Pleased with my service this week to and from Manchester, I only wish that Delta served this airport with some more flights on Sunday. With one too early and one too late, I ended up taking Boston for the following week and making the hour or so drive. Baggage claim isn't too speedy but it is still very well within Delta's 20 minute guarantee. If your bag isn't on the carousel by then, go to delta.com/bagsontime and they will credit you 2500 SkyMiles. Returning to the airport and checking two bags with the ticket agent was easy. There are enough rope lines to have separate ones for economy and priority customers. The young lady was polite, thanked me for my business and provided directions to the security checkpoint. This Airline is the absolute worse; avoid at all costs if you have common sense. They're in fact, disgusting to deal with! After being a customer, several experiences worth. From your luggage not arriving with your flight due to the impossible amount of time they give their customers to connect in ATL to their "DELTA AIR LINES made an involuntary schedule change that affects your upcoming trip (Itinerary Number:..." You call their customer service people, they give you the run around. They give zero f...cks about how the changes brought on by them affect their customers, and offer 0 in terms of compensating for it. When you tell them, you won't be flying with them, they antagonize you and say that's certainly your option. I am done with these scumbags forever!!!!!! read more

I flew Delta out of Manchester and it was fine. I purchased my tickets online and had a digital boarding pass so I had minimal human contact. The staff that I saw were friendly and smiled and had manners. The flight was on time and the gate area clean with outlets for chargers and open areas to sleep on the floor. No complaints here. I just had the best customer service experience with Danielle. She took the time to listen to my needs and then was able to offer up suggestions and help me solve my flight concerns and discuss other options with me. Her tone, listening skills and overall care was greatly appreciated. I don't know what level employee she is, but she is and should be moving through your ranks quickly. If not I know a lot of companies who could uses employees like her. With so many people complaining, I like to take the time to recognize those who are making a positive impact on the customer experience and I hope Delta recognizes and rewards people like her! I recently took a flight from BOS to LAS with a layover in LAX. Overall was a cheap ticket and I was able to choose my seats for one flight for about $15 extra. The almost 5 hour flight to LAX was pretty good. The seats were spacious and they had individual TVs with great movies. The flight service was pretty good as well. We were served a complimentary lunch, a choice of a snack, soft drinks, and water. I felt very satisfied with the inflight service. The only downsides to this flight was that I could only choose the seat about a week in advance (I had booked almost two months before departure) ; they didn't have any earbuds or headphones either complimentary or for sale; the overhead compartment was pretty low. I had Bluetooth headphones so I couldn't enjoy the inflight entertainment (although they did have games and a great flight tracker map). The second flight from LAX to LAS was bumpy and nauseating. They didn't give me a seat assignment until the gate and while I was sat in a window seat (thanks to their awesome customer service representative who was attentive and friendly) it was still pretty tight and the seatbelts were smaller than the first flight. Overall I was happy with my flights. While a long journey, I felt as though I was taken care of and looked after. This has got to be the worst airlines in the world. Booked a flight to and from Orlando and got the message this morning that our flight was cancelled due to the storm in Boston. Certainly understood. So when do I come tomorrow for my flight? Answer! Don't show up till Monday because that's when they can fly us home. Not because of weather but because they don't have any seats because all of Saturday and Sunday flights are booked. So now we sit in Orlando paying for three additional nights for two rooms and meals for 5 people. Doesn't this crappy airlines own extra planes they can use in a case like this. I guess not and more importantly they could care less. What a joke this airlines is. I highly recommend anyone planning a flight in the future to look anywhere but Delta. And if Delta has an issue with this review I'd be more than happy to talk directly with anyone in that company that has a brain, so I guess I won't look forward to a call. read more

My husband flew delta this past week and was very disappointed with the seating , he was packed in like a sardine in the middle seat with two larger people on each side of him, needless to say all three were not comfortable. There were several seats that were empty but they would not let passengers move their seats because those seats were "premium " seats HELLO , who are you planning on selling the seats to when your up thousands of feet up in the clouds? Crazy . Passengers should be able to move if there are empty seats. read more

Unethical. Bait & switch. Booked a flight from PSP to MHT and paid a significant amount extra to avoid an overnight flight. Closer to my trip, they cancelled my flight and involuntarily booked me on an overnight flight. Refused to reimburse for the difference or offer anything to compensate. They pretend that cancelling the trip and offering a refund is fair, knowing that all other flights are booked for less than $1000. It's their policy to steal your money. read more

We (my extended family and I) were traveling from MA to Phoenix for a week to explore AZ, on Delta Airlines. There were 8 of us traveling together, so we booked a flights with a layover each way, which was cheaper. BIG MISTAKE! The trip out was OK, without incident, but the return trip was a NIGHTMARE! It was a 7:00AM flight, so we were up by 4:30. We (i.e. my wife and I) were up until 3AM getting ready for the flight, and I didn't sleep at all. Not one wink. But that was fine. I expect to sacrifice something for a cheap flight. I thought that would be the longer route, but it turned out much worse than that. It started with the first plane, to Seattle, having engine trouble, it (or they) wouldn't start, so they had to bring out some machine to start them. That slowed us down at least 10-15 minutes. There was still a 30 minute gap between when we were due to arrive and when our connecting flight disembarked. We were encouraged that we would make it. Well, we almost made it (actually, we missed it by a mile, considering they lock the doors 20 minutes before takeoff, a fact they did not explain). We got in with about 15 minutes to spare, and the stewardesses asked passengers to let those with tight connecting flights disembark first, but of course everybody ignored the request. I got off the plane with 5 minutes to spare, and RAN almost 1/2 mile to the other gate (I am 65 yoa), only to find the door locked. They refused to open it, despite the fact that we were late because of THEIR screwup. I tweaked my back in the process. Our connecting flight from Seattle, which we missed was due about 10:00AM. They put us on the "next available flight," which would depart at 2:00PM. That was adding about 4 hours of sitting around the airport, on top of an unnaturally long 9 hour crossing. But this flight has yet another layover, in Detroit. We got in on time, about 6:00PM (my times are a bit rough, because the time zones were changing, and I'm working from memory), and this plane was on time, but guess what? The connecting flight was delayed! The connecting flight from Detroit to Boston, which was delayed by weather, and then cancelled. They put us on the next flight, which was at 9:00PM, but as the departure time drew closer, it was announced that they were having difficulty getting the crew in from Boston, and so the flight was delayed. As it got later, 10:00 and then 11:00, it was announced that they weren't sure they would get the crew to Detroit before 1:20AM, at which time the pilot's period of duty would expire, and the flight would be cancelled! Recall that we would never have been in that position, if they had had the first plane, in Phoenix, ready to fly when it was scheduled to fly. By midnight, I was telling the people at the Delta desk that if it was cancelled, we wanted 2 hotel rooms, a car, and a flight later in the day the next day, so we could get some sleep. They told me they were not responsible, and would not get us rooms, because it was "an act of God," i.e. a natural delay cause by weather. I reminded them that we would never have been on that flight, if the first plane of the day had not been delayed, due to their lack of preparedness, causing us to miss our first connection. Well, it turned out that the crew from Boston DID get in on time, and we did depart to Boston at about 1:00AM, and we got into Boston about 3:30AM. bringing the entire trip to 2 layovers, 4 planes (double the planned number of each), and bringing the entire trip to 20 1/2 hours (double the scheduled duration), plus a lot of stress, worry, exhaustion, disappointment and anguish. By the time we got home, it had been 48 hours since we had last slept. The company, Delta Airlines, did not ever agree to any compensation for our trouble, whatsoever, despite the fact the this entire NIGHTMARE started with their failure to have their plane ready in Phoenix. They were dismissive of any such suggestion. I say the trip they gave us was worth nowhere near what we paid for it. One airline employee, when I complained, said I "get what I paid for" (since it was a cheap flight), but nowhere in our contract does it say we would get only severely substandard service for our money (it was supposed to be cheap because it had a layover in a city in the wrong direction from our destination)! I say that capitalism, i.e. capitalists like DA have engineered the laws to protect them far better than they protect us. I believe that capitalism is the root of this problem, as it is in fact at the root of most of our problems. We all agree, we will never again fly on Delta Airlines, which gave us the worst flying experience of our lives. BTW, THE NH address given with this review is inaccurate. I don't know how it got there, but Delta Airlines is an international company. read more

Just had to use them for my flight back home from CA. Then minutes before boarding, they announced that the flight that I was on was no longer going to Atlanta, as scheduled. They had to go to LAX first, & there would be a hour lay over there & then they would go to Atlanta. I had a, connecting flight from Atlanta, & with an hr delay, I was going to miss it. They gave me a number to call to see if they could put me on a different flight. They told me they would, but I would no longer be landing in Manchester,NH, but rather in Boston, MA, & it would be several hours later. I told them that wasn't acceptable. I paid to land in Manchester, as that's where I was being picked up, & I wasn't about to put this person out of their way, as well as mange them have to pick me up at now 2 am, as well as an hr away from where they were supposed to pick me up. I was then told that I would have to wait until the next day, & now I'd Assisi have to take three flights to get back. I was given a voucher for a hotel, which I did ask if they could plz put me back at the hotel I just left (which was on their list.) They didn't even try. Instead, I had to go to a strange hotel, & was not given a voucher for food or the other things I needed to purchase b/c my luggage was already on the other plane, so all I had was whatever was in my carry on. I've never had to deal with this issue before and wasn't happy with the way it was handled. read more

Got to the ticket counter to check in exactly 1 minute late for Delta's 'mandatory' 30 min cutoff to chk onto a flight. I arrived at PWM running a bit late but NONE of the departure signs said the flight was boarding so I thought I had time to use the bathroom - big mistake. Why didn't they just post the flight status accurately? 'Boarding'.. like hurry up! They weren't even busy.. when I got to the flight desk most of the staff was just standing around by the kiosks gossiping. Then the representatives made zero effort to get me onto my flight despite this was at Portland Maine International, a tiny airport that w my TSA pre check, I could hv literally gotten to the gate in less than 5 minutes. Instead I had to stand there reviewing my options to get back to NYC. Which was either standby on the next flight or over $600 for the one after that, HOURS later. I chose standby but of course the agents didn't tell me there were 8! other ppl in front of me on the standby list -lol. I didn't find that out until I asked once I got to the actual gate watching the flight I'd paid for sit attached to the jet bridge for 20 minutes that I could hv boarded it during.. They'd just closed the gate and told me it was as sold out flight anyways.. they obv gave my seat away immediately despite the fact I was downstairs begging the check in staff to simply contact the gate staff to tell them I was there 1 minute late and could of they just make an exception? I've had Delta fights canceled outright several times at this airport bcs of weather and the shiftless staff has done close to zero in those cases as well, despite my loss of several hundred dollars both times bcs 'act of God'. This time it could hv been just the act of a professional to give me a hand but instead just another soul sucking, disappointing experience w a shiftless, clueless, useless staff that only does what the computer tells them instead of taking any kind of initiative to help a long time customer. But this IS PWM, the airport that let all those armed 911 hijackers on board. What should anyone expect? Mainers do not think outside the box as a rule. Anyways, I just ended up booking a totally new, expensive flight w Jet Blue rather than getting further jerked around by Delta's unhelpful employees. Boarded flight DL 1626 this morning and the inside of the plane was freezing - not chili - not cold - it was freezing. There is no need to allow the interior of the plane to be that cold. The interior temperature should be comfortable. If you can't properly take care of your passengers - hire people with a clue that can. Your in a service industry. Why should I be made to feel uncomfortable when I walk onto your plane? Answer that? Why should I pay thousands of dollars to sit in an absolutely uncomfortable condition? I informed the Flight Attendant and she had no response - yup nothing - so well trained she can't communicate and service a customer. What a joke. Why don't you mandate that I put on my seat belt - then 10 minutes later tell me how to use it. Oh yeah...that's what you do. How outdated is your training that you think you have to tell someone how to use a seatbelt. Anyone that's been in a car since 1964 knows how to use a seatbelt. How about you teaching your employees how to control the plane's interior temperature. read more
