Rather pretentious place. Food was good, though overly trendy with way too much kale. Despite being over staffed for the size of the place service was lackluster. Food was amazing and the ambiance was charming, but the Service was not that great. First, we waited way too long for Josh (our waiter) to acknowledge our table. When he finally did, he asked if we were ready to order, and I said I had a few questions first. Well he clearly didn't want to answer them, because he immediately had an attitude. In a nutshell, he told me if I didn't like spicy food, he couldn't suggest anything because our tastes didn't "mesh." After that, the few times he visited our table you could tell he was saying the appropriate thing (ie. how's the food?), but he'd be looking off in another direction. At the end he brought our check without asking if we'd like anything else and without clearing the plates off our table. On a side note, at one point I had to stand in the hallway to wait to use the restroom, and both times when Josh walked by, instead of walking past me against the other side of the hallway, he brushed past me way too close. The food was excellent, but Josh really cast a bad vibe to the experience. read more

The best breakfast I've had in a long time. We had the mini donuts-- freshly made so crunchy and almost creamy in the middle. I had the fried green tomato eggs benny and the eggs were perfectly cooked, topped with pimento cheese, hollindase, and some spiced tomato type sauce. Delicious and so so favorable. My husband had the lemon blueberry pancakes and really enjoyed them. The decor was really comfortable and cute. And the coffee was good too. Highly recommend. read more

I literally stumbled into the place. I was in town for a meeting and needed a place where I could get lunch in 45 minutes, walking distance from City Hall. Well, what a surprise. I had tortilla soup with sides of black-eyed peas and corn succotash. The tortilla soup was delicious--thick and hearty. (I'd had tortilla soup from Panera the night before, which was basically flavorless red salt-water with a few chips thrown in; truly nasty.) But the real treat was the soul food. The succotash was thick, hot, and delicious, and the black-eyed peas the best I've had outside Nashville--and as good as I'd hope to find there. And the total bill, WITH 25% tip, was $21. Sat at the bar; great wait staff and bar staff. Best dining surprise I've had in years. What a joy! read more

I only recently became aware of this new breakfast/lunch place in downtown Green Bay. So I thought I would check it out, and boy was I glad I did! Cozy place, but very nice, fairly simple elegant design... I was greeted immediately upon entering, asked my seating preference and brought to a table and given water within seconds. There is a variety of beverage choices, iced and hot coffees, espressos and teas, juices. The hard part was deciding what to order, the menu is not huge, but everything sounded wonderful... I settled on the pork belly grits, a dish that's perhaps a bit unusual for GB, and I am really glad I did. You get some pork belly and an aundoille sausage link served on a bed of grits, with a nice bit of a pimento cheese sauce topped with some fried okra. Everything was delicious! I am not a big grits guy, but these were creamy and flavorful...made even more delicious by incorporating some of the cheese sauce. The pork belly was perfect and the andouille was fabulous! I need to find out where they source it, because it was the best I have had locally. Even the okra was really good, and that's fairly hard to pull off. Okra usually tends to be tough and has a kind of wierd texture, but this had a nice light pickle and a nice breading, really good...never thought I would be praising okra! I can't wait to go back, so much I look forward to trying, chicken and waffles, po' boys, Nashville hot chicken, shakshuka,and their benedicts... Like I said, virtually everything on the menu looks good. My server was attentive and informative, very positive and upbeat. It made for a great dining experience, I will be raving about this joint for a while! read more

Happy to hand out five stars and be the first written review. For a newer downtown establishment everything felt well oiled. Our server was helpful, knowledgeable and our service was quick. We got cornbread for the table to start and it was definitely something I will crave. Among the three of us we got a Cajun Poboy, the lemon and blueberry Johnny cakes and a grilled chicken sandwich. All three of us left full and happy. Can't wait to go back. read more
