Magali is fantastic. Affordable, affectionate with her pack, and reliable. Couldn't ask for a better dog walker.

The Grateful Dog - Sooo relaxed!

Our experience with Grateful Dog on Thursday, November 6th was deeply troubling and ultimately…read moreunacceptable. This was our dog Indio's first visit. When we picked him up around 5 p.m., he had a severe laceration on his lower eyelid and was visibly shaken. A young staff member admitted he was in another room at the time and that no one was supervising the dogs when the injury occurred--despite Grateful Dog's website explicitly promising "supervised play, indoor and outdoor." It was clear this employee was not trained to handle incidents of any kind. He also told us he had been instructed over the phone by his boss, Ernie, to clean the wound and apply ointment without notifying us. Ernie made a judgment call based on a dark photo instead of contacting us. As a result, our dog was left with an open, untreated wound for the rest of the day with no communication whatsoever. We took Indio straight to the emergency hospital, where he required full sedation and several hours of treatment. He remained there for nearly six hours. Both the ER team and our primary vet agreed that the lack of supervision, failure to notify us, and the attempt to treat a significant injury without consent were irresponsible. Indio is now on multiple medications, wearing a cone for weeks, and his emergency care totaled $1,295.26. When we later spoke with Ernie, his attitude was shockingly dismissive. His exact words were: "I've been doing this for 30 years -- didn't seem like a big deal." No responsible professional minimizes an injury requiring emergency sedation as "not a big deal." We then emailed a detailed summary with photos and documentation. After that, Grateful Dog completely ghosted us. No response, no acknowledgment, no concern. Accidents happen. But zero supervision, untrained staff, unauthorized medical treatment, a manager who downplays the injury, and complete silence afterward are not accidents -- they are serious failures in judgment and care. If you're considering this facility, ask very direct questions about who is actually supervising your dog and what their real protocols are. Our experience suggests there is a significant gap between what's advertised and what actually happens.

Ceslie has been a game changer in my dogs' training journey. I highly recommend her to anyone who…read moreis considering a trainer. I have two high energy pit mixes whose leash reactivity had gotten worse in the past half year, and it had reached a point where it was unmanageable because they would start barking and lunging at other dogs even from a healthy distance. I met with a few trainers to get a sense of their methods and styles, and Ceslie felt like the best match because of how she took the extra time to know my dogs and understand their behavior before recommending a plan, compared to others who jumped into training without asking many questions. There was a noticeable difference in how my dogs responded to Ceslie after their first class. She was thoughtful in customizing a plan that fit their needs, from teaching proper corrections to reinforcing obedience to providing the right equipment. She also taught me how to be a better handler (something often overlooked in training!), and it's truly strengthened my relationship with my pups. We had weekly sessions over the course of a month and there has been significant improvement in my dogs' behavior. Walks are stress-free and enjoyable again because we're able to bypass other dogs without issues, their door etiquette has improved, and we're now slowly working on their separation anxiety (slow and steady process but we're making progress!). Ceslie has been incredibly supportive and responsive through it all and I'm very grateful for her guidance with what I thought was a hopeless situation. I'm now considering sending the pups to her daycare program!

"You don't train the dog; you train the handler."…read more This couldn't be more relevant having worked with Ceslie. To be clear, while I saw training results with my pup by day 2, I didn't realize how imperative it is for YOU to learn patience and consistently implement the training. Point being, you are a student, and Ceslie is an incredible teacher. Her experience and knowledge are obvious, but what's special is how quickly she identifies the issues and gets you on track, like day 1, it was uplifting. Ceslie gets it. She'll adapt to your style and help you get to that obedience baseline you want to see in your dog. She balances compassion with firm direction-- Ceslie's a pro. For context, my guy was 7 months old at the time, rescue, half German shepherd mix w/ HIGH ENERGY... oh, and 75lbs. While he's never shown aggression, he's a liability because he LOVES everyone-- favored meeting strangers over recall, jumps on people, would be a brat, throwing tantrums when given commands. I always wanted a dog, but I was overwhelmed. Within a month (mornings, 4 days a week), I hit baseline with my dog--- he recalls, he doesn't jump, most importantly, taught him to fetch so I could properly get energy out of him... such an immense amount of weight lifted. Proof of progress with pics (she sent me photos of training each day) TLDR; Ceslie rocks. Stop looking.

My dog is extremely intuitive to "dog people" and willfully allowed Amy feel through his fur to gauge her efforts- and he didn't look at me like he was terrified like he has with other groomers who barely give him a glance at drop off. In fact, he seemed to LOVE her. ‼ Two hours?!! She was right on time -to the minute. Leo came out looking and feeling like a prince! I truly believe Amy is a master of her craft. I have taken Leo to several groomers in the area, even resorting to trying to groom him (pitifully) myself after these experiences left him with choppy cuts, and a bit of trauma. From the moment I reached out, I felt like my husky lab Kuma would be in the best hands. Chantel is incredibly responsive, kind, and passionate about dogs. Chantel and her team have looked after Kuma a few times now, and I'll definitely keep coming back. During my recent trip, I received daily updates and adorable photos that reassured me he was happy and well-cared for. City Girls Dog Care followed my care instructions perfectly. They gave him plenty of love and even went the extra mile by taking him on hikes. What really stood out was how excited Kuma gets whenever he sees Chantel. He is prompt, reliable, trustworthy and will update me when I'm out of town which is always comforting. I don't know what we would do without him. I love how David pays attention to detail. He wanted to make sure that she knew my little guy: from his foods and his routine down to the way he likes to play. I never worried a minute while I was out of town because he had everything under control. It was such a comfort knowing that my little guy didn't have to go stay somewhere else, but could stay in his own routine at home. I would HIGHLY recommend David and his pet sitting services to ALL my friends with furry people. Don't even worry about stressing or planning for a trip to the kennel, just let David come over and take care of your little family at home. AND, he will update you as often as you'd like regarding your pet. He always sends the cutest photos and videos which adds even more reassurance. Recently I had to move to a new apartment and my cat freaked out really bad! David came over and helped me find him after he ran off and get him calm and ready for the move.
