The best crepes I think I've ever had in my life!!! Seriously, Delphine's Kitchen is delicious. As an indecisive person, I love their special where you can get a drink, a crepe, and a dessert - really the best of all worlds and a good deal as well. Both times I've been I've gotten the same order (it was too good not to repeat) - a Bellini, the Mr. Delphine crepe, and the Alsacienne tart. The Bellini is always sweet and refreshing, and the crepe has the perfect blend of fresh flavors. The alsacienne tart is always baked to perfection and absolutely delectable. The cafe is small so seating can sometimes be limited - I'd recommend getting there early since it does tend to fill up around typical brunch times. Service has also always been very good - you order at a counter and then the food is brought out to you. The owner Delphine is almost always there and greeting customers with a smile. Delphine's Kitchen is definitely my current favorite breakfast spot, and I'll be back soon for sure! read more

This is my FAVORITE spot in Beverly!!! It's been recognized by BONS but still underrated. Incredible french fair with friendly flair. The interior is cozy and small, they're involved with the local community, and they spin great records! I love all the staff and appreciate the option to order at the counter, sit and people watch, and self-bus. This is my go to second date spot and I take all my friends here. Their pastries are to die for, with GF and vegan options, however not necessarily promised celiac safe. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Takeout options including drinks, sandwiches and sweets are fantastic- my favorite being the brie, sun dried and basil oil. The quality of ingredients here is off the charts, and the crepes are all amazing, sweet or savory. Options rotate seasonally and they have themed nights and I've enjoyed specials like a free charcuterie plate with wine purchase. The cheese was amazing and I love a peach bellini here. One of my favorite orders is the Crepe Ann (love the name and they WONT skimp on the herbed lobster.) I also get a caesar salad every time I go here and I'm not even a salad girl! I really wanted to give this place four stars--honestly, the food deserves it. The savory crepe was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully presented. Service was friendly and polite and the place was super clean. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they're putting out. But here's the catch: when placing a take out order, I was hit with an extra 3.50%"sustainable packaging fee." I get it--we all want to save the planet. I recycle. I bring my own bags. But when restaurants start tacking on random charges to pass off basic operations as virtue-signaling "green" initiatives, it starts to feel more like a cash grab than a commitment to sustainability. To be clear, I'm all for eco-friendly packaging. But charge a fair price *upfront* or build it into the menu--don't surprise me at checkout with a fee (that I could opt out but was was never told I could) I didn't agree to. In short: excellent food, great vibes, but please stop nickel-and-diming customers under the guise of environmental responsibility. **Would I come back?** Yes--for the food. But I'll make sure I tell the cashier to opt me out of all optional fees next time and dodge the packaging guilt tax. read more

Delphines is reliably the best pastry shop for miles around. The bowls, sandwiches and crepes are excellent, but the sweets cannot be rivaled. The ambience transports one to the south of France, and the fresh-made pastries transports one to heaven. Amazing. Not too sweet and packed with flavor. The execution is impeccable and the consistency is unwavering. Even the coffee is great. My only con is that their lemonade (also delicious and flavorful) is a full $6 for a smallish cup (clarification: size medium when paid with tax and tip, still seems small but is not their size small). We were treated abruptly and borderline rudely. We had children with us and noticed the staff seemed aggravated that we were letting them eachpick out a dessert. We were told in no uncertain terms that we could not be seated( we understood that reservations were needed) and tried to tell the woman that we were ordering take-out. She seemed even more aggravated after that. Mostly everything we ordered was good except I can say that the key lime bites had absolutely no lime flavor. The lemon square was excellent as was the chocolate cake. I would definitely return had we been treated with some respect but we really weren't. Were in Beverly for a wedding and Delphine's had been recommended by the bridal couple. So glad we took their advice. Had the Harvest Bowl and hubby had a savory crepe (with ham I think). He also had a cup of carrot soup which he did share. Everything was delicious. And came out quickly. Cozy seating inside and everyone is so friendly. My well anticipated first visit lived up to the high expectations I had. Everything we ordered for lunch we ate at our cozy table by the window was made perfectly. All ingredients were delish and fresh. After really wanting to have dessert for lunch, and having trouble deciding what to choose, we decided to share a couple of things. We felt we must choose a crepe since that is a specialty. Not being a huge ham fan, we chose the Roasted Tomato crepe with arugula and basil and whipped cheese. It was really a treat. The mix of the tastes somehow blended so it was difficult to choose any flavor alone except for the tomatoes. It really was wonderful and quite a treat. We asked what was being kept warm in what looked like a pizza oven. We were told it held quiche Lorraine, one last cheddar scone and a third item I don't like because if I did I'd remember it. We chose the quiche Lorraine. It was absolutely the best I'd ever had. It is quite thin and the taste is immense. I would definitely again order both the quiche and the crepe. We both really liked the way things liked in the case of foods ready for grab and go. So I decided to bring some home for the family. And then take a bit of everyone's so I could include my thoughts here. The second bit was just for me! Hubby got the Ham, butter and greens sandwich. As I said earlier, I don't care for ham and am a big fan of bacon. Somehow this ham sandwich is different. The ham is extremely thinly sliced and not too salty. It was balance with a fresh roll and butter and as a whole resembles a "sub" but only in appearance. It actually tastes a bit dainty to me. Really good. Hubby cut it into 3 pieces and ate for lunch. It is a big sandwich for $12! Again, very good and extremely fresh. Everything else I brought home were desserts. Multiples slices of carrot cake and small fruit tarts. The carrot cake was very cook with a classic cream cheese frosting that is not overly sweet. It is your very classic cake done perfectly. Very satisfying and one slice will definitely be enough for two to share. The small fruit tarts were a very traditional crust, custard middle and berries. I personally like a shell with some additional nutty texture but must say that this tart is executed perfectly. Overall, this was a home run. Remember that you will find cooking done perfectly here, just as the menu describes. Everything is really beautiful to look at. Apologies for the lack of pictures. This place is amazing. Must go! We stopped in for some pre-dinner snacks, and were so delighted! We split a curry chicken sandwich which came on a delightful fresh baguette, and an assortment of cookies. The jam thumb print cookie and the chocolate chip cookie were amongst the best I've ever had. Right downtown in the heart of Cabot St, this small cafe holds a sweet atmosphere with a surprising amount of seating. The staff is lovely and the waitress that I interacted with was a joy. I ordered a Strawberry French Fruit Sirup, one of their crepes, and one of their choux pastries. The food was very tasty and the drink was unique and tasted similar to a melted popsicle, so pretty good! Definitely one of the brightest lights in the downtown Beverly dining scene. Not only is the food fresh, authentic and delicious, but Delphine and Co. take great pains to be as eco-friendly as possible, using compostable and reusable tableware. I look forward to summer when the Crêpe Ann is available again (lobster with Swiss). This place just opened up and I was curious, so my daughter and I stopped by today to give it a try. The decor and overall setup was adorable and welcoming and I loved the little bistro tables inside and out and the staff was super friendly. We ordered the roasted tomato, goat cheese and arugula crepe and a strawberry and chocolate crepe for my daughter and both were delicious with fresh ingredients. The pastries on display looked delicious and while I didn't try any today, I hope to do so soon. They also have a rewards program through checkout which I'm always a fan of. Every plate was delicious and well portioned. Food was cooked to absolute perfection. There is nothing like this in downtown Beverly and we so appreciated the variety in food and experience. We loved the slower paced service and appreciate that we were not rushed through our meal. The room was quiet and intimate. Lovely choice for a date with your significant other. Lastly, my husband is gluten free and they were able to accommodate him for all 5 courses!! Sometimes he can barely find one dish on a menu that works for him- so this was definitely a stand out. I took my daughter here for lunch. While she was explaining to the server that she had food allergies, the owner overheard and interjected that she could not guarantee there would be no cross-contamination. My daughter explained that her allergies aren't that severe, and are fine as long as they aren't in the ingredients, but the owner clearly did not want to serve us. She then looked at my daughter, who was wearing a halter top (it was 95 degrees and 70% humidity) and said that women must be wearing blouses to eat in her restaurant and that we would have to leave, in the rudest manner possible. I was shocked that any business owner on the North Shore today would be so non-accommodating, sexist, and illiberal. We went across the street to Atomic Cafe, where they welcome everyone. Clearly don't go here if you have food allergies, are dressed in anything less than formal wear, or look too liberal to the owner. Unbelievably rude. read more

We stumbled upon this gem and it was so good we ate there for dinner and for breakfast the next day. The owners (Delphine & Rob) and staff (Gina) were so kind, welcoming, and the food was most excellent. Friday night they had vinyl spinning and even changed the music selection to suit our vibe after telling them we were in town to see a show. What a cute little place. It was a Friday evening, the sun was out, and I heard music floating through the air. As I approached Delphines I realized that it was coming from there. They had a couple of tables sitting out front. I've never been inside and it was dinner time so I figured hey what the heck. I stepped inside and was thrilled with what I saw! there was a gentleman up front, creating crepes, right there in front of me! There was a beautiful bakery display case full of yummy items as well as four different types of ice tea. A great menu, even for those that may not care for crêpes. As a matter of fact, I wound up getting a wonderful harvest salad with grilled chicken. it was delivered to me outside. I sat outside, reading my book, eating my salad and listening to the wonderful acoustic guitar player from inside. It was a wonderful experience and one that I was thoroughly enjoying. Amazing selection of food! I loved their menu - so much to pick from. I ended up trying their buckwheat bowl. Adored the huge (and I mean huge!) ball of fresh mozzarella cheese. Yum! I liked the veggies and the consistency of the buckwheat grain together quite a bit. I'd order again for sure on this item. We also tried their special frittata of the day. This one was made with goat cheese. I'm not a fan of goat cheese except in egg dishes. I've had it in omelettes and quiches before and it works really nicely and the frittata was no exception.
