I have been a Marina Bagel lover since a kid, and I live in San Jose now but when I come down I just get let down due to the new ownership of Marina Bagel. My brother lives in Salinas and I have had their Salinas bagels vs their Marina location it is really night and day... This place needs to be on the same level as their bagel shop in Salinas. Anyone who been in living in Marina knows this is a great opportunity for you to take over this market. Limited bagels and cream cheeses. Quality was not the same as I the one in Salinas, and that is why this review is 2 star. Pasta is pasta, great but nothing crazy. I am not ordering pasta that early in the morning though. read more

I had only a short time for lunch and was so hungry right at noontime. I saw that BagelCorner & Pastability's, which looks from the outside like a KFC, was open. Pulled right in to a parking spot. Came in and took a gander at the quite large menu. I was a bit overwhelmed at first but quickly figured out a meal that would suit my taste buds. The Leonardo, a side of minestrone soup and a lemonade combo. ($24.02 including tax, I gave a little extra for the tip). Pasta by the bowl, or a tray for the family, or an even larger tray for catering available. With many sides to accompany your meal. Then there are Bagel Corner Bistro items, make it a combo and add a drink and a side. You can also build your own sandwich from a large array of sandwich fillings. Also they have a nice selection of dessert if you have a bit of a sweet tooth after your meal. You order at the counter then the server, mine was Delaina, brings out the piping hot food with a smile and such nice hospitality. I am so glad that I popped in. I've been going to their Salinas location since I was a kid and have always been obsessed with their Artichoke Bisque soup. So I was really excited to see they were opening a combined Bagel Corner + Pastability's location here in Marina. I stopped in for breakfast this morning and had a great experience. The staff was amazingly friendly and super knowledgeable. Just a heads-up: the drive-through isn't open yet, but they mentioned it should be up and running in the next couple of weeks, so for now you'll need to go inside to order. I built my own sandwich and it was delicious--though they did leave off one of the ingredients I added, which was a bit of a bummer. Still, everything tasted great, and I'm excited to come back soon for my beloved Artichoke Bisque. Overall, a solid addition to Marina and I'm looking forward to becoming a regular! read more

As someone who lives in Marina, this is such a gem to our small city! You can get something satisfying to eat at any time of day, with amazing desserts. Always went to the Salinas location, and now there's a bagel corner right down the street from my work! Everyone inside is awesome, and always super friendly. When I can't make it to the location, I use Uber Eats, and they forgot a salad ONCE. In my dozens of orders. Ordered my usual this morning, and they gave me an extra salad that was left out with a note! Love how they take care of customers, it made my day! read more

I've gone to both stores in Salinas and have loved both of them for years. I've come to expect a certain level of quality and cleanliness. I was surprised walking into this new location in Marina to see that the front doors had dirty windows and were very old and the paint was worn off on them. It really wasn't very welcoming. If you're opening up a new shop why not paint the doors and clean the windows? It didn't get much better when I walked in the floors were covered in food crumbs the entire floor not just one spot, clearly there had not been adequate cleaning done prior to opening that morning. The floor needed a good sweeping and mopping. It looked like it was the floor from the previous business and there were cracked tiles in the floor that hadn't been repaired. The decor is very sparse and the menu is very confusing because they have all the bagel stuff and the pasta stuff all mixed together up on the board as opposed to having them separate and easier to navigate. They also did not have the senior special listed on the board and I had to ask for it separately. The bagel was good and the cream cheese was fine. The coffee was good but it took over 12 minutes to get our order and there was only one other person ahead of us. The lady at the counter was very friendly and helpful. They have a huge kitchen and apparently they do a lot of catering there so I can see the need for a huge kitchen and you can look right into it from the counter and it looks very messy and very disorganized. I know that they're new at this location, but with the history and knowledge they gained and running their businesses in Salinas you think they would've at least tried to put on a good face to start with. Get a broom and sweep the floor for God sakes! read more
