I've been renting a P.O. Box at this post office for about two years, and so far it's been a positive experience. I decided to get a P.O. Box because my nearby condo has gone through so many different mail carriers over the years. Like many of my neighbors, I've had ongoing issues with delayed mail, and I've even had birthday cards stolen and that's if it even showed up at all. Having a P.O. Box has given me peace of mind knowing my mail is safe and will arrive on time. I signed up for Informed Delivery, so I usually know what's supposed to be in my box before I stop by. On a few occasions something was missing, but after waiting in line and asking a postal clerk to check, my letter or package was found. One of my favorite things about having a P.O. Box here is the seven day access, and that includes holidays. Even when the retail counter is closed, I can stop by whenever it's convenient to pick up my mail and packages. I'm happy with the service and glad I made the decision to have my mail delivered here. The smallest box to rent is 3"×5.5" and this is the perfect size for me. At $242 a year, it's well worth the peace of mind of knowing my mail is safe, and that I'll receive it without any worries. read more

I am a dork who is fond of post offices and libraries and civic spaces. I'd never been to this location before but it was close by. I used the long hightop marble tables to wrap my presents. Yes, I brought my tape, wrapping paper, gifts and just did it there. Very peaceful in the lobby area with full windows behind me and rows of post office boxes in front of me. I enjoyed hearing the sounds of busy people laughing and chatting and making noise behind the walls in the mailroom , muffled but not silent. This lobby area I believe is open 24/7. Then I grabbed the right priority mail box - which I realize now costs how much you can shove in to it and not by weight- and headed inside to the reception desks, where I waited for the 1 person in front of me to finish before I was served, by a very kind and patient person (thank you!). She taped up my box and I was in and out quickly. read more

Waited on the long line out the door and was able to get a very attractive holiday bubble wrap gift mailer. They gave me the right postage and the numbers to track this gift. The post office has an extensive display of packaging and cards. But at 2 o'clock they were crowds of people that had tremendous mailings to sit down. read more

This post office is filthy inside and outside. I've never seen anything like this. It's absolutely disgusting!!! Mold outside on the building and sidewalks. Litter everywhere. Not bad today. I was out pretty fast. Mailed two packages, bought stamps, mailed postcards and letters that all needed special stamp amounts. This place is always full but I got out in 10 minutes. The maximum people inside is 10 and they do request 6 feet distance. Use the self service machines when possible. They have one outside the lobby and one inside. read more

I had to come down here to see a doctor, so I thought Id mail my letters while I was here. I went to the post office on Military and there was a short line. One of my letters wasnt sticking so all I needed was a piece of tape. The people in line were very nice about letting me cut in front to ask for tape. They are clearly doing "stop the clock" scans. (Look it up) If your package says delivered, but wasn't. It's most likely due to stop the clock scans. Received mail today from USPS but when I looked for my package it wasn't there. They are claiming "animal interference". But if it was animal interference, how was my other paper mail delivered ? (I have ZERO animals) I can't stand the lies. Just be honest and say you were too f*cking lazy. It rained this morning. Guarantee the idoit who dropped my paper mail off, didn't wanna get out of the vehicle to bring the package to the door. You need to hold your employees to higher standards. Wow, what a nice surprise! All the stuff were so friendly. They helped me get the envelope size that I needed, took their time and very polite. Must be nice to get a pay check and have "NO RESPONSIBILITY" for it. Any mail marked as "Arrived at DELRAY BEACH, FL 33484" the postmaster at that station should be held responsible for it. If he can't get his employees to do their job, maybe he is not qualified as a post master. Last year several times and this year once again already my mail fell into his "BLACK HOLE". 9400109699937307642053 been sitting somewhere inside his domain since feb 21st 2019. This place is so busy! Please avoid this post office at all costs. No lie, I was in line with over 25 people in front of me. This seems to be the post office of choice for the extremely slow moving, older crowd. I don't have a problem waiting. I have a problem being in line for more than 30 minutes to send a package. I try not to ding post offices too hard b/c they do have to go to through difficult customers and handle all kinds of people, but yikes, this is probs one of the worst post offices I've been to around the US! I come to this one b/c it is next to all my shopping, so it's "easy" for the errands route I am on, but each time I've gone, I've always left either angry b/c I couldn't mail my thing in the end, or wait, I've never been able to mail anything outta here! 1. The staff are impressively rude. If you're returning something from Amazon, make sure you bring your own tape here. I usually don't tape my labels ahead of time b/c most post offices have some specific way they want it done and i usually have to remove mine and have them re-do it, so I bring my labels and give them the box and ask them where they want it, and they tell me where but then demand I go buy a 4$ roll of tape to afix my 1 piece of paper label on the front...come one, they have tape right next to them. And the way they said it, was quite rude. So I couldn't mail my package b/c they refused to tape my label for me 2. The lines were long and not moving, so I gave up b/c I had been waiting for an hour :/ 3. The staff have turned me away before for strange reasons and never bother to give me feedback on how I can better package next time, do something right the next time- see, that's what bothers me most! If you're not going to help us, it's a teaching moment so we don't waste your time next time by doing something incorrectly. I've given up going to this post office- I recommend the one on US 1 in in Delray across the street from Chik-Fil-A and Trader Joe's down Linton. We have had more mail lost and never delivered than any other place we have lived. This is especially true for checks and cards (with gift cards). We've complained in the past and all we get is buck passing and finger pointing. read more

Unfortunately the negative reviews are accurate. The staff at the counter are nice and friendly. But it ends there packages disappear here. I had two family packages scanned as arriving and placed on the truck for delivery Priority Mail. They never came they were stolen. The manager of the branch refused to even come out to talk about the internal thief . I no longer have any mail sent through this zip code. Many people have had the same problems with this office. I'm the first to bitch and complain when a post office sucks, but in my opinion this branch isn't nearly as bad as the ratings say. The lines can get long in the afternoons but they usually have 4 efficient clerks grinding it out, and you can get your transactions completed pretty fast. That's more than I can day for my branch back in NY where you basically need to apologize for being there and disturbing them. I also have to say, the staff is very personable considering they're a) postal employees that are b) working in a very drab and dirty building. So there's that. This post office is a pain to go to. No matter when I've come here, the lines are always long and there are usually only a couple of people working behind the counters. I've found that the people working here are usually relatively friendly (which is why I gave two stars instead of one) but they definitely work at shall we charitably say a "moderate pace." One pet peeve I have is that whenever I go here, there are usually no pens available. So if you're waiting in line and you didn't bring your own pen, there is no way to fill out those express mailing forms before you get to the counter (further contributing to the long waits). I have one final comment that doesn't specifically apply to this post office but does to a recent delivery from the USPS. I ordered a small camera from Amazon which was to be delivered by the USPS. Two days after the scheduled delivery date, I looked at the tracking which said the package had been delivered. However, I hadn't found it in front of my door or in my mailbox (we have a centralized mail area for each street). Being worried that the package might have been left in front of my door and someone had stolen it, I logged into my Amazon account for additional information. Once logged in, there were additional notes that said the package had been left in the "parcel locker." Well, the way the parcel locker works (which is at the same location as the mailboxes) is that the mailman puts the package in it, locks it, removes the key and then puts the key in the appropriate mailbox (which is also locked). That way the package is secure and can't be stolen. It turned out this mailman simply left the package in the parcel locker without locking it and putting the key in my mailbox. The locker with my camera was open for TWO DAYS until I figured out what had happened. It's amazing the package wasn't stolen. Anyone could have opened the parcel locker and taken it. This sort of carelessness is unforgivable. It's not even carelessness. Whoever did this, was just being lazy. Not good when you're ordering items that cost hundreds of dollars. read more

I just moved to the area. I googled local post office and this place came up. The first thing I notice was the terrible reviews one after another. Mistake #1. I go there. Upon waiting in line, the first thing I hear is a customer complaining about lost mail. Same thing I read review after review. After my transaction was complete I asked to speak to a supervisor to ask if they are aware of all the terrible reviews on YELP. I was greeted by some clown named Bryan or Ryan. I asked him if he is aware of the terrible reviews on this post office and if anything was being done to address the issues. His answer to me was I'm not going to answer your questions about reviews and if I had any other questions. I asked him for his name he refused. I asked again, that's when he reluctantly said Bryan or Ryan and refused to give me his last name or employee ID. He then got up and walked away from me. I advised him I will be back to speak to the post master and his reply to me was "I can't wait". I will make it my mission to hold this incompetent accountable. Needless to say they lost my business and do yourself a favor, take your business to UPS or Fedex. If we do not hold people accountable it will never change. Genuinely the worst post office ever and I get nervous every time I realize a package is being sent there. So many packages "delivered" and never arrived, customer service is ridiculously bad. Every time you go to ask about a lost package they say it isn't in the back and that there's nothing they can do, no refund for the packages, no way of setting a claim because you have to wait 60 days from when it was lost? Many think the manager is stealing packages and honestly I wouldn't doubt it. Even when I left the store other costumers came up to me saying how rude she was. - Her staff member had to jump in and help and told me that they did not have the up-to-date technology (which was printing out a smart label) like the other places to help me. I try to avoid using using United states postal service at all costs, especially this location. They loose packages like clock work, never follow up to find packages, their mail delivery people are always on the phone during mail distributions making mistakes non stop. Delray Beach is home to the worst post office of all time. Grumpy staff, lazy staff... you will not get your package. They don't knock on your door LIKE THEYRE SUPPOSED TO - they like to leave a slip for certified mail. I think they like the line longer in their office. Regardless,, since the postman drove all the way to my house to deliver me certified mail, I would've greatly appreciated if he/she had walked their lazy legs up my stairs to my front door to knock so that I would have had the opportunity to take it. Instead, they sent my certified mail back to sender. I could not hate this post office more. This is the third time they did not knock on my door with certified mail and sent it back. The sweetest young man helped me Tuesday evening. I was a bit confused about priority mail and where to put it. The few lingering employees that were there ignored me. It was after 5pm. It was a man with tattoos and a beard. He had on all black (black shirt and shorts) and seemed to work in the back. He was so kind - not like the people I worked with in the front in the past. He stopped what he was doing (even though he looked busy) and helped me and answered my questions. It's the small and nice interactions that matter at my age and I had to leave a review for that.
