    Mr. Delphine crepe

What a wonderful, hidden gem in Beverly MA! The food is so authentically French. Their pastries and crepes are simply delicious. Ambiance and service is friendly and welcoming. Best of all, they are very reasonably priced for the home-style, quality comfort food. Highly recommend checking this place out.

Smells so good here! Plenty of savory and sweet crepes selection. Did I mention desserts? I went with Mr Delphine and since I am not a fan of goat cheese, staff was able to replace with swiss. Pretty presentation of crepe! I had rubbery crepes before but this was perfect! Thin and airy, not overly salty. Strong latte with a shot of espresso. Most places usually water down the latte with a lot of milk/foam. The raspberry tart was a bit sweet for my liking.

Were in Beverly for a wedding and Delphine's had been recommended by the bridal couple. So glad we took their advice. Had the Harvest Bowl and hubby had a savory crepe (with ham I think). He also had a cup of carrot soup which he did share. Everything was delicious. And came out quickly. Cozy seating inside and everyone is so friendly. We had to get dessert so we got the French Press and the apple compote crepe which they split for us. Yummy. Had to go for a walk after since we were so full!

AMAZING!!! So many yummy desserts and the tea was perfect. Delphine and Megan were so sweet as well and were happy to answer any questions we had. 10/10 recommend!

This place is amazing. Must go! We stopped in for some pre-dinner snacks, and were so delighted! We split a curry chicken sandwich which came on a delightful fresh baguette, and an assortment of cookies. The jam thumb print cookie and the chocolate chip cookie were amongst the best I've ever had. Perhaps best of all is the service- the owner is absolutely wonderful, and we felt welcome through and through. 6 stars!

Right downtown in the heart of Cabot St, this small cafe holds a sweet atmosphere with a surprising amount of seating. The staff is lovely and the waitress that I interacted with was a joy. I ordered a Strawberry French Fruit Sirup, one of their crepes, and one of their choux pastries. The food was very tasty and the drink was unique and tasted similar to a melted popsicle, so pretty good! I was sad to see that they don't offer my favorite tea lattes, but that won't stop me from returning for other things on their menu

Our neighbor John Sacco was playing tonight, so my husband and I decided to head downtown and check it out. We could not be happier that we did! It was truly one of the most pleasant dining experiences we've had in years! Everyone we spoke to was super nice. We got excellent recommendations, and the food was AMAZING!!! We both tried the special savory crepe, and I'm already dreaming of my next one. Give Delphine's a try. You won't be disappointed!

This place just opened up and I was curious, so my daughter and I stopped by today to give it a try. The decor and overall setup was adorable and welcoming and I loved the little bistro tables inside and out and the staff was super friendly. We ordered the roasted tomato, goat cheese and arugula crepe and a strawberry and chocolate crepe for my daughter and both were delicious with fresh ingredients. The pastries on display looked delicious and while I didn't try any today, I hope to do so soon. They also have a rewards program through checkout which I'm always a fan of. I'd highly recommend a stop here if you're in downtown Beverly. It's a great addition to the city's already vibrant restaurant scene!

We looked online for local restaurants to dine at during our stay. Neither my girlfriend or I have ever gone to a French restaurant, so we decided on The Metro Bistrot, due to all the fantastic reviews. I called and spoke with Jay (chef and owner) a week prior to make the reservation. We took an Uber from the hotel, as it's BYOB and brought a couple of bottles of wine. This was a Saturday before a big snow storm the following day. I think due to this, the restaurant wasn't as busy as usual. We ended up being seated in the back room all to ourselves. It was a very nice room that had about 4 tables. Stephanie, our server was an absolute delight! Turns out she works for the hotel as well and she's the one I spoke with when we booked the room. She opened our Beaujolais for us and brought some wine glasses. She kept the bottle chilled in the fridge for us. She went over some of the specials being prepared that night and was able to make some nice recommendations. My girlfriend ended up with the special seafood soup special with a lobster stock as a base. I ordered the escargot. Both were absolutely fantastic. She kept our bread basket filled with wonderful fresh warm bread to soak up all the goodness of the soup and escargot. My girlfriend ordered the boar shank and I ordered the stuffed quail that was stuffed with foie gras and pate. The boar meat fell right of the bone and was some of the most tender meat we've ever had. Both dishes were phenomenal. Jay stopped by our table to chat. He's super nice and even took some photos with us. We ordered 3 different kinds of cheeses prior to ordering dessert. All three we ordered were great! Stephanie also brought us a bowl of crackers to go with the cheese. For dessert, my girl had the cheesecake with an oatmeal crust and fresh berries. I'm not usually one for sweets, unless it Crème Brûlée, so I opted for the Boursin stuffed Shrimp, forgetting it wasn't an appetizer, but a main entree. It was out of this world! All the fish Jay brings in are always fresh and NEVER frozen. He even poured me a small glass of some white wine and it went so well with the shrimp. We cannot wait to go back. The prices are very reasonable and the service and food is second to none. Cheers!

I've also never had anyone tell us they do not like the restaurant once they try our recommendation. It's a small, cozy, dimly lit restaurant located at a corner near MGH. Street parking may be tough but there are garages around. The hospital garage may be a bit pricey; I believe the restaurant can validate for another garage nearby. Our must order items from the menu include seared foie gras (5/5), duck magret a l'Orange (5/5), escargot (5/5), french onion soup (5/5, and steak tartare (4/5). I love using their bread to dip with the escargot and eat with the foie gras as they do not come with carbs. During my last visit, I tried the boneless short ribs Bourguignon, I felt like it was a bit dry. I loved the potato croquette that came with the dish though, creamy on the inside with a crispy exterior. The meat did not fall off and melt, maybe it was just that one day. I will stick to ordering duck as my entree as it has never failed us and the cook and flavors are also supreme. Creme brulee is always great to end the meal! I got inspired by watching youtube to make a jambon buerre sandwich - supposedly a popular quick sandwich for Parisians. The sandwich is half a baguette with butter and French bistro ham. I tried searching all over for the French bistro ham with no luck. The only options were online sources with expensive shipping and/or expensive minimum order sizes. Somehow I stumbled upon MA-France nearby in Arlington and they sell jambon-buerre sandwiches. It's a small shop that sells sandwiches, pastries, and a small offering of French food products. Lots of pastries and baked goods like quiche, tarts, cookies, croissants, etc. The cheese offerings were very limited and basic. I can imagine that the cheeses that they sell are the same types and brands that they use for making sandwiches. For example, they sell President brand Brie - that you can also buy at Costco and market basket. Disappointing, but understandable because they can't afford to buy more variety and more expensive offerings without a big enough client base to buy those cheeses before they go bad. Getting back to the sandwich - it was half a baguette with some thick slices of butter and two pieces of French bistro ham. The bread was kind of dense and the crust was more chewy than crispy. I was disappointed that they didn't bother to spread the butter, but if they're not selling enough sandwiches then they're probably keeping the butter in the refrigerator - making it too difficult to spread. When I got home I fixed up the sandwich to my liking. Overall, the sandwich was okay, but not good enough to make me want to go back. At least I was able to solve my hunger for the jambon buerre sandwich.
