San Francisco has microclimates and some days it can be sunny and the next day it can be cloudy during the Summer months. When it comes to taste in drink and food it can be somewhat similar to the weather in SF. One day it can be sweet as an Angel food cake and then it can turn sour like a lemon drop. There is a place on Telegraph in Berkeley which has good tropical drinks and food which feels like you are by the Pacific Ocean in Hawaii. It offers poke and lemonades and it's called The Wow Wow Hawaiian Lemonade. On a Summer stroll on Telegraph in Berkeley I landed at Wow Wow Hawaiian Lemonade. Inside there is some seating. I wanted something refreshing to eat on a hot day so I got the Masago Salmon Poke Bowl. It came with the Hawaiian version of caviar bumps and I added a few extra sauces. The Poke was fresh and tasty and the sauces did not drown the bowl. There were many varieties of lemonades like the Blue Hawaii Lemonade , Ginger Pineapple Lemonade, Mango Colada Lemonade and the Watermelon Basil Lemonade. I decided to try Classic Lemonade in a Mason jar. I expecting it to be sour like some on my social media feed. It was not too sweet and very refreshing with good flavor. I could drink a bucket of it. They also deliver using the Fantuan ( not purple rice treat) app. Do yourself a favor on a hot day and grab some lemonade at Wow Wow. You owe it to yourself. Tried out Wow Wow Hawaiian Lemonade and left with mixed feelings. We ordered the Blue Hawaii Bowl (without granola) & the Rainbow Poke Bowl. On the Blue Hawaii Bowl (without granola) the fresh fruit on top was good, but the base itself was a letdown. It had a bitter taste rather than being sweet, and overall it wasn't anything special or memorable. Also, keep in mind that the bowls don't come automatically with toppings; you have to pay extra for them, and they didn't have many options to choose from anyway. The texture of the base was fine, but the flavor missed the mark. Their smoothies actually looked a bit better, so if I ever went back, I'd probably try a smoothie instead, though I wouldn't go out of my way to return. My friend ordered the Rainbow Poke Bowl. He claimed it tasted fresh, wasn't dry, and had a lot of good flavors. It had a bit of a Hawaii vibe to the flavoring that reminded him of the islands, and while it was better than other mainland poke options, it still didn't quite compare to the real thing in Hawaii. The staff were very nice, and the interior of the shop is very decorative and cute. However, the location is in a rougher area with bad parking. Because the shop leaves its doors open, the strong smell from the street and the presence of homeless individuals hanging right outside drift directly into the shop. The owner is so friendly!! I was in the area and came in to try a few things. Their poke bowl is fresh and super flavorful. It's affordable and portions are on the larger side. I loved their acai bowls too especially the blue hawaii. I'm not a huge lemonade fan but I loved the lemonades here. The smoothies were also delicious. If you like tart lemonade then this is your place. We spent about $30 trying a variety of their lemonades....here's just a few because they tend to all taste the same since it's so tart and acidic. I highly recommend the flights where you can try 3 small lemonades at a time if you want to sample everything. The pina colada was good, not too bitter or tart. Strawberry lemonade tart but probably one of the sweetest to cut through the tartness. Watermelon was a bit too tart and bitter for me, I really didn't taste much Watermelon. Blue hawaii: lemonade with coconut water and blue spirulina was pretty tart and one of my least favorites. Mango colada: didn't really taste much mango through the tart lemonade and the coconut water isn't that sweet. Butterfly mojito: the lemonade and lime made this super tart and bitter, the pea flower tea was barely detectable. Again one of my least favorite drinks. Hawaiian tea lemonade: their Arnold palmer..the black tea couldn't cut the tart lemonade too acidic for me. PLG lemonade: once again the passionfruit and the guava can't cut through the tart and bitter lemons. Lava flow: the strawberry was overshadowed by the tart lemonade and I couldn't taste the coconut or pineapple. I love lemonade but this was too tart and at times bitter for me. I would prefer Aunt Annies or even Raising Canes lemonade to this any day at half the price. read more

The Blue Hawaii lemonade is lemon, coconut, with blue spirulina. Not too sour but the coconut doesn't make itself super obvious. To me it has a more yogurty flavor on top of the normal lemon and the blue spirulina doesn't add too much to it either. The service is quite fast. read more

I'm really late to write this review, my sincere apologies! I saw Wow Wow at Bizerkeley food fest and decided to get the strawberry pineapple, large size, which was 32oz and $7 at the time. They also offered 24oz for $6 or 16oz for $5. While I would say the quantity of drink for the price was quite good, I could really only taste the lemonade was disappointed that I couldn't really make out the strawberry or pineapple flavors. I hope that was just my bad luck with the batch at the time I bought it, but I personally really hope to be able to taste the other fruit flavors when the lemonade is advertised to have those other flavors. Small dining spot with only about 4-5 tables, kinda cramped, but great fresh poke. You feel healthier after eating here. Be aware that sometimes it can be packed with students trying to get their $15 acai bowls (not sure if that is too pricey or not, but people seem to really like them). The poke bowls are about $17-$21 and are super fresh and flavorful. I love the freshness of the fish, the fact that I can add extra fish for only $2, the delicious sauces and add-ons, etc. I have eaten here twice and am looking forward to going back. I recently found out that the San Jose branch has closed down, which makes me very sad!! Luckily, I came across this lovely refreshing spot as my son and his friend wanted Boba. Lol I wanted something to quench my thirst. That was a little tart and their delicious recipe of lemonade was perfect with the added tartness of Lilikoi/passionfruit. As I walked in, there was a family in front of me, and they were talking with the owners. So cute to see their children, interacting and laughing. I love that community aspect! Hee. Needed a healthy morning bite, so I placed my order for their Mini Original Açaí Bowl via Snackpass and picked it up to-go. Service was slow, having to wait well over 20 minutes with a remarkable line extending from the pick-up area. Granted, there were only two workers hustling in the back, and they were still super sweet and polite even in their big rush. Aside from the wait, I did enjoy the food a lot. The açaí bowl had a generous amount of strawberries and blueberries alike, mixed with granola and a drizzle of honey that completed the bowl. It's fresh and not too sweet, which I actually prefer. The blend was actually a little bitter in its aftertaste, which is likely the açaí berry itself -- that's how you know they use real ingredients. (Note: I believe the original recipe has a larger assortment of fruits, including bananas, but I edited my order because I'm allergic to avocados and bananas.) Regarding the atmosphere, Wow Wow makes it feel very tropical. You really hear it in their selection of upbeat pop music and their various palm tree, lemon decorations around the shop, and I'm here for it.
