Left a pair of pants with him 3 weeks ago. They were ready a week later, and every time I went there was closed. I called for a week, no answer. After a week, a sign was put on door on vacation till April 14, today. I got there at 9:15, and waited till he showed up at 10:15. Store said 9:30. I asked him why he didn't tell me he was going on vacation. Pointed to sign that was put up after he was gone a week. I moved Receipt so many times driving there that now I can't find it. I'm sure he has record of, but says he will not give me altered pants without receipt. Charged $25 for alteration, spent _25 on pants, He will not give me my pants. How could he not have record of. Thought he was good guy, he's an ASSHOLE. read more

The BAD reviews listed here are all valid! If you value your time and resources, AVOID this place at all cost! The owner Andrew is a full time CON ARTIST. His nasty demeanor is a perfect clone of Seinfeld's "soup Nazi" Beware of the "I'm-a-poor little-struggling-immigrant" routine. He specializes in pontificating about his professionalism - instead of actually doing work. Among his "professionalism" is the fact that he keeps no set hours, making customers waste their time chasing him down. All the customers want done is reasonable work at a reasonable price - not a boat load of the owner's personal issues/resentments. read more

I'm so happy with my wedding dress alterations! He suggested more alterations than I'd even thought of but he was right! I spent $130 on a dress online and paid a little more for his alterations, which I thought were totally in line with my expectations. I highly recommend him!! It is difficult to believe some of these reviews. I, my husband and one of my best friends have been going to Delmar Custom Tailor for decades and consider Andrew a caring, hard-working pro who can tailor anything. My husband even makes an extra one of his special fruitcakes (more cake, less fruit) for Andrew every Christmas! Examples of things he's done for us: besides countless shortenings, lengthenings, tuck-here and dart-there, I had lost some weight and had some very nice clothes now too large. I waited two years, then decided it was safe to have them made smaller. We're talking 10 articles of clothing, expensive, some unique to a lovely small designer on the Cape; pants, vests, jackets, blouses. Andrew took them all in (perhaps two sizes or more) and they all still look great (this was ten years back). More recently, he custom-made a fixture to hang a small and very lovely middle-Eastern carpet that I'd bought my husband as a gift, as a tapestry--it hangs perfectly. He also reconstructed a children's stuffed toy and blanket that were in tatters, because they are very dear to a certain family member whose age will not be revealed. I suspect Andrew expects to be treated with the respect he well deserves. He's made a successful business single-handedly and raised a large family; one daughter just finished medical school with others doing very well also. He's a lovely person who knows his profession and takes care of people who appreciate his skills. read more

For has a few years was satisfied with their work, thought the owner Andrew was very professional and punctual on delivery. However, my last experience with him was disastrous. Dropped off a coat that needed mending on a pocket; told me was going to be ready in a week. After a week told me was thinking on how to do the job and to come back in a week. Following week, the same story. Too busy ? Not interested on a maybe small job ? Know of some other similar instances which eventually will impact his business. Trend to becoming un-responsible, unprofessional. Need to go to another taylor. read more

First, I don't even want to give this guy a whole star. If it wasn't up to me it would be a half. I dropped my blouse off a month ago. When I was there he was with another customer. Stop talking to them. Ask me what did I need. I told him, he handed me a slip and said write your name and phone number down. This is my first time going there for a dry clean. He handed me the paper and said You're all set. I called today and I asked. Do I just come back in or do you call me when my blouse is ready? He said ma'am look on your receipt. It says pick up date. I looked at my receipt there is know where's on there It says pick up date. It just says date. I told him this. He repeated himself loudly rudely. I explained again and as I'm talking to him he's over talking me. I could not get a word in edgewise and then he says hold on hold on hold on and that at this point I hung up because I'm not going to be speak to like that. So I go there he says. Did you just call? I said yes. He was very unprofessional on the phone and when I went there. I could not get a word in. when I was there. I told him that I was done with him telling me to hold on and him over talking me and not explaining to him why I did not know. Then I told him just to get my damn blouse. He said wow! I'm very shocked and I said I'm shocked with how unprofessional you are. On the receipt it says $9. I handed him a 20. He hands me a $5 back. I asked him how much was it? Because the receipt says $9. Oh I'm giving you change. He took the $5 back and gave me my $11. So obviously he doesn't have a set price. He was trying to scam me on how much it cost. My mom lives in Albany and when I needed to get my wedding dress tailored she swore by her tailor. Andrew was fantastic! seemed to really care about what i was asking him to do and made suggestions on the fit. He had it ready for pickup when he said and it turned out perfect. Recommend! read more

Absolutely unprofessional owner/operator. I called to let him know that I had found my receipt from some months ago and inquired if my items were still there. I suggested​ that I should have been called in view of the length of time my items were there. The owner ranted and raved that it was unprofessional of "me" not to call him. Firstly, "I am the customer" he is the professional. It's his job to call if he wants to get paid for work done. He never let me give him my ticket number, nor asked my name. He continued to yell and lambast me on the phone never answering my question about whether my items were still there. I had no choice but to hang up the phone. He was a complete unprofessional lunatic on the. Moments later a friend of mine texted me to say they had "lost" her coat and he was on the phone the whole time. This is a bit long, because I want to give the full picture. You be the judge: On Thursday, I came in with a pant-suit. He agreed to take up the hem up on the pant, to shorten the sleeves from the armhole, and to move the front buttons out to give me some breathing room. My mom and I (a long-time patron) thanked him profusely for doing this in three business days and said we'd be back on Monday. On Monday, I arrived at 9.45AM only to find the store closed (his posted hours are 9.30AM-7PM). To be fair, there was a snowstorm, but no message was left on his answering machine, nor did he notify me by phone despite the fact that he knew I was flying out the following day. I left a voice-message, reminding him of my flight, and asking him when I pick up my suit. No call back. The next morning, I left a second message. No call back. Three hours later, I called again. He picks up the phone and doesn't apologize for not calling me back. I come in. The pant legs are two different lengths--he claims because one of my shoulders is higher than the other. Ok, but, why didn't he mark them the first time? He re-measured and agreed to re-hem. The jacket shoulders were standing above my shoulder, puckering, and the sleeve was too tight on my upper arm. He recognized this and agreed to fix it. He said that he would do it right away because he had to leave at 2.30 (his posted hours, again, are until 7PM). Because of this, I had to come in again, as soon as he called. I return, an hour later after he called and I immediately apologized that I've forgotten my checkbook at home. I told him that I'd left the house quickly b/c I knew he had to leave and just forgot it, "I'm really sorry," I said. He said, "I need my money." I try on the jacket. It's puckering at the shoulder and pulling worse on the arm than it did before. I show him and calmly say that I don't think it is flattering. He launches into convoluted explanations of why it's not his fault, trying on other people's jackets from the rack, to show me how mistaken I am. I tell him that I understand that he didn't adjust the shoulder, but that since he shortened the sleeve it lays very badly and can he fix it, please? He refused to fix it. With his back to me, and in a very rude tone, complains about needing to leave, saying that there's nothing wrong with the jacket and that he doesn't like how this is going down. I told him I didn't either. I said that I can't wear it and that I'm going to have to bring it to someone else. He ignores me. Then, I ask him, "How should we handle the payment? I'm very sorry that I left my checkbook at home." I offered all the money in my wallet and to leave him my address and phone number and mail him a check (mind you, my Mom has been going to him for over 15 years). His response, "I need my money." I offered to go home to get my checkbook. His response, "Why did you leave the house without your checkbook? I NEED MY MONEY!" At this point, I was very upset--I felt ripped off and hung out to dry with a jacket that I can't wear. I asked him if he intended to charge me the full amount. "Yes," he said, in aggressive disbelief. I went to a local ATM and came back to pay him. He was praying and completely ignored me for 3 full minutes. I paid him, he gave me change. And then he denied ever getting my two messages. In short, this business is not accountable to its clients, doesn't care about customer satisfaction and apparently had no interested in keeping long-term customers. No one in my family will go to him, ever again. read more

STAY AWAY This guy is way too shady. Got my suit tailored here for a wedding I asked him should I come try it on or have my wife pick it up he said have your wife pick it up I stand by my work. Two days later in another country for a wedding I tried on the suit luckily before the wedding and to my misbelief the pants are too short and the jacket looks worse than it originally. Luckily I went to a local tailor in Ireland and got him to work on the pants. He didn't have enough time to work on the jacket. So when I returned back I bring back the suit and explain the issue he said this is a different suit and that he did not do this work, I explained what the other tailor did. He said so what do you want me to do I replied I want you to fix the suit , he was hostile abusive and down right ignorant he wanted to charge me an additional $65 on top of the $95 I initially paid. I was so mad but I just walked out as he would not listen & I didn't want to blow a fuse. I'm a local business owner and this is the most unprofessional so called owner I've ever come across. Had a great experience working with this business. My friends and I brought in our suits for a wedding to be tailored. The owner was very pleasant and took his time to make sure everything will come out perfect. He definitely lived up to his promises and made sure everything was done beautifully and in a timely fashion. I will for sure be coming back to this place. read more

I was treated kindly here and the tailoring was excellent--had slacks shortened. The tailor talked me out of having more adjustments made because it would be overly expensive. I appreciated the advice and gave the pants to my sister! I thought the price was in keeping with other prices in the area: $18 for shortening lined pants. read more
