Harbor Deli makes my absolute favorite sandwich -- a pastrami on wheat hero with bacon, pickles, chipotle mayo, lettuce, tomato, and American cheese. It's the kind of sandwich I dream about and usually rate a solid 10/10 without hesitation. Unfortunately, this visit was a little disappointing. I didn't get any chipotle mayo, which is a big part of what makes this sandwich so amazing for me. I know mistakes happen and I've always had great experiences here, but it's been months since I last had one, so I was really looking forward to it being perfect. Without the chipotle mayo, it just wasn't the same -- more like a 6/10 instead of the usual 10/10. Still tasty, but missing that signature flavor I love. I love the food at this Deli. There is always TCL put into everything. Including the packaging and attention to off the menu requests. If you are a foodie, you should know the owner/chef has a great imagination, there is something for everyone, and always something new. What inspired me to right this review, is their home fries. Been doing a lot of low carb, but figured a would treat myself with some home fries and over easy eggs. So many places could not make home fries crispy or don't know how. I could not have asked for better cripsy home fries than I just ate. Each piece was completely caramelized and crispy to contrast the creaming potato inside. I made a quick stop to Harbor Deli for dessert and as a way to provide my audience with reviews on the different array local businesses located in Port Washington. This is a nice little place, service was friendly. I was greeted quickly and the two workers there were pleasant and accommodating. They offered me samples of any of the flavors although I pretty much had my mind made up of a combination of chocolate gelato and mango ice. Due to COVID-19 safety they were not serving sundaes in the waffle cup so I had to settle for a scoop of each in a cup. Maybe the owners can put a sign up letting customers know the waffle cup is not available currently so customers don't get their hopes up. They had a hand sanitizer dispenser at the front door, everyone was masked up and they had proper signage on the They offer sandwiches, desserts, snacks, and groceries among the usual goods you'd find at your local deli. Their menu is expansive and they're very creative with their offerings and the portions are pretty generous. You can get soups salads and sandwiches as expected but they also offer açaí bowls, fresh juices, and I'm convinced they can probably throw together anything you ask for. Their waffle fries, even after being delivered and sitting for 15 mins were still crispy! Also I had an issue with an order and the owner personally reached out via email and asked that I contact him next time I place an order so that he can ensure I don't have an issue. I can honestly say Harbor Deli is definitely a top tier deli here on Long Island. I have been coming here for years now and I will continue coming here for many more. From when you walk in the door, you will realize it is not just your ordinary deli. Harbor prides its self on giving its customers a different experience than your ordinary deli. You can be assured that even though they have a wide variety of food that the quality on everything is top notch. The service is absolutely fantastic. Even if I had the slightest problem, it was fixed immediately. You can your order to go or eat there. Harbors products are very organized, so it is easy to see / find all of the options. The quality of each sandwich I have ever had here is always amazing. My top 3 sandwiches I recommend are Sassquatch, Main Street and any of the chop cheese options. I order food from Harbor Deli all the time and it is always delicious. I recently reached out to the owner inquiring about catering a healthy breakfast for our employees at work. Harry and his team planned an amazing breakfast bar of avocado toast made to order and turkey egg white wraps. He even agreed to travel to 3 of our locations, one of which was deep in downtown Brooklyn. The breakfast event was a huge success, not only was the food incredible but the presentation was professional and he agreed on a reasonable price that was within our budget. Really thought these guys might have turned a new leaf, but boy was I wrong. You should probably consider making fresh sandwiches for your customers instead of pulling them out of the display and tossing them in a toaster - i can confidently expect a more fresh, enjoyable, sandwich from the likes of subway or quiznos. The sandwich I ordered is called a crosscheck, and is modeled after a staple at a far superior deli that used to operate nearby and is no longer with us (r.i.p. we miss you). I'm not going to get too much into detail about the quality as the pictures below will speak for themselves, but i'll put it this way; in the very off chance that this sandwich had not been sitting pre-prepared in their display all week, the ingredients used were CERTAINLY past their prime to say the least. Most unsatisfying breakfast ever! Went to Harbor Deli's new location in Soundview Plaza for a simple quick breakfast. I asked for 2 eggs scrambled with feta cheese. She asked if I wanted anything else. I asked for an egg everything bagel w butter. Not toasted. Sounds simple. For $3.50 I am presented a sandwich with a dried over-cooked omelette on a bagel. I am not a fan of dried eggs browned in a single tasteless disc. I said, ok it's not what I had in mind, but no sense in throwing it out. They said, no you should have what you wanted, we'll do it over. Now the dried out eggs are in a styrofoam container, and the bagel is wrapped in paper. New price $6.49. Still not what I wanted. Just when you try to give an establishment a second/third chance to get an order correct, they screw up again. My job orders from this place all the time. This time around, we placed an order for delivery for an omelet with wheat toast & a hash brown. I got the butter but NO TOAST. My co-worker ordered an egg sandwich with cheese & pastrami. NO PASTRAMI. C'mon guys, what's going on here? Can your cooks understand to read an order? Is your delivery driver eating the food? Who is going to be held accountable for these screwups? People try to support local businesses as much as possible these days but that doesn't mean you can't keep customers happy with simple orders. I wasn't necessarily sure I wanted to throw a review out into the Yelp world for Harbor Deli, but after eating grub from here multiple times, I felt it only fair. Despite having consumed countless amounts of a variety of egg sandwiches and most recently a lunch wrap (details to follow), I've never actually set foot in HD. It's all been delivery as my place of work takes in from there for special breakfasts and a few weeks ago for lunch. One day it dawned on me. I should review this place! And here we are. I'll vouch for a handful of their eggy creations. The classic bacon, egg, and cheese is a great combo with the cheese really melting into the eggs. It hits the spot nicely. Though I can't overlook their egg whites option. I know flavor starts to flee when whiting it up, but this sandwich (accompanied by a little provided hot sauce) is actually very creamy and pretty delicious. On to lunch. We ordered in a few weeks ago and skimmed through the humongous selection of sandwich concoctions (over 60 creations!). I was looking for something with a little spice and landed on the Americana. Grilled blackened chicken, mozzarella, lettuce, tomato, and mayo in a wrap. The chicken was very tender, unlike some other nearby delis, and full of that charred, semi-spicy flavor I was looking for. The rest of the ingredients balanced things out quite nicely. Overall, Harbor Deli puts some extra oomph in their food, and the proof is in the pudding....or, well the sandwiches. An in person trip is needed to give it that final star, but for now, wear the four proudly and know that last one might not be too far behind. read more

Reduced to 3 stars after the wait to get your order made has become bananas lately. Great food, but u must be willing to sacrifice a good part of your day and sanity to get it lol. ------ Affectionately known as "Harbor D" or "the D", any PW resident will tell you that this is THE place to go to pick up a salad or sandwich for lunch or to get catered casual food for a party. There are a few reasons for this: 1. All You Can Eat Salad ingredients - we all know that any NYC salad institution lets you pick 4 or so ingredients and then would charge you for anything extra, so you get only a few ingredients for your $14 salad. Not so at the D. Pick any or all of the 30+ ingredients (except the shrimp!) and there is no extra charge. That's why my custom salad is my fav thing to get at the D. 2. Great sandwiches with funky names - The board above the deli counter is full of awesome sandwich creations. I used to favor the General Alarm before I switched to the salad. Everyone has their favorite. 3. The Loyalty card - Buy enough sandwiches or salads and you get 1 free. If you eat there a lot - like PW folks are known to do - this comes in handy. If you forget you card, you feel worthless. 4. Catered party deals - Harbor D is my go-to when I need a 6-foot sub, chicken wings or other gobs of food for parties. Why not 5 stars? So disappointed. Just ended up walking out of the place after waiting for 30 minutes. Ordered 3 sandwiches for my 2 yr old and wife. They couldn't fulfill my order because they were swamped. People were walking in after me ordering and leaving before me. They just delivered the sandwiches to my house after that whole ordeal on the house. I called because when I cancelled the order there they didn't give me a full refund and for some reason shorted me a dollar Babies asleep though and I went to amalfi pizza already n grabbed some pizza for the fam. I ordered a Runts (already premade on display and all it takes is to toast and microwave). I understood it was peak time but I WAITED FOR 30 MINUTES! Not only was I frustrated but also for the people who called in for pickups where I heard disgruntled customers were delayed by 15+ minutes! While waiting, we scanned their salads and sandwiches. First of all they had over 60 named sandwiches ready to go. They get more bonus points for the salads they had on display, all of which looked freshly made that morning. Their shrimp salad, in particular, was made with whole large shrimp. It looked amazing. Breakfast was good, but this place gets extra points for their cleanliness, quality, and all-around friendliness of the staff.
