The princess cake I got from La Farine was so pretty and delicious! The best cake I've had in a long time. Staff were really nice and the price was lower than what I was expecting.

Date: Saturday, August 30th, 2025 Time: around 8:30pm Fruit Tart *Blueberries *Kiwi *Strawberry *Mango *Blackberries I was at a friend's family's house for dinner and for dessert, someone brought a fruit tart from La Farine. I love my fruit desserts, so I was happy to see this. All the berries were super fresh, the mango sliced nice and thin. The pastry cream wasn't too sweet. The crust was a good contrast in texture - crisp, buttery, crumbly. Plus, it was beautiful with all the colors. If ever in the area, will try to stop by to try their other dessert offerings. Their pastries look delish! REVIEW #3851

Oh nothing.. just enjoying a mini morning bun, 2 free lemon bars and all the delicious aromas I could consume before heading out. Service was excellent. Pastry case was stocked all the way up and prices were reasonable. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area. Cheers, The Happy Hour Huntress

One of my wife's favorite bakeries, La Farine Bakery. She has been going here as a teenager. She loves their... GenEve: moist chocolate genoise cake, layered with rich milk chocolate mousse, finished with a bittersweet chocolate ganache. a chocolate lovers delight! no alcohol Morning Bun: croissant dough rolled thin, spread with brown sugar and cinnamon, rolled into a log, then cut and baked in muffin pans...nothing short of decadent. Lemon Bar (5/5). Oh man, this is fire! Sweet, Tart, but the top has a crust that is so delicious. They have a lot of different kinds of Fruit Tarts! So delicious! We picked up one for dessert. The apples were delicate and not too sweet as was the custard part.

my very first time here. i was parked right out front and seen how busy they were; people were just going in and out of there. I walked inside and i'm so indecisive they had so many options. I ended up getting a slice of carrot cake, chocolate cheesecake, a raspberry walnut scone i believe and a cookie that has chocolate chunks, almonds and dried apricots. let me start off by saying the carrot cake is the best carrot cake ive ever had in my life. It was moist and i hate frosting but the frosting wasn't too much it was fantastic i should have gotten a whole cake. i have yet to get reviews for the cheesecake and scone but the cookie was also interesting and was good too. will definitely be back!!

I really enjoyed my visit here. I drove to Oakland early for a birthday party, and walked around Piedmont Ave to find some pastries. I came here since not much was open, and I walked in and immediately became overwhelmed by the options for breads and baked goods made fresh daily. The staff were very patient and kind when I could not decide, and I ended up getting a few savory and sweet items to go along with my pour over single origin coffee. There is no iced coffee option, which I was a little surprised by (and I heard others try to order iced as well), but not a ding on their coffee quality at all. There is a row of seating along the wall that fills up quickly. Old time ambiance fit for a local bakery.

Very good fruit tarts and baked goods. Had an eclair and a few mini cupcakes . Prices are very reasonable for quality of baked goods. I recommend the fruit tart - fruit was fresh and delicious!

The hazelnut lattes were very rich and they have great low sugar options. The warm scones were soft.

I didn't give myself any expectations because sometimes food that are trending are overhyped. But these desserts were really good, even the flavors I typically do not prefer. The prices are pretty up there - our order was roughly $110. Was it worth it? Yes. Would I get them again? Only on special occasions. The flavors we got are below (ranked from my personal fave to least fave): 1. Pistachio - I'm probably biased towards this since I always like anything pistachio flavored. 2. Strawberry - A little tart, sweet, and the shell is just so good. 3. Mango - If you're a mango lover, this might be your favorite. I typically do not get mango-flavored desserts, but this one was good. For it to make it to my Top 3 says a lot. 4. Raspberry - I forgot why but I remember liking this lol. 5. Avocado - This one was shocking. I do not like anything avocado-flavored. I was hesitant on trying this but it was actually delicious. Very mellow and creamy. 6. Blueberry - For blueberry fans, this might not be for you. I do not like blueberries but this one was edible enough for me because the blueberry taste was not that strong. 7. Pomegranate - This was pretty bland. It made me think what pomegranate really tasted like because I couldn't really remember from this dessert. 8. Lemon - Most disappointing. There was something odd about its tartness. Not your typical lemon-flavored items. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience here. You can see the staff work on the dessert behind the counter. The staff assisting us was very patient because we were very indecisive on what to get, but we ultimately got one of everything. I want to emphasize that none of the desserts are bad. My ranking is just based on personal faves and I'm pretty picky. Highly recommend!

Their primary focus appears to be on their special order cakes-which look amazing. The woman at the counter was friendly and helpful. After asking a few questions, I decided on the Passion Coco cake($5) and the Brown Sugar Pecan scone ($3.50). I enjoyed the Passion Coco cake slice. The coconut, passion fruit, and strawberry flavors worked well together, although the passion fruit flavor was very subtle. The sponge was cake moist, and the butter cream was spot on with its melt-in-your-mouth creamy texture. The Brown Sugar Pecan scone was good, but it had more of a dense muffin texture than a traditional scone, and the flavors were a bit muted. They did not skimp on the pecans though, which was nice. I would have enjoyed bolder flavors and a more traditional scone texture. Overall, I found that the walk in options are limited, but a great spot for locals to stop in and pick up tasty baked goods-and I would definitely order one of their beautiful and delicious looking cakes for a special occasion.

I particularly recommend their Peanut Butter Miso (a flavor I don't think you can get at a lot of places, sweet savory), and Ginger Molasses. I've also been supporting them because they're part of the Rewards Network Dining. I subscribe to the program to get Alaska/Atmos points on qualified dining, and I'm trying to get as many points as I can, so dining with restaurants as part of that program is helpful. You can order full cakes as well as they have slices avaialble for purchase. I got a tiramisu slice for my mom, which she said she liked. Good addiiton to the neighorhood.
