My sister had a consultation back in September for laser eye surgery. She really wanted to get it done but have been putting it off for a while. She had the courage to set an appointment and needed someone to take her home...that is where I come in. They have 3 locations: Long Island, Brooklyn & Manhattan. We went to the Long Island location because it is closer. The parking situation there is limited and confusing. The office is spacious and clean. The receptionist is friendly & personable. The staff is so informative and explained everything to us several times. The actual procedure, to me, felt like 5 minutes max, most of the time is spent waiting in the waiting room. I watched the entire procedure being done to my sister and that made her feel very comfortable since I was in the room with her. Afterwards, she received her medications and made a follow up appointment. Her eyes and nose were watering a lot and became sensitive to sun light after the procedure. However, today she is fine and says she has perfect vision. She use the discount from power 105.1 fm breakfast club to help reduce the cost if the procedure.

Surgery Literally took seconds to be completed!

I've see many reviews on here regarding Dello Russo Laser Vision but none of those reviews include a price point . Can someone detail how much they paid for their LASIK surgery and what that process was like ? Please and thank you.

In doing my research, TLC kept coming up as the best place to explore surgical options for correcting my vision...I made an appointment for a consultation to see if I was even a candidate for PRK... The surgical consultant, Laura was very knowledgeable, helpful and an absolute pleasure to work with. She ran a full barrage of tests to determine my eligibility for two options I was considering: 1) PRK procedure for both eyes for full correction and 2) PRK for my dominant eye only (known as mono-vision)...The mono-vision option is typical for someone like me who has loss in both near and distance vision...After fully explaining the pros and cons of both options, answering my many questions and determining that I am indeed a candidate for either procedure, Laura introduced me to Dr. Morschauser. Dr. Morschauser performed another test or two and we discussed the procedures in greater detail as well as recovery and what my ultimate expectations should be...We concluded that I should wear one contact in my dominant eye for a few days to best simulate what mono-vision PRK would "look" like for me and to see if I was comfortable and able to see both near and distance clearly. If so, I will definitely be scheduling surgery with TLC and Dr. Morschauser. Neither Laura or Dr. Morschauser made me feel like they were selling me a procedure. During the consultation, they determined that my vision was a full diopter worse than I had been corrected to for the past 2 years..They gave me contact lenses to wear for the next few days, to experiment with mono and full correction at my true prescription. It is only a day since my consultation and I am doing well with the simulated mono-vision. Assuming that I continue to be satisfied with different lighting conditions and I am able to see near and distance, I expect to schedule surgery by next week. If you are considering LASIK or something a little more complex like PRK or mono-vision, I full recommend TLC in Garden City. The staff and Doctors are top-notch and the facility is state of the art. Look for an update to this review in the coming week or two...

When I…read morearrived to my appointment, on time, I was greeted with a poorly printed and low on ink sign in sheet. I filled it out then handed it back to the receptionist and proceeded to wait for my appointment. After 40 min of waiting, I asked if I was going to be seen soon and was told someone would call my name. I sat back down for another 15 minutes. Annoyed, I went to a different person (presumably the manager/shift lead) and inquired about what is going on. She scrambled to find my check in, and just to realize it was lost in the mix. They called me in immediately after that. I was seen by a young male doctor who was nice enough. Appointment went smoothly but whatever was going on at the front desk needs to be addressed. Likely never to return to such an unprofessional and disorganized environment.

Very disappointed with OCLI Vision in Garden City…read more My wife was handed multiple forms to sign before her appointment, but nobody clearly explained that certain tests might not be covered by insurance. We have both medical and vision insurance and were surprised to receive a bill afterward. Getting answers was nearly impossible. Calls went unanswered, emails were ignored, and it took almost 10 days plus an in-person visit before we finally received a response. The office manager, Kristy DiSipio, simply emailed us the signed paperwork and stated that we were responsible for the bill without providing any meaningful explanation. She also left a note for the billing department, and when I called, it was clear nobody was interested in reviewing the situation or helping resolve it. We ultimately paid the bill, but the lack of transparency, poor communication, and dismissive customer service were unacceptable. Patients place their trust in medical providers and deserve honesty, transparency, and clear communication. A professional office should clearly explain any charges that may not be covered by insurance before services are performed, not leave patients with unexpected bills and little explanation afterward.

The WORST experience. The unprofessional front end staff was the start. They do a lot of socializing in front of patients, eating chips at the front desk, loud and just not a professional office setting. Then one of the staff members comes out to call the patient in he is texting on his phone. Then a staff member calls me in to do the initial screening, I asked him if he had my records because I have a certain lens in my eye. He told me he doesn't think they still have my records, but he said I've only been here five months so he is not sure. Well, that doesn't make me feel great that the person who did most of my testing has only been there five months. Meanwhile, still joking around with other staff members. It was unfortunate that with my insurance which is widely usedI was told only one doctor accepted. I didn't feel like he spent any amount of time examining my eyes. He just reiterated what I told him already that I have dry eyes. Within not even 10 minutes of leaving the office I get an email that I have another appointment scheduled for a week from then. I called back, but the woman told me that office already closed which I find hard to believe because the office was packed when I left. So I'm not sure if I was reaching a switchboard somewhere else. With numerous numerous texts, reminding me of this appointment that I did not make, nor did I need I was unable to cancel this appointment, even though I had canceled many times when receiving the texts. I continued to get phone messages I tried calling the office three times on Monday morning where the woman told me just ignore it. It was canceled again to be followed up by another phone call, reminding me I had an appointment. How can I trust this office with my eyes if I can't even trust the office with basic reception duties. It's sad because Stahl Eye Center was a team that I felt confident with my eye care needs.

So .. when I experienced some blurring and discomfort in one eye ... and the practice I used to go to had been bought up by a major health network with sophisticated customer avoidance technology -- naturally I went back to SightMD. Well ... an hour to be seen ... in total two hours for the visit, of which perhaps 10 minutes was with the Physician, who prescribed Sodium Chloride OINTMENT when the same medication, same dose, is available OTC as eye DROPS. That speaks volumes about the priority being placed on customer comfort ... If I was considering another surgery I would ABSOLUTELY see SightMD again ... but for routine screening -- I'd go back to one of the opticians who keep an ophthalmologist or two on staff.

After my annual visit with him, I mentioned that I wanted to ensure the floaters I had recently experienced were not a significant issue. He recommended I see a doctor at Sight MD in Garden City. The best appointment I could get was a month away, which was not a problem for me. However, on the day of my appointment, I received a call asking me to come earlier, which I did. When I arrived, I was under the impression that I would be seen immediately. Instead, I waited about half an hour before entering the examining rooms. The process involved dilation and a review to discuss the purpose of my visit, followed by another fifteen-minute wait. Then, I underwent an eye exam with a machine, waited again, and was brought into a different room for a vision test. This sequence was confusing to me. If they were part of the same organization, I assumed they would have seen that I had already had a comprehensive exam thirty days ago. But on the other hand, that could be the routine for every visit. After that, I spent an hour waiting in the exam room for the doctor. When the doctor finally arrived, they examined my retina on both eyes and stated I was fine. That took about five minutes. To clarify, this review is not about the doctor's competence, my experience was very brief, so I cannot really comment on their skill. Overall, this office operates more like a factory, with patients as conveyor belt items moving through a system. I will not return to this office again. I am fortunate to have a trusted doctor within the organization who is not part of this office and who provides the quality care I need.

I truly do not understand the negative reviews of this place!…read more I came here recently for cataract surgery and had an amazing time (or as amazing as surgery can possibly be!). I only waited about 30 minutes after my arrival time to be taken into pre-op. During that time I spoke with the billing department (private rooms) and paid my deductible and coinsurance. They answered any questions I had. My ONLY unpleasant experience was the billing person who called me the day prior to my surgery who had the nastiest attitude and played dumb when I asked the same questions I ended up receiving answers to on the day of my surgery. The nurses in the back (Maura was my pre-op nurse) are incredible. So friendly. They check on you constantly without being overbearing. The orderlies who take you to the laser room then the OR are friendly and polite. My recovery nurse (Fiona) was phenomenal and made sure I felt good and ready to go. I elected to not be wheeled out to the car and she allowed me to walk alongside her, which I found nice since a lot of places pretty much force you to use a wheelchair post-op. The waiting room is huge. It's only cold near the door to outside. If you sit further away from there, I promise you will not be cold. Plenty of parking although it was a bit icy due to a recent storm. Easy to get to, right off the Northern State. Amazing facility!

The initial staff member that I checked in with was pleasant. After a two hour wait here, I get to the room for them to verify my mother's procedure, and after a series of questions, the surgical coordinator leaves the room. A tall man with dark brown hair comes in, doesn't introduce himself , and starts asking my mother questions about her procedure. Due to her language impairment, she had trouble answering. I am then told after waiting for two hours and missing a day of work (as a healthcare provider myself), that they will not take her, and that I needed a healthcare proxy for them to do the procedure. They never communicated or verified and health conditions in the phone call check-in prior to her visit. I was told this was a simple laser procedure from her eye doctors office. They ONLY verified covid symptoms and current travel. I asked for a manager and then was bombarded by two additional staff members who claimed to be managers, without them providing their names. The male manager was very defensive stating "just because you say you are her healthcare proxy, doesn't make it true". I've been my mother's caregiver since the changes in her health. Her doctor knows this, but they did not bother to verify this. I wasted a day coming here. The bottom line, they were more concerned with legality than actually taking responsibility for their lack of competence/communication or PATIENT CARE. They also had additional delays there due to an HVAC failure. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!
