Pros -The bread is very soft and smells great! -Produce is VERY fresh and crisp. -Very fast service. Didn't have to wait long at all for being such a busy little place. -Very friendly service staff. It was a huge disappointment: The supposed sourdough bread was more like regular white bread, the bacon was paper thin and skimpy, the turkey and ham was like that prepackaged Oscar Mayer garbage, the lettuce and tomato were bland and not ripe, and the jack cheese had practically no flavor. There is no excuse for this in Salinas -- there are fresh ripe vegetables for thousands of acres in every direction! Getting a poor club sandwich like this in Salinas is like not being able to get a good cup of coffee in Ecuador. I cannot imagine why this club sandwich did not have nice yeasty sourdough, with red ripe tomatoes and green lettuce, thick chewy bacon, a meaty cut of turkey and ham, and punchy jack cheese to bring it all together -- what's up Della Rose? How could you get every ingredient of a club sandwich so horribly wrong? I would expect a pathetic sandwich like this in North Dakota. There's no excuse for it in California. Especially not when I have had club sandwiches 10 times better for a similar price in other cities. Save your $7 and go to Subway -- at least you know what you're getting. read more

On the outside you can really tell what a deli's sandwiches and subs are like. I was surprised of the quality of the bread and meat. Bread was made in the morning and the meat was cut to oreder. The tri tip here was nice cut with little to no fat, my personal preference, good taste and not dry at all. The sandwich itself was great as well. I really love this place and hurts me to have to write this but when you pay almost 10 dollars for a tri-tip sandwich and you need to spit every other half bite out it kinda make you feel foolish for paying that much. I've never had problems like this before and maybe it was a bad day. But half the veggies that should have been on my sandwich was missing and every other bite of tri-tip was completely hard and I had to spit it out. My first half of my sandwich was left with a small sliver of meat on it after I opened it and inspected every piece of meat. The second half i was unable to even eat. I wasnt able to go back or get anything else to eat due to my lunch being short. But it made me very sad. Not sure if I'll be back.... maybe later on, but not anytime soon. read more

BEST TRI-TIP SANDWICH IN SALINAS! This little gem is tucked away amongst the produce plants deep in south Salinas, but trust me it's worth the drive. The sandwiches are awesome and the guys behind the counter are always super cool and after a few trips they will even remember your name. I HIGHLY recommend the tri-tip on a sourdough roll with all the fixin's. It's amazing and only costs like 2 bucks more than some crappy subway sandwich, which should make it a no-brainer. Just get there early because between 12-2 the place gets packed, and they will usually run out of tri-tip pretty quickly which tells you how good it is. if you are getting your food to go I would suggest phoning in your order and it will be waiting for you when you walk in the door. This may be the only actually real deli in the Salinas area with fresh sandwiches made to order. The manager or owner who greeted me for my pick-up order was friendly and really on the ball. They make all of their sandwiches to order and are nice and speedy. The sandwiches and wraps are BIG, so come hungry. This place is fabulous. When you walk in, you immediately smell the Tri-Tip on the rotisserie. I had the Italian sub and my husband had the Tri-Tip sandwich. The Tri-Tip sandwich was juicy and fresh tasting. It had roasted peppers on it and had a ton of flavor. My Italian sub was great and had a lot of meat on it. This is the only place besides the gas station nearby that has any food . It's a food desert in that neck of the woods . Bought a roast beef and chicken club.
