I've been having sinus issues for the last couple years. My primary doctor highly recommended I see Dr Sigari. He has a fantastic office in Marina Del Rey. I met him and was immediately put at ease with his bedside manner. I actually thought when I went there I'd need surgery but he suggested I try some other options first and put me on Fluticasone and said to come back if that didn't work. In-network (Blue Shield), was able to get an appointment next day as a new patient, everyone in the office was friendly and easy to work with, Dr. S spent a ton of time with me and didn't rush, he fixed my ear problem in the easiest (and cheapest) way possible, and he even helped connect me with a good primary care physician when I mentioned I needed one. Did I mention it was all excellent? Oh and they helped me stash my bike since I didn't see the bike racks. As a person who spends most of her time at loud concerts and loud stadiums, I was devastated when my left ear started hurting! The pain was unreal and I could not stop crying. I quickly went to the Malibu Urgent Care (right by my house) and $700 out of my pocket (they didn't accept my insurance) and a whole lot of antibiotics later I still had so much pain in my ears! yes. now both hurt. Then I tried the UCLA Health center in Malibu and they cleaned out my ear and made it worse (which reminds me I should go write a negative review on there) I missed more than a week of school, work and my internship... FINALLY after posting on Facebook and asking for all my "friends" recommendations, I had one tell me about her experience with DR. Sigari and after reading his reviews on yelp I HAD to give him a try! You rarely find a Yelp page with more than 40 five-star reviews... I rarely ever give 5-star reviews myself BUT I would give Dr. Sigari a 1000000 stars if I could. WHY HE'S GREAT: 1. His staff are super friendly. 2. The location of his office is great!!! You have such an amazing view while waiting in the room for him. There's a parking structure right by the building and if you're not poor like me, they even have a valet at the front. 3. Around his office all you can see all his awards for "Patient's choice award" "most compassionate doctor" etc. and it all makes sense after you meet him 4. he's super nice and very educated (obviously!) BUT BUT he definitely CARES. I can't stress this enough. how many doctors have you gone to and they fixed you up (or DONT ) and never followed up to see how you're doing cause you are just another customer. Not Dr. Sigari. He communicates with you via text and phone and constantly asks how you are doing (keep in mind he's SUPER busy) but he doesn't stop contacting you until he is SURE you're 100% and even after that asks you to come back for a check up! he definitely cares and that makes me care enough to come back and write an essay about how amazing he is! My ear infection went away after a visit to this doctor and went to the music festival Air + Style THAT weekend! He's extraordinary and I can't think of ONE negative thing to write! does him not prescribing you a lot of medication count? put that down as another positive. I was really disappointed by their attitude. At the beginning they were almost chasing me to get my surgery. And after the surgery where I had pain and complications they stopped answering my phone calls. I had to call them from another number to make them take the call and they said they are busy and that they will call shortly but never did. I had to go to another doctor to get painkillers. Also the procedure didn't really help to my health problems. I have the feeling that they just want to do as many procedures as possible to make a lot of money. I was referred to Dr Sigari by my family who live here in Los Angeles. Dr Sigari had treated some of my family here and they highly recommended him for my sinus problems. I had seen several doctors in North Carolina for my sinus issues and even a Duke sinus surgeon who was highly regarded. They all just kept giving round after round of antibiotics and steroids and said I should just live with it. I want flying to visit and stay with family and thought I would give him a try. I was desperate as I get sick every year no less than 6 times with sinus infections. I was amazed that in one visit he was able to diagnose the problem (the other surgeon I guess hadn't taken the time to look at my CT scan) and offer me a procedure. Even better, he was able to perform the procedure all while I was awake in the office. The procedure took less than an hour. I had very little pain and other than some congestion. I felt back to normal the next day. And already I am feeling better. I am flying back to NC tomorrow and already have noticed a huge difference and it has only been 5 days since the procedure. I breathe better and the pressure and headaches are so much better! His staff as amazing and were always able to answer my many questions. I went a few years ago and Dr. Sigari helped me with sinus issues following a bad surgery elsewhere. I really liked him and have been on their newsletter list since then. I keep getting emails for the Clarifix procedure and have tried scheduling and checking insurance acceptance for over a month now (5+ weeks) and still no word on either. I've never had to work this hard to make an appointment. It's not just Sean in the back office who is unresponsive and unhelpful but even when I call their main line midday no one picks up or returns my call. Unfortunately it seems the good experience I had will be a one time thing since it's not worth this much effort to see an ENT. There are plenty others. read more

I was referred to this clinic to treat symptom of vertigo. This clinic did nothing but as me sit up and ask how I felt. They didn't preform any medical test or provide any treatment. The just seem interested in billing my insurance so stopped going over two years ago. I am writing this review now because they called me telling me I still owed them a $10 copay. Luckily I saved my receipts to show them that I did pay the copay on every visit. Stay away. There are better doctors that have office staff that can actually do there job and do not hunt down prior patients for $10 not owed to them. read more

Thank you Dr. Sigari for taking the extra consideration and for visiting me on an already overbooked day! I am a 52 year old "women" that has been dealing with migraines for 2 years and these migraines all seem to start in the morning (lately once a month) with pressure pain on my right side of my nose; by mid-afternoon, it develops to a full blast pain from my right side of the nose to behind the right eye, on top of the head (right side). Pain so bad I get nauseated and unable to function, closing out for the night and to battle the pain through the night until the next morning when suddenly all the pain is gone! Finally after 2 years I decided to call Dr. Sigari's office to see if he might think it was a sinus problem, well even though he was fully booked he took me in at a last minute notice at 4:45pm (most likely in between his last appointment). After diagnosing me with a smaller right side sinus cavity (which could potentially be a problem) with an X-ray scan, he decided to see if he could subside my swelling in the nose and see if that gave me some relief (he sprayed decongestant up my nose) 10 minutes later I knew I was going to live another day without that pain! Dr. Sigari then says to me, we are not going to operate you as this is not an everyday problem. After telling him that the history of my migraines seem to be 1 or 2 days before my period, Dr. Sigari believes that very possibly the hormones might be causing the swelling of my nose and consequent migraines and we that we should work on getting through my passage in life and op out on the sinus operation because these migraines might all go away on my post menopause. Today, I have a solution to fight my pain and an understanding of the cause and especially a renewed opinion of Doctors; my General physician had prescribe migraines pills (no use at all), my Ob-gy, well he told me that he was not there to fix my head problems! I came in with trouble swallowing. They did an exam and started me on some medication that solved the problem pretty quickly. Dr. Kyle was friendly and very knowledgeable. I would recommend him. On the admin side, they got my email address wrong like 3 times (and so never sent me the initial paperwork before showing up the first time). They also cancelled an appointment on me without notifying me (and not at my request...)--though they fit me in when I showed up anyways, so that's all good. Ransoming a procedure at the last minute is unethical. This doctors office refused to provide service on arrival unless paid $3,500. The procedure was pre-approved by Insurance. They were guaranteed 80% by Anthem. They did not advise us to bring funds. Our max out of pocket was $2,700 so the amount they wanted was incorrect and unjustified. Having me load massive amounts of steroid into my body for 5 days and then refusing to proceed unless I paid some made up amount of money is thug behavior. The information I was told on the call when they cancelled was wrong, the doctor is scheduled to go to a medical conference and not a wedding, that's why they cancelled. Also they called back to see if maybe they could do the procedure on Thursday instead of Friday, where as on the original call I was told only Friday is possible, no other days. I would have taken up the doctors office on the offer for Thursday appointment if I hadn't already (extremely luckily) found another ENT and scheduled a new surgery for the same as original date. In regards to the effort to help out with this unpleasant scheduling issue I changed the review to 3 stars. *Original Post* I went to Dr. Sigari from Del Rey ENT Associates after my current ENT doctor stopped taking Bluecross PPO. On my first visit everything seemed ok, except he was a bit pushy, telling me multiple times that I could(should) get my tonsils taken out(again), which is a different recommendation from most ENT docs I saw before, especially considering I told him all my prior experience and that I just needed some antibiotics as usual. They all said with my 2-3 tonsil infections per year I could get them taken out again but they don't usually recommend unless it's 5-6 times per year. I anyways wanted to get my tonsils removed again at some point (wasn't completely removed the first time, couple years back) so I came in for a second appointment to do a final evaluation and schedule the surgery. The doctor provided me with the necessary information to call insurance and hospitals to find out the cost and when this was acceptable we scheduled the surgery for early summer. At the time of scheduling the surgery I told him that I am also getting an Arthroscopy done and will schedule that the week right after and then 1 1/2 weeks after leave the country (as soon as per doc instructions patients are good to travel again after a tonsillectomy). I called in the next few days to make sure the surgery was scheduled and everything confirmed, since this was the only possible date for me and critical so I could schedule/plan/book everything else. Got a green light back that everything is booked. Here comes the problem: ~ 2 weeks after the surgery was scheduled and confirmed I am getting a call from the doctors office that they are canceling my surgery date because the doctor is going to a wedding on the day of my surgery and will be unavailable. Not only that, but they had no alternative or assistance to offer in regards to my situation. I even asked if they had another doctor they could recommend me to since this was my only possible date as I booked my early summer months completely after they confirmed the surgery date before. The answer was that the doctor doesn't recommend any other doctors ... even while on vacation. read more

At first I was afraid and skeptical about doing a sinus procedure at his office while I'm awake (but heavily numbed), however he talked me through the entire procedure and made sure that I don't have pain, nervousness, or discomfortable at every step. I've been having increased sinus issues since I moved last year, and after two rounds of antibiotics, I decided to try something new. I'd never seen a sinus specialist, and I've certainly never acted on a billboard ad, but I decided to try it. I had a great experience with Del Rey Sinus Institute and really loved Dr. Sigari. He is smart, thorough, caring, sensitive to what insurance you do or don't have, and he offers OPTIONS and a stepped treatment plan (try step one first, if that doesn't work, try step two, then three, etc.). He got me to try things I said I never would - and they worked. I wanted a CAT scan on my sinuses, so that I could visualize what was going on, and it was worth it to me. Dr. Kieu saw me for 5 minutes each visit. She looked I my ear and told me I had an ear infection which I already knew having gone to urgent care. She prescribed more antibiotics and then I saw her two weeks later and she did the same thing. I paid $60 co-pay for each visit because she was a specialist, and now I received an additional $180 bill charging me for looking in my ear!!! No special treatment or drainage just looking, which seems like the basics that should be included in the office visit. Apparently that only gets you in the door to see a doctor in a white coat. A total ripoff!! Also they try to up sell on other treatments for allergies etc. so beware. I declined but I'm sure someone will be charged for Kleenex. read more

After many failed local consultations in Florida, I decided to search for the best ENT online and came across a list of approved surgeons performing the "thermal fusion/tissue welding" technique, which is considered the least painful way of having a tonsillectomy. After careful review and phone conversations with many ENT's, I decided to fly to California all the way from Miami to meet with Dr. Sigari. I was in a car accident about 30 years ago in which my face hit the car dashboard. The ER straightened my nose but I suffered from clogged sinuses and stuffed ears for years. Several ENT doctors could find nothing wrong and prescribed antibiotics and steroids which did not help. My bothersome symptoms continued, including sleeplessness, sinus infections, ears stuffed and continuous discomfort in the sinuses. I saw Dr. Sigari's billboard on Lincoln Blvd and went in for an exam. His CT scan revealed cartilage bone from my accident lodged deep into my sinus canal. He and his assistant Ria performed an in-office 45 minutes procedure under local anesthetic to remove the cartilage bone. He also fixed my deviated septum. I felt no pain. After a week of rinsing out blood clots, my breathing is better than ever and even my ear canals have opened. Sinus work is all that Dr. Sigari does and he is obviously in a class of his own. I've had an amazing experience being properly diagnosed and treated by Dr. Sigari. After years of having morning nasal congestion, heat and allergy related sinus congestion, I have finally found relief after being treated with ClariFix Cryotherpy. At my first appointment, I had an in house CT scan by Dr Sigari that took about 5 min. Dr. Sigari performed a full exam of my ear, nose and throat. I really appreciate his expertise and honesty. He thought that the cryotherapy would be the least invasive and most appropriate treatment for my case. I had been told by another ENT that I would need to have surgery to fix my problem. I made a separate appointment for cryotherapy treatment. The procedure took about 30 min then I waited in the office for about an additional 1 hour afterwards. I did have a moderate headache afterwards. By later that afternoon the headache resolved. I had some mild oozing from my nose which was minor and intermittent through the first 12 hours. I was religious about doing my sinus rinses twice a day every day for 2 weeks. I noticed improvements to my congestion around that 2-3 week mark. However now over 6 weeks out, my congestion is about 75%-90% improved! Dr Sigari was always easily available for questions and his office staff called to check up on me later that day. I went to Dr. Sigari due to a persistent cough I was having, I figured I could also use having my ears cleaned while there. I had been told by multiple doctor friends that a specialist doesn't do these simple procedures. However, Dr. Sigari never made me feel like my issues were small. I have to echo what most have said about Dr. Sigari. He is a fantastic ENT and for me was a Godsend. After experiencing a peritonsillar abscess and having it drained at Cedar Sinai, it was recommended I get them removed. For those of you who have not experience that...it is beyond painful and can easily bring a grown man to tears. I am woman who had a baby, and that was cake compared to this pain. Dr. Sigari examined me, went over my medical history, and gave me a CT scan. Not only did he recommend I have a Tonsilectomy due to chronic tonsillitis, BUT I had a deviated septum and some other sinus issue I never knew about. All I knew is that ever Winter was pure hell for me. My asthma Doctor at USC said the cold air triggers Rhinitis thus triggering my asthma. He would just prescribe me antibiotics and send me on my way, but never really eliminating the issue. So, I scheduled surgery with Dr. Sigari for everything to be fixed on August 5th. Well, I ended up with a second peritonsillar abscess on June 20th, but this time Cedars was no help. They kept me in the hospital for 3 days to only discharge me with antibiotics. Luckily, I had an appointment with Dr. Sigari that afternoon. By the time I made it to his office, I was in excruciating pain and in tears. He was so concerned and kind, he asked me to go to ER at Saint Johns to be admitted so he could do an emergency Tonsilectomy that night. Thank God he did, because the infection was so bad that it was dripping behind my tonsils and headed toward my lungs! I had to stay for 1 day post op and they let me go home. Yesterday, I had the sinus surgery. Mild pain but I have oozing and am congested. But he gave me the heads up on this. I'm up writing this review because I am waiting to do my Saline rinse to gain some relief so I can sleep and thought I would take the time to write this review. But most importantly, I want let anyone know...if you have any pain or issues in the nose/throat area. Do not hesitate to go see Dr. Sigari! He has fantastic bedside manner and really cares about his patients getting well. I look forward to recovering over the next week and breathing better, but most importantly not being sick all winter long and living a normal life. 28 YEAR OLD SINGER REVIEW. Just had a tonsillectomy surgery along with a Deviated septum/Turbine Reduction done with Doctor Sigari. I didn't know I had a deviated septum until I made the visit to him. Initially I went because I kept seeing doctors every couple months for sore throats. My tonsils were always huge and they needed to go! When I met Dr. Sigari he was nice and listened 'til I finished explaining everything. I didn't feel coerced into doing surgery, he let me sit on the idea and get back to him later. I'm VERY GLAD I did it! His office staff is really nice and professional. Once you check in, you don't have to wait too long to get in (which is awesome because you are paying for parking). Here's a break down of how my surgery went. Keep in mind, I am a singer. Although I am not by any means a professional making tons of money or have any kind of fame, I know this can be a deciding factor for those who are in the industry or even just like showing off their talent. Since I was on the fence about getting the surgery, my moving factor was having yet another sore throat. I had both surgeries done at the same time. They sent me to a really nice hospital in Santa Monica called St. John's Hospital. I was checked in fairly quickly and they were pretty prompted following the schedule. Next thing I knew, I was getting changed and off into the OR. The anesthesiologist was really nice as well. He made a very good "cocktail" for me, lol. I was put to sleep and remember waking up shortly after... I don't know how long I was under but I assume it was in the estimated 1.5 hour time frame. When I woke up It was difficult to breathe, it was shaken for a second but then was like... EH, if I go, I go... lol. The nurse put blow by oxygen to my face and I was okay and felt better. My throat hurt and they gave popsicles which were super helpful! Trust me when I say, buy lots of popsicles because for 4 days, they will be your best friend. After about 30 minutes, I got dressed and my parents gave me a ride back home. I slept most the day and to be honest, the pain wasn't all that unbearable. It was definitely uncomfortable. But the most uncomfortable pain I felt was when I first woke up from surgery (7/10 pain scale). Once I was home and drinking my liquid pain killer, the pain never exceeded a 5 throughout my healing coarse. I did have trouble sleeping on occasions because my UVULA had swollen from the surgery. It felt like I was somewhat drowning at times when I slept on my back. Sleep on your side and you should be fine. I mostly ate chicken noodle soup for 48 hours as well as popsicles. It was surprising to be eating so quickly. I'd say after 4 days you can probably start eating solids comfortably, but don't eat anything like chips or with an acidic content. I lost a few pounds in the process, which was great because I was dieting before surgery anyways. I'd say it took about 11 days to fully recover. I'm back to singing and my voice feels fine. It feels as though my vocal mask has changed, but I am definitely still able to sing the same. I feel like I've been able to a few notes a little easier since the surgery... But time will tell as I keep practicing. Overall I am pleased with my surgery and glad I did it. I would do it again if I had but, but only if i had to LoL. Hope this is helpful:) read more

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Sigari. I'm 33 and have been putting off getting my tonsils out because of the horror stories I've heard from friends and I've read about on the internet. The whole experience was so good that I can honestly say I would do it again. Day #1 was the only really painful day but you take your meds every 4 hours and sleep through it. The rest were just varying degrees of a sore throat...totally tolerable. I have two little kids under 4 and was taking care of them by the 3rd day (even though I had my mom staying with us for that very reason), and I was eating solids by day 3-4. I went back to work exactly 7 days after my procedure without even thinking about my throat. He is amazing and kind and goes out of his way to make sure all of your needs are met. You will not find a better doctor. Period. I never waited after arriving, and he spent the time to walk me through everything and thoroughly answer my questions. Additionally, for tonsil removals, he uses a different technique then most doctors, which is designed to reduce pain and speed up recovery. My pain was minimal after the first two days (I used pain killers for those days), and I was able to function as normal aside from having a limited diet. My journey into finally finding a good ENT is an interesting one but hopefully this review will help anyone who has breathing / sinus issues... The factors are compounding but the straw that broke the camel's back was when my co-worker joked that I breathed like Darth Vader sometimes!! Although it was a funny joke, I knew that my breathing/sinus issues wasn't just affecting me and finally decided enough was enough. I'd grown up always having breathing issues; I'd lived in the San Fernando Valley for most of my life and in recent years moved to the West side. While my sinus and breathing issues did improve, I would still go through periods of not being able to breath through my nose and my family members constantly asked if I was sick or had allergies because my voice sounded "nasally" over the phone. Prior to this, an x-ray of my foot (due to a totally non-related issue) revealed that I had unsatisfactory bone density and the doctor actually "prescribed" (aka recommended) that I needed more oxygen. I started my search on Yelp and found so many great reviews and had to see for myself. I've read poor reviews on the "customer service" side but I'm happy to say that I did not experience that. I liked that this office uses updated methods of completing new patient forms (all online) and have had no problems getting my questions answered. Consultation: Informative and pleasant. I met with Dr. Sigari and with a CT scan (and another tool for which I don't know the name) we discovered that I had a deviated septum as well as an inflamed turbinate. He was very assuring that a septoplasty and turbinate reduction would do the trick.. furthermore, since I've never had any surgical procedure performed prior to this, he was also very assuring that this would be a smooth procedure. Since the consultation went so well, this also essentially became the pre-op appointment! Pre-Operation: Easy-peasy. The nurse who scheduled my surgery was also very happy to answer my slew of questions; she also provided an informative e-mail on prescriptions to pick-up with instructions of when to take them pre-operation. Operation (8/9/2017): Smooth (for what it was) and QUICK. Dr. Sigari talked me through each step of the way which helped me remain calm (as I was anesthetized yet awake). I was in and out no more than an hour! (Again, this is in my case...everyone's is unique.) After the procedure, they provided some bandaging as there is plenty of oozing while the body is healing. NOTE: Plan on purchasing more gauze and tape as you will want to change this frequently the first and second day (at the very least). I had virtually NO swelling and had NO bruising. I took the pain meds this day only! What could be improved: I had tons of questions of what I can do, should not do, etc. and didn't even know what to ask during the next few days after surgery. It would have been great to have the nurse/doctor address those ahead of time. For me, the oozing was soooo annoying; the urge was to go in there with a cotton swab but you don't want to do this. No heavy physical activity (working out, etc. - not that you'd be in the mood to even do that while you're healing.) I also slept upright the first night so that the oozing would drain out properly as well as breathing through my mouth the first couple of nights - be prepared to not get much sleep and have water by your bedside because your mouth WILL dry out. The days following did improve significantly and even through the scabbing, etc., I noticed that airflow was improved!! I continued being gentle with the area... Again, NO pain, other than the nose being tender (as one would expect with having surgery). Just keep minding the urge to blow your nose, etc. until you meet with the Dr. again! (I ate foods rich in collagen as well as pineapples which is a healing fruit as well and arnica.) Post-Operation (Day 7 - 8/16/2017): Great! Dr. Sigari was very pleased as the healing was going extremely well; it almost appeared as if nothing happened. =) He informed me that experiencing some stuffiness is to be expected. As I write this today, 8/29/2017, I do experience the stuffiness that Dr. Sigari informed me of but this is no way near what I was experiencing before. I always have airflow through my nostrils... I breathe SO much easier and I firmly believe the quality of my sleep has improved greatly - I sleep more still and I even think I have more "get-up-and-go" when I do wake up (I feel way less sluggish and mentally clear). I didn't realize how much my poor breathing was having on me. I'm VERY happy I went through with this procedure and I've always had great interaction with Dr. Sigari and the staff. Any place will come with it's fair share of unsatisfactory experiences as no place is perfect. Trust your gut and at least give Dr. Sigari and his team to provide a consultation. He takes great pride in his work and does demonstrate true interest in ENT health!! read more
