Food was good lots of flavors. The cheesecake I bought was delicious and the fruit tasted amazing. Fries are good also. The place is definitely really nice and pretty. I even saw a booth that was kinda tucked into a wall and seemed so comfy and would definitely request it next time. The also have baked items which was nice and perfect for someone who likes sweet treats after dinner. I ordered the past and can say it was perfect I would 100% come again and bring someone with me.

Original pancakes with eggs & hashbrowns, no meat sub extra egg(s). This was a ton of food!

31st St. Grill did NOT disappoint! The food was very, very tasty. The menu is vast and can accommodate all types of eaters! They made my sandwich with grilled shrimp since I don't eat any other meat(s). This place was hopping with customers which is a good indicator that the food, atmosphere and service is sufficient! There was a slight wait for drinks but that's expected when business is booming! Another plus is that they had flavored creamer for my coffee! TIP: The portion sizes are large and shareable! My hubby couldn't finish all of his food.

This was our first time visiting this restaurant. My wife ordered the New York steak, which was cooked perfectly and had great flavor, along with mashed potatoes. However, the vegetables were overwhelmed with garlic, so much so that she couldn't eat them. My daughter had the French dip. The seasoning was a bit different but still pleasantly mild, and dipping it in the au jus really enhanced the flavor. She also had the sweet potato fries, which she enjoyed. I had the Cali Cubano with sweet potato fries. The Cubano was outstanding--everything came together with the right balance of ingredients and flavors. The service was fast and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm, friendly, and inviting. Overall, we enjoyed a great meal in a comfortable setting and would gladly recommend this restaurant.

It was a Friday, and we were too tired to cook dinner, so I looked for a place for my husband and me to eat. I told him, "Let's try 31st Grill." It's a hidden gem in Salinas! So far, I've never gone wrong with my restaurant suggestions to my husband. We ordered chicken piccata and ribs. We didn't finish them, but they were good! I love their garlic bread! The prices are reasonable. Their pastries are underrated; I think they've been sitting there, but they still taste great. I got a triple chocolate muffin and chocolate cookies. Maybe they should add their own iced coffee drinks, too, to give it a cafe/restaurant vibe. The server was attentive too. We would come back again.

We absolutely love this place! Been here for breakfast (most often), lunch, and dinner. Their food is full of flavor and there are so many options to choose from! The ambiance is casual and comforting. Their breakfast/lunch hours are busier & louder, but their dinner time is calm and quiet. Service is also great, you can truly sense the great teamwork ethic. Last night we enjoyed their chicken wrap and chicken avocado sandwich, delicious!

Ask the Community - The 31st Grill

Does The 31st Grill sell their pies by the slice? Because I know you can order whole pies so i'm also wondering if they sell slices of their pies for takeout orders too

Yes they do. They also serve great burger too . I love their twice baked almond croissants.

Whats the date i was there?

I've been there three or four times since they opened. Most recently in mid May 2024

The fried green beans are awesome. Stoked they had a cheese flat bread for the 5yo. Burgers were delicious. Nothing was super greasy it was very well balanced. Its not "bar food". Its a legit restaurant. I had the street tacos which were flavorful and I preferred the carne asada for once because its all meat no fat. Lots of chicken wing flavor options too so my girls were happy. Calisqueeze on tap topped my meal! The only down was that the restrooms were more local bar vibe restrooms but it is what it is. Its a local bar too! Thanks for a great meal on our road trip.

We were very impressed as 15 years ago the downtown was not a place to visit. Now it is. We like these "neighborhood" kind of restaurants/bars. Like the French Brassiere concept, but not as fancy, Dubber's is a place to sit, drink, chat with friends, get a bite to eat and pay a reasonable price for the occasion. Decent menu. We were driving so no booze. Old Town Burger ($15) with onion rings for $2. Wife did fried green beans (!) at $12 and we had iced tea and sodas at $3.75 each. Lots of photos and memorabilia on the walls and there were a lot of sports items, so owners must be into some teams. Very clean. Friendly wait staff, we had Karen K., and service was prompt and food accurate. An excellent stopping point if driving through the Salinas, the Garden Bowl of the Country. Only an hour south of San Fransisco.

We ordered avocado toast, French toast, banana pecan pancake, house potatoes, and an Aperol spritzer. My avocado toast was served on a single very thick piece of bread, which had a very generous amount of avocado smash and was topped off with this delightful and fresh arugula salad. I added an over easy egg for an extra charge that was the perfect balance. The house salad was simple with butter lettuce, cherry tomatoes, radish, cucumber, with a light lemon house dressing that brought the salad together. It was refreshing. The French toast is pretty standard. Nothing that particularly stood out. The banana pecan pancake was delicious and shared with everyone at the table. The house potatoes were extra crispy on the outside but soft on the inside, which I found particularly satisfying. Overall, we had a pleasant experience and found Portabello's to be a good brunch spot in Salinas. The service was fast, the food portions were big, the food tasted fresh, and it was a nice ambiance. I would definitely return for the avocado toast and potatoes. Side note - I noticed Caesar Salad was misspelled on the menu as "Caeser"

The restaurant has a great drink selection and a great menu. We were pleasantly surprised to learn they offer a Tuesday dinner special that includes an appetizer, entrée, and dessert for only $32! This menu also had a special drink selection. I ordered the house salad, prawn risotto, and chocolate lava cake. The salad was very fresh with spring mix and butter lettuce, which I especially enjoy, and it was topped with a light vinaigrette style house dressing that was light and delicious. The prawn risotto was creamy, flavorful, and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. The chocolate lava cake was rich and very chocolatey, a bit too rich for my personal taste, but still enjoyable. It also came with vanilla gelato, which was delicious. As a table, we also ordered the tableside tiramisu, which was such a fun and unique experience. I am a tiramisu connoisseur, so anytime I see it on the menu, I ordered it. It is my favorite dessert. Although this was not my favorite one, I very much enjoyed the experience. I will mention the espresso needs a little more time to fully soak into the ladyfingers, but the presentation and experience alone made it worth trying. The ambiance was lovely with nice background music, and the service was attentive and welcoming. Everyone in our party truly enjoyed their meal, especially the birthday girl.
