If you go to Dr Eberhart, watch your wallet and get get a second opinion for any major work. She charged me over $35000 paid in advance for assisting in the placement of a crown on an implant which failed. When I asked for at least a partial refund, she refused. read more

Years later my mom still suffering from the horrible experience she had with Eberhart. My mom had a set of dentures made by a now retired Japanese dentist, Eberhart asked to see them and then proceeded to sand and grind down the dentures to where they no longer comfortably fit my mom's mouth without even asking for her consent to do so. My mom now gets daily cankersores from it rubbing against her tongue and this was her only set. Also whatever repairs eberhart did were low quality and the teeth she added fell off. She went on to say out of nowhere "I'm not Jewish! I'm not Jewish!" when my mom never even asked? Overall strange and horrific experience and I carry guilt knowing I introduced my mom to such a dentist that would further traumatize her. I can't recommend this place and I'd actively warn against coming here. Clearly I'm not happy!! Also the entire dental office is kind of gross and grimey. read more

Dr Dee and her staff are very professional, competent, and caring about my dental health and general well-being. I was always terrified of dentists and did not get over my anxiety until I was referred to Dr Dee after surgery for a jaw cyst at Stanford Hospital. I was not very conscientious about taking care of my teeth prior to my surgery but have done better until a rather unfortunate accident involving my front teeth and lips. After my last dentist ghosted me, I was down on my luck, wandering through life searching for meaning. I knew I needed to get my teeth cleaned, but after switching jobs and getting new insurance, I felt like my life was lacking direction. I did what any person would do in this scenario - I went to Google. After googling dentists and cross referencing with my insurance's database, I landed on Dr. Eberhart. It's a small operation, but in a good way, and it has a very homie feel. The hygienist's ex-boyfriend had more in common with me then was believable, so at first I'm thinking their yanking my chain with how relatable they seem (we talked about my background and she said she was very familiar with my whole life story because she dated a guy who had similar origins). No chains being yanked here, just good old-fashion nice people. Because I hadn't been to the dentist in a year (they ghosted me when I tried to do my 6 month follow up), Dr. Eberhart had her work cut out for her. She went to battle on the plaque in my mouth, and while there were a few major moments, she was ultimately victorious. Overall, very good experience, and she definitely went above and beyond in not only the cleaning, but the advice and conversation. Very happy with my new dentist, and very happy that life has a way of surprising me when I'm at my lowest. I thought it was over when my last dentist ghosted me, but it turned out to be the start of something new. I had a tooth that was bothering me and I went to eberhart...she told me I needed to have a root canal done (fine) I figured I would because of the amount of pain I was in. She referred me to a specialist.... So I went to the specialist with the referral paper in hand where eberhart had written down what tooth was to be done(I was in such pain I didn't even look at it)... my procedure starts and I ask the specialist why she's doing a different tooth? I'm told eberhart circled the wrong tooth!!! I mean what the hell???? When I called eberhart she blew me off and said "well you needed work on that tooth anyway.Your mouth looks like that of a meth head!!! " Excuse me??????? I have bad teeth, I'm a recovering anorexic and also have dental phobia... BUT who are you to judge me and accuse me of doing drugs??? Seriously!!! Shady shady dentist, I wouldn't even recommend her. to my worst enemy . I'd rather travel 30 mins and pay more out of pocket than go to her! Dr. Dee is the best dentist the whole bay area. I have visited her since 1996 and she is far more professional than any dentists in the Bay Area/Peninsula. Best cleaning and 'teeth saving' attitude compared to other rip and replace dentists who only care about insurance payments. The other reviews about issues with insurance etc are completely opposite of my and my family's experience every year since 1996 including about 10 insurance company changes. I'm sure I'm not unique in that I hate going to the dentist. but on top of hating going to the dentist, I have no dental insurance (and have to pay the bills on a grad student budget) which means I'm doubly reluctant to go. I just went here for a cleaning/checkup (no drilling), but thought they did a really excellent, thorough job. they also offer a great (20%) discount to Stanford students. my bill was almost half what I paid at another denist in Palo Alto (where I did not have such a good experience . . . ) I will definitely come back here the next time I need a check-up. read more

I went to Dr. Eberhart after not being to a dentist in a looonnnggggg time. It had been the first time I had insurance in probably 5 years. So, after reading these great reviews on her office I was confident in trusting her. She did a great job! I was happy until I got the bill! Her technician told me since I hadnt had a cleaning in a long time they would have to break the session into two. I had no problem coming back. However, my insurance only covers one cleaning per 6 months, so I had to pay over $100 on the spot that day and no one even told me that my insurance might not pay for the second cleaning. Then a month later I had a cavity and I had it fixed and they used the white filler that matching your teeth instead of the ugly silver. However, again my insurance didnt cover it and I have do pay $150. I even told the receptions what happened in my previous visit and they still went a head and did what they wanted before checking with me. I had no idea it was not standard to use this new filler. The asian receptionist just ignored me when I told her my situation. She told me it was my responsiblity to know my plan. It would still be nice to be told if it might be more that what the insurance is willing to pay. Dr. Eberhart is a great dentist but if you are worried about your expenses I would advise to check what your insurance pays and what they are actually doing to you before you go ahead with the services. read more

I went to Dr. Dee for dental care for six or seven years, then moved to SoCal for seven years. I just moved back, and was delighted to find that she's still the same sweet, geekily charming dentist as before. I remain amazed that she does all of the tooth cleaning herself, meaning that she's really got an idea about what's going on my mouth after 15 minutes of poking around. All of the other dentists I've seen have technicians do this for them, and kind of step in for a quick look around at the last moment. She definitely knows what she's doing -- she just filled a cavity for me (my fourth in 40+ years), and was so careful that I didn't even feel the needle go in for the anesthesia. On my last cavity (10+ years ago), she provided plenty of nitrous; this time it didn't seem necessary. There's no upselling for teeth whitening or other crap going on here, but she does seem to keep up with the high-tech gear -- she's got ultrasonic descalers, panoramic X-Ray machines, and digital X-Rays. The price still seems quite reasonable, and in-line with what I paid in SoCal. The office doesn't always run with military precision (although appointments have always started pretty much on time), but the staff (and of course Dr. Dee) are very pleasant and friendly. I've never had a bad experience there. I can (and have!) recommend her unreservedly. read more

It is hard for me to say I am a "fan" of going to ANY dentist, but I'm a very happy customer at Dr. Eberhart's office. Here are some highlights: 1) When I hadn't seen a dentist in over 5 years they were willing to give me some sort of price estimate over the phone- other offices wouldn't. 2) They always talk to me about cost of care - what must happen immediately and what can wait. I'm a grad student paying out of pocket, so this is super necessary. 3) Anne, the receptionist, sends me an e-mail with appointment availabilities when it is time for me to come in. 4) The hygienists (Linda and Maria) are friendly, knowledgeable, and communicate clearly with me. They explain everything to me, but always in a considerate and respectful way. They are very accommodating of my requests and concerns. 5) They have up-to-date technology, but it doesn't feel like bells and whistles. I've had some terrible (traumatizing!) experiences in the past, but this office has helped my anxiety decrease about my teeth. read more
