It was such a pleasure dropping my car off for service at Del's. The only thing that I regret is not doing it sooner! My service light was on for about a month, so I called to make an appointment. They have someone who can work on European and imported cars. I dropped my car off and was able to pick it up on the same day since it was a pretty routine service that I needed. Got a PPI done on a prospective vehicle, they were great and gave me great insight on the potential purchase and what issues to expect. I do not regret getting this inspection, these guys are great for the area and I highly suggest them. Ronnie was always available to talk to me and was very wise with his knowledge on European cars. The PPI that was performed was a total PPI including checking the engine, transmission and leaks but also on the exterior and functions. This also includes a drive test by an experienced technician. When I first went arrived I was quite please with the friendly service. I needed my spark plugs and oil changed. Thinking I would save a little bit of money, I brought my own spark plugs. As soon as the guy saw that I brought my own parts, he informed me that they would not install parts that weren't bought from there. He even told me that that's half of their "business". What he was really saying is that that's how they make their money, by overcharging on parts. He did offer to still do my oil change though. No, no thank you. Since moving to Stafford four years ago, my wife and I trust only Dels to work on our vehicles. The front office and mechanics shop function much more like a family than just an ordinary business, which also translates to how customers are treated as well. The mechanics are some of the best in the area and can work on nearly any model car. To date Dels have completed the following repairs on our vehicles: Brake Service Electrical system troubleshooting Oil changes / tire rotations State inspections (to include emissions) Rack and pinion repair (steering) Alternator replaced I can't see any reason to go anywhere else. I Went to this place based off the reviews. I'm a current Marine Officer, prior mechanic at Ford. Not having tools here this place seemed solid even offering military discount. I'm a straight shooter in life and have no room for scamming. So check this out: I needed bearings replaced in my left front wheel. Knew it and told them. Upon dropping off they said often times the other can go bad so could they check it "holding the car a little longer". Everyone knows the driver front wheel bearings/hub assembly go out first in every vehicle. Upon picking it up he said they confirmed that it was only the left wheel and charge me a half hour of labor $57 to drive down the road to confirm that the sound was gone and I in fact did not need the passenger front replaced... you have to drive it after install anyway. Then try to cover themselves by saying they replaced a bolt that broke off that holds the speed sensor; for free and that was half hour labor. So make sure you know when they say they're going to "hold your vehicle a little longer" that charge is going to come and they're not gonna verify if something else is wrong to fix it that way they can use it as collateral. Marines this shop is a no go. read more

Never felt any pressure for additional work that may not have been needed. Always friendly and helpful. If the "Marine Officer" felt scammed, that is a shame, but I would expect any decent mechanic to double check what may be wrong vice just taking the owners (ford experience or not) diagnosis. If I walk in to a doctors office and say "I have a broken arm", he's going to X-Ray my arm and not just take me at my word. One would expect a repair shop to do the same. read more

My vehicle has a lift kit and this makes it a little difficult for alignments. I called Del's and asked if they could do it and they were right up front and told me their software wasn't up to date yet and it would be guesswork, which they didn't want to do. New to the area and needed to take my car in because it was leaking oil. I have trust issues with car shops because one in Laurel screwed me over and made me pay thousands of dollars for something when my car just needed an oil change. I got on Yelp and Del's was the first to pop up, I saw it had 5 stars and I was NOT disappointed with their services. They notified me word for word what the were doing to my car and why. They thought they were going to have to replace a valve and quoted me for that replacement but ended up not needing to and subtracted if from my final quote (I know a lot of shops that would have replaced it anyways and charged me for labor). Stopped in for a last minute oil change (on a Friday, at that) and I received the best service I have ever received from an automotive shop! When I entered I was immediately welcomed by Chris, and he quickly started entering my information into the system, since I was a new customer. When I asked for an oil change, he recommended a specific type of oil and a tire rotation, accompanied with a detailed description of why he recommended it, but when I politely declined, he didn't push and try to convince me otherwise. Chris also set me up with a courtesy text reminder for my oil change service, which was nice, even though I am pretty good at tracking when I need my oil change! I no more than sat down to crack open my book, when he advised me that my oil change was complete! The cost of the oil change was comparable to other automotive shops, but the customer service here surpassed the competition. I also noticed that they truly value their customers. As Chris was entering my information into the system, a customer walked to the shop, and Chris advised his colleague, "Please assist {enter customer's name here}, while I get Miss Ashley set up." I think being greeted on a first-name basis really adds to the experience. Another example of prime customer service. Chris's colleague received a call from a customer requesting assistance with towing, as she had just gotten into an accident, and he advised her that they no longer provide that service but immediately provided her with a company that was dependable and reliable. When he hung up, Chris entered the room and was caught up on what had just occurred. He asked, "Does she need a ride anywhere? I can go pick her up..." I've always been a supporter of small business, especially when it comes to restaurants, boutiques, and now automotive shops! I normally feel like I have to be on guard when entering places like these; almost like I'm an easy victim to prey on and take advantage of when it comes to repairs and routine maintenance. But, I certainly did not feel that way when I was here! As long as I reside in Stafford, I will be a loyal customer to Del's Automotive! read more

Very honest and reasonable price. I took my vehicle there for diagnostics. They have the opportunity to come up with all sorts of mechanical and electrical problems as to why the vehicle stopped working even after been jumped many times. There diagnoses was the battery had no enough juice and all they did was to charge it overnight and just changed me cost of charging the battery. read more

Guys at my job talked about this place. 08 Acura TL was due for 105K mile timing belt replacement. Got a quote by both phone and email promptly. Price would've been $1300-$1600 at the dealership. They quoted me less than $1000. Ended up being $1200 because they discovered a broken motor mount but they gave me a military discount. Satisfied with the work so far, and it's warrantied for 2 years. Only gripes were that they forgot to return my wheel lock and the radiator cap wasn't tightened down. read more

We are military and moved here 1.5 years ago. My husband is always busy with work and I'm the one left taking our vehicles in for oil changes, repairs, etc. I usually have my guard up and I've become a tough negotiator based on previous experience. I needed to take my husband's truck into Ford for a recall-once I was there, they gave me a laundry list of things that needed to be fixed-outside of warranty. I turned them down and took our truck to Del's based on several recommendations. They gave it to me straight and we only ended up needing a strut fixed.
