The procedure was completely painless, recovery easy and I'm walking around with 20/20 vision. But the most amazing thing is the staff. De La Russo was close enough to go and get a consultation. I was told I need laser surgery; however, according to the attendant, I would get a discount. I agree to do it. Upon completion of my paperwork, I was informed that insurance would not cover it and that I would have to pay cash, which I agreed to do. Nonetheless, the representative at the desk collected my insurance information. I asked if I was paying cash, why were they collecting my insurance information? Her response was "in case something happened. It turns out that they submitted the invoice to my insurance, my insurance paid, and I paid as well. I received paperwork from my insurance stating they paid, so I proceeded to call my insurance and informed them I paid cash as well. The insurance stated they had to return the money to me; the insurance called many times to let them know and also to follow-up. Fast forward, DeLa Russo never refunded the money they owed me. SCAMMERS!!!! If you live in Connecticut, literally run from this place!! They offer free follow up care for a year which is a complete lie. They closed their Westport office without calling clients to give them a heads up. The only place to follow up is in New Rochelle. They say they have a Stamford location but not for follow ups. Easy way for them to save money if they can't provide follow up for their clients. They are just a big factory cranking out 10min procedures. Do not trust your vision on these fools. read more

The exam wasn't thorough - I am basing this off of a consultation I did at OCLI (which was very thorough) Everything seemed rush - They wanted me to come the next day to do the procedure even though I told them I was having a medical procedure the next day, she said I can come afterwards... I didn't feel comfortable with that. So we scheduled for exactly a week later in which I was told to not wear my contacts for the week - So I thought to myself, if I cannot wear my contacts for a week, how would it have been possible to get the procedure done the day after the consultation when I had wore my contacts 24hrs prior to said consultation I had to ask a majority of the questions as opposed to them telling me everything I need to know about pre, during and post op I didn't meet the Dr - at OCLI, I was seen by the DR who would be doing my surgery No enhancements included They said only one post-op follow up Price I was quoted was $4500 which was $260 less than OCLI, but I less comfortable and confident w/ Dello Russo based on the consultation I was asked to leave a deposit (OCLI didn't ask for one), which I did not feel comfortable doing In comparison to the consultation with Dello Russo Laser and OCLI, I feel more comfy with the latter. I just got lasik last week and my vision is awesome! Process was quick and the Dr. and staff were Great!

Scheduling was quick and straightforward, I had to reschedule one appointment and that was accommodated. At the intake appointment my prescription was taken and my corneas were measured, and then the results were explained to me. I chose to pay in full up-front ($4500), and the surgery was one week later. I didn't take Xanax because I am nursing, and that was fine; Jeffrey D-R has solid bedside manner for walking patients through the procedure, and the degree to which he has that down made me feel confident about him as a surgeon too. I was able to use my phone to get a ride home, started taking my eyedrops on the schedule they set, and had pain starting between 1 hour after the procedure and peaking between 2.5-3 hours. The pain was maybe a 5 or 6 out of 10 at its worst; I needed to lie down alone and listen to audiobooks, but it wasn't intolerable. The pain stopped pretty abruptly 3.5 hours after the procedure. That evening I felt able to go on a short walk at night with sunglasses on, the next day I went out for several hours with sunglasses+eyedrops and had no trouble navigating, and 48 hours later at my follow-up my vision was measured as better than 20/20. They let me bring my kids to the follow-up, which I appreciated. My eyesight is much better than it ever was with glasses and that's extremely exciting for me! Wore glasses my whole life. Went to the nj location in march for a consultation, they did some rests on my eyes and told me i had a -9.00 prescription which is very near sighted fir someone in their early 20's. The doctors were beyond nice and answered all my questions (90min worth). I also applied for the fincancing which i was approved for, they have many diffrent options and companies ranging from a 2-7 yr finance with no intrest if paid within time. I put down a $200 deposite, that included me getting a 7 yr insurance which would of cost me 1200 down the line if i ever needed a touch up, and since my vision is so bad i know i would need one in a few years. My friend got his lasik the same day, i did mines a month later. During surgery day, they retrated my eyes and informed me on all the follow up care i need. I was super nervous an thry gave me an anxiety pill. During the preceded i cried like a baby but it wasn't so bad. The most pain you feel is a little eye pressure but everything was done in 3 min. After i sat in recover for 30 min then Was sent home. I saw immediately after but since i had a protective lenses over my eye so everything was blurry. I slept right after the surgery all day like they told me to with the help of medication. I returned the next day, they took the lenses off my eyes and i saw much better. I have blood clots on my eyes but its from the procedure pressure and will go away soon. This procedure is worth getting since i spent nearly 20 yrs with glasses. I never got surgery here, I just came in for a consultation and I did not have a good experience. I wear ortho-k lenses, overnight lenses that temporarily correct vision by reshaping your cornea. I received a call from this office because I scheduled a consult and I let the lady know that I wear these lenses and she said I can still come in to get a check up on the health of my eye at the very least and have some of my questions answered. After getting some scans, the receptionist comes into my room and tells me I cannot speak to a doctor until I come back with no contacts for a month. I've consulted multiple lasik offices so far and none have denied me from being seen just because I've been wearing ortho-K. They understood that I didn't want to stop wearing my lenses unless I am told that everything else checks out with my eyes to get the procedure done. I had all my consultations and after care at this office, but the procedure in New Hyde Park. Either way, the team travels from office to office so you get the same people each time. I have been toying with Lasik for YEARS. After I got married turns out my husband's insurance covered Lasik, so I went for the consultation. Fast forward a week, i have 20/15 vision. A FAR cry from my 20 years of glasses and contacts. Everything was just so easy, and the whole team is just so great. The consultation is a quick yes or no after a few eye tests, you either qualify or you don't. It's nice to know they don't just take anyone.... The actual procedure is one xanax and 2 mins an eyeball long. I went home, slept it off and woke up with perfect vision. ( sliiiiiiiiiiiiight discomfort for a day or two and some red splotches on my eyes). Knowing what I know now, I would have paid the full amount. It was cheaper than I anticipated. $4500 covers all your care for 5 years. I can see everything, I can wear sunglasses whenever I want, I don't need my glasses to find my glasses, I won't get lost on the beach looking for my towel. As an update, I spent thousands of dollars to not wear contacts and after going back to the dr after 6 months when my vision should be stabilized he prescribed me (drum roll).... contacts in one eye! I went from -6 vision to +1 in that eye, and I still don't really understand how this happened. He said it only happens 2% of the time that patients have to come back for a second PRK procedure, but having done more research I think this statistic is drastically understated. Oh and my night vision is shit, horrible halos and glares, so that's new and from the surgery (he said give it a year to go away). Hopefully this can help others who are thinking about doing the procedure. Please do your research and go to multiple consultations. They will pressure you into a non refundable deposit that day to get $1k off but any good dr should respect that you need to do your homework first. read more

I would not recommend anyone going to this place. All they care about is money. I invested in myself to have my eye sight back and they promised 20/20 vision. I even paid extra like they asked for lifetime warranty. according the Tatyana if your vision changes we can correct it again at no cost. Guess what not even a year I had to go back to correct my vision. That lasted not even 6 months. I am back to wearing glasses and contacts again. It's like I never had surgery at all. My current doctor told me I should not have gotten the surgery. May be I should have gotten it in my 30's. If I could I would rate them zero. Care about your patients not money. This month makes a year since I had my surgery and I can honestly say it's the best investment I've ever made! The quality of my life has improved so much, there is no greater feeling than waking up in the morning and seeing everything in HD! I appreciate my vision every single day. As far as the procedure itself, it is not painful AT ALL, I promise. I didn't sleep the night before because I was so scared and had to take a xanax right before to go through with it. This has been my experience with Dello Russo I had the procedure back in 2012 I was sold on a deal where if I paid 5 thousand rather than the regular price of 4 thousand , I would get a lifetime warranty where I could go back for re-treats if needed . I went back a year later to have my right eye re-treated at no additional cost which was as per the original deal . Happy customer right ? Not so fast I need to have my left eye done which has deteriorated over the last few years . I went to the Long Island office and met with Dr.Jeffrey Dello Russo and was examined and told they could do the re-treat but it would cost me over 600 dollars to do it . He said it had to do with some machine that would be used . I expressed that I wasn't willing and shouldn't have to pay anything more as per our original agreement. He responded by telling me to get glasses haha. That is hilarious the point of having this surgery is to not have to wear glasses . The experience began the minute I got the courage to open the door and walked into the office In the Bergenfield New Jersey location.The minute I walked in I was greeted with a crew of people that made me feel like family instantly. I no longer had fear. They performed several Eye examinations which made me feel at ease because I knew they were making sure that I was a candidate for this procedure. That the Della Russo walked in explained the exams, and gave me all my options. I was nearsighted and farsighted, so the option I went with was to repair both eyesight's and never have to wear any kind of glasses. I was so at ease and so relaxed and so sure of Dr. Della Russo, I got the surgery right then and there, it's been four weeks now, and I have 2020 for reading. For distance I was advised is going to take a little longer to adjust but every day The night Vision Has been getting better, The issue with the night vision is traffic lights and car lights looked like shooting stars, but the last few days I noticed that little by little it's adjusting to the night vision. Went for my first ever consultation for Lasik here, but later discovered after subsequent consultations with other Lasik centers that it was not as thorough of a consultation as other places. Here they only ran a few tests to determine candidacy, where other consultations run much more thorough and detailed tests to make sure you are a good candidate with no risks. Was quoted a price for the surgery and was on the brink of booking it for the next week, but didn't get a good feeling from Ahmed, the point person for finance, who was extremely condescending and rushing me to book. He kept mentioning the young man outside who already booked. I wasn't sure why that was relevant as peer pressure doesn't work too well in the adult world. Wanted a slightly different surgery date but Ahmed scoffed at me like I was asking for too much. Extremely condescending and not "family"-like at all, like they keep advertising. I call back the very next morning and all of a sudden the price jumps up $500. Ahmed says I only had that one night to take the previous offer, which was not at all clear or explicit in our meeting. If you're in a rush to get Lasik and would like to be rushed by Ahmed to make a snap decision in an extremely unprofessional and condescending manner, then this is the perfect place for you. Having a night to think things over, is simply unheard of and preposterous at this business. And although I can't speak to the quality of the actual surgery, since obviously I wouldn't ever recommend anyone to patron Dello Russo for Lasik vision, I can say that there are so many other doctors who will spend two hours running thorough examinations of your cornea, retina, pupil, literally your entire eye socket just to make sure you are a good candidate. I did not get this from Dello Russo. Keep in mind, Dello Russo has had to pay $2.1 million for a man who sued (along with 16 others) for malpractice because they were not eligible candidates for Lasik but were approved anyway and now the man is legally blind and requires a part of his eye to be replaced. read more

Made an appointment on their website for a "Free" Consultation to see if I am a Lasik candidate. Chose the time and date and entered my contact information. Five minutes later I received a call to confirm my appointment. The first question she asked me was if I had ever had Lasik surgery before to which I answered yes. She asked me if I had done it there and I answered no. She then told me that the consultation would cost $250 even though the website states the consultation is free. When I asked why it was that price, she said that because I had gotten Lasik before, this would be considered a "second opinion". While we cannot review the LASIK surgery process or results, the De La Russo office did Not provide my daughter with the opportunity to a cinsultation; she is Deaf, and De La Russo's offices told us they don't offer interpreters! De La Russo just told us by email that because LASIK consultation is free, they are not required to be compliant with ADA laws. My daughter is deaf and needs LASIK. She emailed asking for an appointment and requesting an interpreter ( equal rights for communication); the response was that they don't provide interpreters. It is a shame how offices in the health line are so inconsiderate of those with communication disabilities. read more

For 1st 3 days couldn't even open my eyes, on 4/7/17 this Friday it will be a full month. I was told right eye is just about almost healed. But its still no way close to what I could see with my glasses before sugary. I have a CDL driving job which I not been able to do since 3/10/17. I feel like I been robbed... I like my milestones and might as well write my 500th on getting better vision. Woohoo. Everyone has basically heard of Dello Russo Laser Vision, you see ads and hear about them on the radio all the time. But you know, the popularity really does match the hype. So my vision right off the bat was not that bad, I was about -1 but was tired of wearing glasses, so I went ahead and did LASIK. I have had friends go to Dello Russo before and they were completely pleased with their experience. So from start to finish, everything was pretty bang bang. I called on a Tuesday, went in for a consultation on Thursday and then had the procedure done the following Tuesday, but I could have had it done the Thursday of the consultation! The staff was very friendly and the equipment they use is state of the art. I have had my eyes checked many times before and this was the first time I have seen an adjusting table so you don't have to lower your head to put your chin on the machine. There is also another machine that takes rapid fire pictures of your eyes so they could better examine the cornea. After testing, it was determined that my eyes were healthy enough to do the procedure. For the procedure, it is super quick, the entire process took less than 7 minutes! They add a topical anesthesia to your eyes, they wait a few mins, add some more, then a machine kinda sits on your eyeball for a few seconds and does it's thing. It doesn't hurt at all but the machine is actually using a laser to create a flap. As crazy as it sounds, it's kinda odd but you can smell the burning eyeball. lol After the flap is created, the table you are lying on is swung onto another machine where the doctor kinda guides you where to look. At this point, you will see a green laser beam shooting into you eyeball which you are supposed to look right into. The doctor then adds temporary protective contacts that you use for the next 30 mins. After this, you are escorted into a dark room where you sit for the next 30 mins with your eyes closed. After the 30 mins, a doctor takes you to the office, removes the contacts and then examines the eye to see if everything is OK. After this, you are free to leave where it is advised that someone picks you up. Afterwards, there will be tears and a burning sensation to the eyes but that is normal, the burning only last the first day. Everything afterwards is just 9 days of the anti-inflammatory and the antibiotics, also, constant moisturizing eye drops for the duration of the healing process. There is also fish oil that is recommended for the healing. Redness around the whites of your eyeball is normal. The recovery varies from person to person, people with a stronger prescription will see results much faster. Full healing process could take a couple of weeks to months. Right now I have general slight blurriness, nighttime glare and up close blurriness but I expect those to heal with time since I have only had the procedure completed three weeks ago. Overall, I am very happy with the procedure and I am very pleased with my decision to come to Dello Russo. The staff is very professional. They completely ignore email and other contact attempts (though have no issue responding almost immediately when I email the same address from my same address with the subject of 'consult inquiry' rather than something post-op-related). They also refuse to join the NYS Online Vision Registry, despite it being free for them and saving customers time, money, and hassle when doing DMV-related things. read more

I would recommend this place to anyone. It has been more than a month since i had my Lasik done and my vision is now 20/20. Update: July 13, 2011 I went back for a check up and I now have better than 20/20 and I have no regrets doing this. Best decision in my life. A common side effect of Lasik is dry eyes but oddly enough, I never had that problem. When I went back in for my first month check up after my procedure, the doctor actually said I healed up faster than others he had encountered.
