    Reuben with pastrami

What a fantastic diner! Huge parking lot is a big plus. The diner also has a nice bar and dessert set up. The diner exceeded my expectations in every way. We had a fried combo appetizer plate that was very good! It came with fries, chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, chicken wings and jalapeño cheese poppers. The soups were really good as well, as the Manhattan clam chowder was savory and delicious. I had the pastrami reuben sandwich which was not too fatty but a flavorful masterpiece, with tender, perfectly seasoned pastrami stacked high between slices of fresh rye bread and sauerkraut. The chicken parmesan was equally impressive, featuring a crispy, golden-brown coating and a savory tomato sauce that had just the right balance of herbs and spices. The portions were generous, and the service was top-notch. I'll definitely be returning for more of their delicious dishes in the near future

Asian Salad with Romaine lettuce, fresh oranges & apples, sliced & blanched almonds, grilled shrimp & ginger dressing. Good for two.

Very reasonably priced, nice, clean Greek diner, decent food, sometimes one dish is enough for two, ample parking, and it's about a block north of Northern Blvd. on Glen Cove Road. We split the Asian salad (see photo) and breadsticks with butter, and we each had iced decaf coffee for a late lunch after hiking on trails and roads at Planting Fields Arboretum.

    Great private room.

I am definitely a fan of this diner. We come here for our Kiwanis Dinner meetings and take advantage of their private room. It is a very easy in and out off of Glen Cove Rd. There is also a very large parking lot. This diner is big and bright and there always seems to be a lot of electricity in the air. We were a group of 25 and dined in their private room. The staff here is so attentive to the needs of the customers. As a group we had a pre-determined menu and staff took our order prior to starting our meeting. As the night progressed, they were bringing food and kept us moving along. Choices of Pork Chops, Salmon and chicken were served to everyone and were hot & Steamy. They sides were plentiful and ample. We started with a cold-crisp salad of course with a choice of about five different dressings. The food here is nothing short of terrific!!! The portions are HUGE and many people took home food. They even ended the evening with an assortment of desserts. Again, everything fresh, tasty and terrific. Not enough kudos to the owners and staff id Greenvale Townhouse Restaurant. We're all looking forward to our next visit to you.

    Egg whites veggie omelette

Stopped here with a large (25-30) group for a lunch in a Saturday afternoon. I was anticipating having enough room but the large dining area easily accommodate us even though the restaurant was still in a busy lunch mode. Additionally I had thought I might be stuck ordering a salad given my gluten allergy and plant-based preference. But there were plenty of choices among the dozens of offerings from breakfast through dinner. I chose the egg white omelette with veggies, which came with a side (I subbed mashed potatoes) for fries and was able to get GF toast. Everything was delicious and the portions were huge! The veggies were zucchini, onions, tomatoes and broccoli. The omelette was amazing and while I don't eat egg whites often it satisfied my appetite. The server was very professional with everyone on the group. And I was surprised how quickly the order came based on how large our group was. Highly recommend!

I love a good breakfast at a diner. That's exactly what you'll get at Greenvale. Food and coffee were tasty. Service was quick we were seated right away and given water. Didn't have to ask for a lidded cup for my toddler they gave it automatically. They came around frequently for coffee refills (BIG PLUS). Waitress gave my daughter a big sprinkled cookie on the house. Would recommend and return if in the area again.

I came here with a group of friends for breakfast the day after a night of heavy drinking. The food was great and the service was fantastic. Be aware that they can't start selling alcohol until after 11 am on Sundays (lol). I got the chocolate chip pancakes, and they were typical diner pancakes. My friends got a reuben, French toast, and a burger. They all said theirs were good too. I think this is a great local diner to stop at for typical diner fare.

The restaurant, Gatsby's Landing, draws its name from the romantic nostalgia of The Great Gatsby. Situated near the Long Island Sound and Roslyn Pond, the setting offered a beautiful waterfront ambiance. My wife opted for the Baby Roasted Beets Salad, Salmon, and Crème Brûlée, while I chose the Lobster Bisque, Squid Ink Tonnarelli, and Tiramisu. The menu highlights their commitment to fresh, organic, and locally sourced ingredients - a promise they certainly delivered on. The dishes were both delicious and generously portioned. It was clear the kitchen doesn't skimp on quality; for instance, the lobster bisque was loaded with tender lobster meat, the squid ink tonnarelli featured an abundance of blue crab, and the salmon was a substantial, thick-cut fillet. The chef clearly possesses a mastery of technique, knowing exactly how to pair garnishes and balance flavors in perfect harmony. Furthermore, the waitstaff was both diligent and courteous. We can see why this establishment is so popular--the combination of exceptional cuisine, attentive service, and the serene lake views is hard to beat. However, there is one area for improvement: the restaurant should consider replacing their current chipped plates with larger, more elegant dinnerware. High-quality presentation would better reflect the dignity and caliber of the food they serve.

Well, I'm not sure how much the city of Roslyn has to offer though, so maybe it's the place to be as it got pretty packed as the evenings went on. I went once for dinner and had a pretty good shrimp cocktail with large shrimp and bland cocktail sauce, even with the extra horseradish. My seared tuna was overcooked, but had a nice flavor. Seared usually means some type of crusty charred goodness, but this didn't have it. The chai creme brûlée was good, but the sugar wasn't torched properly and didn't have that snap, crackle or pop which is what it's supposed to have. On a second night I went for cocktails which were $20 a pop! Yes, it was a bit pricey, but they were well made... with the exception of not having a luxardo cherry in "The Brooklyn". The staff was friendly and remembered me from the night before. They have a pretty good menu, and also a separate Indian menu and seemed to be a place for some local celebrations going on. Good (not great), pricey and very close to my hotel room!

We were there for a wedding and had gotten to the hotel around 8am to the brides room. The rest of the bridal party went downstairs to check in, because the link sent to our email to check in early was not working for us (it worked for others just not us for some reason). Check in was at 3 but as we had all gotten emails to check in early and couldn't, we went downstairs to check in. We understood that our room would not be ready until 3 but just wanted to pre check in as I've done MANY times before at other hotels. When we went down to the front desk to request this, the young woman working the desk was EXTREMELY rude WITH an attitude telling us that we aren't able to check in because they didn't have rooms yet. I explained that we dont need a room yet but that we got emails to check in early and it didn't work for us and we weren't going to be back until 1am. She responded again rudely telling us we can't check in with an annoyed facial expression. On top of that, we had mini gift bags that all the guests were to receive when they got to the hotel as the hotel had room blocks for the wedding. They were given to the front desk with the request to put them in the rooms for those there for the wedding. We were told this was no problem, as guests were arriving they had the bags behind the desk and started handing out multiples to each person even though the instructions were one per room and to be in the rooms. One of the guests went up to the front desk explaining to the women that they were supposed to be in the rooms already and one per room (again as we were told they can do this earlier in the day). She rudely, with an attitude, told her that "they don't do that" and they'll hand them out when guests are checking in "if they remember". Overall, the main issue was the lack of professionalism from the front desk women who were extremely nasty and miserable.

The atmosphere strikes a great balance between upscale and comfortable, making it ideal for date nights, celebrations, or simply a great dinner out. It's not often that a restaurant excels across appetizers, entrées, drinks, and dessert, but Hendrick's Tavern manages to do exactly that.
