My 2 year old A/C unit was acting up after prob the last heat wave of 2017 (hopefully!). Over the course of like 2-3 days it started failing to cool the house to the specified temperature and would only cool to maybe 4-5 degrees above the setting. So, I checked yelp reviews and called Blu! They scheduled me for next-day service!!!! They also had multiple slot times available for my convenience. Saul came out and also called me en route during the timeframe I selected to let me know how far away he was from arriving. He is smart, knows his stuff, and fixed my AC unit super fast! He is also a pretty cool guy and personable. He even changed my air filter for me so I didn't have to do it! He quickly found the problem (low on gas due to a leak! Luckily the system is under warranty) and refilled my gas/refrigerant. The price was hundreds less than I had expected to spend today which was a relief and awesome. Not very impressed. Had appointment for early afternoon, got a call 45 minutes after the show time to say they were running late and that it'd be sometime between 2-4 before they could make it. Let's call that closer to 4 than 2. I wanted to get my air ducts and dryer vent cleaned. A reasonable price is around $35 per vent and $50 for the dryer. I have 10 vents including the register and the dryer vent, so I would expect $400 plus or minus a few bucks, being 4 hours late makes me lean towards the minus. The guy quoted me $600! Way too much and way out of line. I suspect that he had a long day and really didn't feel like doing the work so he quoted me a high price. No thanks, I won't bother you again. SAUL- Thank you for getting back to me. Yes, you did say you'd be late, and yes I realize what it takes to properly get the vents cleaned. I'm not looking for a $39 special, I'm looking for someone to show up on time ready to give me a reasonable quote for a small condo and ready to get the work done that day. Saul runs a great business. He installed an A/C system for me two years ago and we noticed we were having a problem with it. He was pretty busy so I tried another company first hoping it was an easy fix, two visits later and a bunch of money wasted on another company just making up issues and never actually fixing the problem I ended up calling Saul back. BEWARE of this company! Came to check our AC unit. Said that we had too much freon and let some out. Too much? Then checked in attic and said we needed a new TBX to the tune of at least $800. Said they'd come back next week to install it for us. We got a second opinion because we didn't want to wait until next week. It's hot! They rechecked everything and the there is nothing wrong with the TBX. Problem? We had NO FREON. So let's get this straight? On one day we had too much freon so they let part of it out. Days later it's empty? Hmmmmmmm.... Freon is apparently $100 a pound to refill. Wonder how much money we lost on that move? This company LIED about our freon level being too high and actually took freon out leaving it EMPTY. They could have told us we needed freon and we would have paid them for refill. I guess the refill cost wasn't enough money for them so they blamed the issue on something else to get our money for an $800 TBX replacement. Will never use this company again and will never refer or recommend them. They take advantage of people for their profit. read more

The builders installed a water source heating system which has had issues on and off again for over 10 years. It would consume so much of my time to get it working again. When it stopped working this time, I called someone out who claimed they were familiar with the system but 2 months later, it still wasn't working. I found Blu HVAC on Yelp. I called and Saul sympathized with me on my situation. He said he liked a good challenge and was determined to getting the heater working again. He came out and said that it was the check valve and installed one in (I had one already but apparently it was stuck). It still wasn't working. He said there isn't anything else (everything else was checked and another part was just replaced by the previous person). I have a long spreadsheet of issues with the system and I now look forward to having this be the end of issues with the system. He suggested that I get the system off from the water source and just have it running on it's own - heat source that would run just the heat and A/C. The price was reasonable and well worth it. Saul, Adrian, and Jes came out, switched the system and got it working (both the heat and A/C)! If I had known I could have switched out the system years ago, I would have done it.
