MORNING SIR!" He's the most friendly Asian man you'll ever meet. His food is good. For example, his kaiser rolls are those with corn meal on the bottom and poppy seeds on top--not that generic crap you usually find in NYC and Long Island. He has a wall of photos, demonstrating how so many people like him. This is a take out deli, nothing fancy, but very nice. There is a TV with the news, and 8 seats to eat. He runs it 0600-1500. Great food here. It's a clean place and the new ownership is really nice and responsive. It's super fast too. We usually call up and order a few minutes in advance, and the sandwiches are always ready by the time we get there. I also like the non-sandwich selection they have. Excellent for breakfast! They do omelettes, sandwiches, salads, etc. This morning I had a pastrami egg and muenster cheese sandwich and it was awesome!! The only other person who could make a sandwich that awesome is me. Definitely found my new breakfast spot so I don't have to keep going to bum ass dunkin donuts anymore.
