    Banana cream pie
    F. S.

Was walking around Farmer's market in grand Ave in Oakland and saw the table full of goodies decided to get the banana cream pie and I made the right choice it was flaky and good . I'll probably go back and try the coconut cream pie .

Delightful Foods has perfected pie making! We visited their pop up at the Ferry Building Farmers Market on Saturday and were wowed by their cherry pie. The crust was simultaneously tender and flaky, rich and airy and strong enough to hold the cherry filling without crumbling. I also appreciated that it was not overly sweet and the perfect size to share with my husband. Service was friendly and they also offered samples. Delightful Foods truly lives up to its name!

We were wandering around the farmer's market at the Ferry building and ran into Delightful Foods. They offered free samples, so we tried their sweet potato pie and were hooked. Each pie is about 5 inches in diameter and is individually wrapped, which is a huge plus. We brought one home for dessert and it was YUM. The filling was smooth and sweet, but not overly sweet. The crust was flaky, but not crumbly. The perfect pie.

This is a family owned family run family recipes pie business that has been serving the bay area community for decades. They have 19flavors of pies that you can honestly enjoy hot or cold, because they are just that good. Every time I visit here I have a hard time deciding now which flavor to get. Do I go with what I know for sure I enjoy or do I try a new flavor of pie? That's just how exciting all of this is. The crew is extremely nice and sociable and will offer you samples if not their own personal favorite flavors. You can really taste the home baked goodness in each of their pies. Some of my standouts are the peach, Mango and cream cheese, and the key lime. You sometimes feel like pies are a holiday type treat, but delightful foods makes you feel lucky that they are at Farmers Markets all year long. You can find them in San Francisco, Oakland, Richmond, and now Vallejo. I'm sure there are many more places they are bringing their baked goodness perfection too, so ask when you see them or visit their website!

I caught them at the Stonestown Farmers Market yesterday on Sunday. I nearly missed their tent as it was staged off to the side. As I was waiting for hubby, I took a last look around the market. Glancing over I noticed the canvas tent and it said pies & cookies. That was enough to draw me over. Yesterday there were 19 different pies to choose from. We went with three mini pies - key lime, banana cream, and apple. My key lime pie was delish. Sweet, creamy, and tart. The pie crust was crusty. Hubby enjoyed the apple mini pie and daughter liked the banana cream pie. I'm going to look for their tent next Sunday. Hopefully it'll be located in a better location.

Delightful Foods is one of the absolute best bakeries in Oakland. I first fell in love with their bean pies and sweet potato pies two years ago. I use to wake up early on Sundays to get a few at my local farmers market before they would run out. I didn't think anything could top what I've already experienced, but recently I tried their coconut cream pie and feel in love all over again. I loved it so much that I decided to make a special trip to their bakery located in Oakland. The first thing I noticed after the wonderful smell of their butter crust was how clean the inside was. It's not a traditional looking bakery, but they get the job done in there and deliver quality deserts. Also, the customer service is amazing. I reached out to them via text and they responded immediately. I put in an order and was able to request it ready for pick up the next day. They also make ginger and hibiscus drinks. They aren't strong with regards to the flavor of ginger, but they are sweet and refreshing. I will forever be a customer to this establishment and would highly recommend others to experience their amazing deserts. They truly are delightful!

dense pies, got some weight to them!

Happened upon them at Grand Lake Farmer's Market this morning. The free samples of sweet potato pie reeled me in - super buttery crust (you have to like butter to like these pies) and adorable latticed palm-sized pies. Got an apple for my husband and strawberry rhubarb (my weakness) for myself, $9 each, and although the packaging said 4 and 5oz respectively, I think they were more than that! A dense, not too sweet, but rich pie that tastes like a hug!

Golden Crust Sweet Potato Pie~ This pie is spiced to perfection and taste very fresh, it's unique in that it's made with yams!

My boyfriend and I discovered their booth at the Sunday Marin Civic Center Farmers Market in San Rafael a few days ago. After gazing at their variety pies we knew we had to purchase one! The Golden Crust Sweet Potato Pie I purchased was spiced to perfection and taste very fresh, it's unique in that it's made with yams and simple ingredients! Having southern roots, this pie was right up my alley, not to mention my boyfriend loved it! I would recommend visiting this booth and we will definitely be back to try more of their goodies! Support this small local family owned bakery @delightfulfoodsbakery on Instagram, especially now when they need our business the most!

Went to the Vallejo Farmer's Market today and purchased 3 bottles of their ginger juice. Rafia's African Ginger Juice $6. My stomach has been feeling nauseous, BUT THE JUICE HEALED MY TUMMY. Perfect amount of cane sugar. Thank you for your great drinks.

Delightful Foods sells cookies, fruit juices, pies. they source their fruit from grand lake farmers market. (pies taste fresh!). they have a storefront and at farmers markets locale: grand lake farmers market (9/12/20) eats: blueberry cheese pie(6) 4.5 oz -"cream cheese, organic sugar, blueberries, butter, milk, eggs, flour, honey, vanilla". -nice crust, fresh fruit taste, not too sugary, nice balance of flavors, no ingredient overpowered any other flavor. cherry pie (5) : cherries, organic sugar, butter, flour, honey, spices, butter -cherry tasted a little tart, pie a bit sweeter than usual. 4.5 stars. pies tastes different than the usual...

A very welcome newcomer to the Ferry Building Farmers Market on Saturdays. Love that all their flavors come in individual pie form, so you can try a bunch. Pretty strong no matter which kind you pick though! 3 Berry Cheese Pie: It's like this pie was made specifically for me! I thought it'd be just another cheesecake variant with some berries baked in. Turns out the entire bottom was full of delicious gooey filing. And just the top was a cheesecake (but lighter) filling. It was perfect for me. Cherry Pie: So the crust was buttery and delicious; normally I'm not one to notice crust. The filling was just ok though. The cherries were tasty and soaked up some spices. But there wasn't a lot of viscous filling between the individual cherries. Something I usually look forward to in cherry pie and sorely missed here. I did notice that that bottom of the tin had a lot of baked on stickiness. So it may have been the case that it somehow leaked out during baking... Sweet Potato Pie: Exactly what I was hoping for! A sweet, smooth filling with lots of nice spices. Kinda like eating a sweet potato casserole on Thanksgiving, but in pie form. Which is great because the buttery crust paired so nicely. Apple Pie: Similar in format to the cherry pie, but apple obviously. Same great buttery crust. The filling wasn't very gooey though. But the apple slices were tender and full of flavor, so quite tasty. But I dunno, I kinda like my fruit filling to be oozing... Bean Pie: Reminded me of the sweet potato pie by the flavoring, but it was uniquely enjoyable itself. Most of the filling was a bit gelatinous, but in a creamy bean tip of way. And I really enjoyed the top layer of brown sugar crust. A lot better than I had expected. Mango Cheese Pie: A great combo of fruit filling and cheesecake-like filling. Wasn't quite as much fruit at the bottom as with the triple berry cheese pie, but the swirl of fruit was bigger, so it kind of averaged out. Really liked the sweet tang of mango against the rich cheese.

Always love visiting this little stand at the Lake Merritt farmers market. Seriously they're delightful, just like their mini pies. I've tried to hold myself back from buying the full sized, they're so good! I literally bought 3 mini pies, a bean, sweet potato and pecan, thinking it was better than a full pie haha. They also sell drinks and cheesecakes but I'm always a pie purchaser. Definitely will be back... maybe even again today if these 3 mini ones don't last for long.

I was there on a warm Sunday, just to try their acai bowls. There's four acai bowls on the menu board, so I asked the gentleman behind the counter....."which is the best acai bowl?" With confidence, he said...."the Oasis Bowl." He likes the Oasis Bowl because it features seasonal fruit. That means the recipe and taste experience can change with the seasons. When I was there, the seasonal fruit was pineapple. This place makes a good acai bowl. For $13.00, it's not overflowing with fruit toppings. Instead, it's packed with fresh fruit, crispy granola, chia seeds, honey and coconut flakes on top of a acai base. It's definitely a meal, not a fruit bowl snack. The interior is very clean. It has a small outdoor patio. According to signage, there's no indoor seating. Main Squeeze is located near the Park Street Downtown. It's walking distance from the Alameda Theatre, public parking lot, and Alameda High School.

It was not heavy or overly creamy. Perfect balance of flavors and I must reiterate how perfect the texture was- so smooth, no chunks or iciness. Reminded me more of a nice blended tropical drink than a traditional smoothie (which is great because I'm not a huge fan of normal smoothies). I got the smaller size but wished I had gotten the larger because it was so good. The interior is basic but plenty of space and some seating/tables while you wait for your drink. (This location was formerly Clove and Hoof and they haven't redecorated much, but that's fine by me as it means they were able to open and start selling smoothies very quickly after taking over the spot!) The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is the hours- please open earlier than 10am! This location is right near several bus stops and on the way to BART- I would love to be able to stop by on my way to work and I bet a lot of other people would too! For real though, I live a block away and would probably be there every day if they opened at 8 or 9. (Though I'm sure my wallet would start to regret a $12 daily smoothie habit, lol.)
