While I usually book flights out of Santa Ana to Seattle when in SoCal, I opted for a flight out of Ontario as it was during the holiday season and flight prices were elevated. I liked how quiet ONT is, which is a lot less congested than LAX and even SNA. Delta has limited flights out of this airport as it only flies to Atlanta, Salt Lake City and Seattle from here, but still seems to have a decent presence here based on their check-in area. My flight was on Airbus A220, which is a new plane that Delta has in its fleet. I like flying Delta as their planes have IFE screens to watch movies and TV shows, in addition to the Wi-Fi and streaming entertainment services. Flight service was so-so as there was turbulence and the flight attendant serving drinks was a bit rude when I asked for coffee. I was tired and wanted a pick-me-up. Given the context, I could understand why they would question serving coffee when there was turbulence but I did not like the way it was communicated. It would have been better to provide coffee once the turbulence subsided if that was an issue. I would still consider flying Delta and out of ONT in general, if the fare was significantly better than SNA. read more

I have no problems with Delta! I really love their app because it gives you frequent updates and gives you an option to map out your journey at any airport (similar to gps) so that you know how to get to the correct terminal and you know how long it will take you to get there. Delta typically has great customer service and I have never had a negative interaction at Ontario Airport or anyplace else! read more

If I can fly out on Delta I almost always will. It's always a good experience. I usually get the nonstop to Atlanta and Ontario is always my first choice over LAX. You can't beat that hassle free experience here. There may not be many flights out of here yet but if you can find the right flight and fly out here do it. Hopefully more flights will be offered soon to other destinations in the near future. Looking forward to that day coming. read more

My niece's first trip was hassle if not Miguel who was check-in agent on night 1/18/26. He was patient and kind. Because language barriers, I was on the phone with him explaining situations. He helped her correct her name on her tickets. Then her flight was canceled. Here Miguel again helped her to rebook new flight ( but flight is in LAX), arranged Uber, hotel, shuttle for her and personally assisted her luggage's n showed her Uber pickup location. Terrible service! I fly very regularly for work, they checked my carryon bag and I get on the plane and there's all this space for luggage? Such a hassle that I now have to go to baggage claim when I'm supposed to be at work! Maybe use a walkie to communicate how much space you still have on the plane. read more

This suitcase was brand new when i left home to fly ont/ slc, and i flew 1st class... priority baggage handling. It has tire track marks, or such, on the suitcase when i received it in SLC. Also, scraped part on the sides, zippers handles and locks torn off. The suitcase looks like it went to Hell and back!! The problem with filing a claim is that you have to see a gal in the office there first, which is at the airport. She then will evaluate the damage.. and then give you a number to file a claim IF she deems it necessary.. with that number, you can first pull up paperwork from online to file a claim and enter the number she gave you to file the claim, AND this all has to be done within 24 hours!! That's a ridiculous way to be able to file a claim.   Im 71 years old. I was in a wheelchair,  so I didn't handle the suitcase. The wheelchair person for Delta took it off the belt in baggage claim. Then I see my daughter and grandkids and am excited to see them.  I greet them,  and my daughter continues to take the suitcase to the car. I'm an hour away from the airport.  HOW do I see this person in the Delta office to then file a claim within 24 hours?  That's impossible!! The suitcase was new. It has to go in the trashcan.  This all happened flying first class, and flying first class was supposed to give me priority baggage handling as one of the perks for flying 1st class.  Shame, shame,  shame on Delta Airlines..  This is what to expect when you fly Delta Airlines.  ( ps: I have a Nikon brand new camera that was in this suitcase ( for a Xmas present)  I don't know how to work a camera since I'm old.. so I can't even test it to check it out if it's ok.  Delta.com In addition, I'm very unhappy with the cabins during flight. Being in 1st class, no pillow, no blanket! There was a video screen on the way up for entertainment, but no ear buds offered to hear it. A two hour flight and all I got was a baggy of chips.. or, the basket did make a second round so you could take some more chips or a little cookie. For first class and a 2 hour flight, I think it's not unreasonable to expect a decent snack such as a little sandwich or such, especially since this flight was right during lunch hours. On the way back I brought my own ear buds instead of packing them, but there was NO monitor of any sort for entertainment made available. In closing I am adding that the employees at Delta, in comparison to other airlines, are the most impersonal people I have ever encountered traveling. Not friendly, not helpful , a forced little smile... maybe because I was in a wheelchair it was as if one becomes invisible to them? read more

Worst Experiences Ever Today! Flight Delay, I understood. Rude Customer Service? No excuse. Traveling with Disabilities and Small child and treated poorly. Delta booked us on flight to cover having us miss our flight due to delay BUT when we got to the gate, agent rudely turned us away and said it was full even though itinerary showed we were booked. Called airline, they said it must be a glitch that two separate agents booked us on two separate flights. Imagine having your small child booked separately from you? To add insult to injury, manager asked why cant we be okay with being able to SEE one another instead of sitting together?  This is amazingly horrible and they are outdoing theirselves with rudeness. Worst customer service even in the post Covid era. Plane left 10 min early leaving me stranded without my luggage. Luggage made the flight but I was delayed due to security. I arrived at the gate with 15 minutes till takeoff, but the plane was already gone. My seats were then downgraded and booked on an overnight flight leaving me in Detroit. Waited for hours to catch a the final flight to my destination. Very stressful event considering all the mistakes on their side, only to be harassed by their staff at ever turn. LAX delta staff as an entirety needs training or replacement. I'd recommend walking rather than ever fly with delta or their partner airlines. read more

Well, my experience since flying has improved. I'm still unhappy with the hold times for customer service but the flight itself was great. Relatively roomy. I asked for an earlier flight and was graciously placed on standby even though I have a basic ticket. Staff are friendly and arrival was on time. read more

So after booking a year or so in advance, Delta CANCELS the flight and doesn't BOTHER TELLING ME! I found out AT the airport trying to check in! So they rebook me the next day, add 2 layovers (and LONGER ones), and while I'm waiting on one of those layovers, I'm told THAT flight has now been delayed (MULTIPLE times!!)! So the wedding I booked these flights to get to, I'll end up missing! If I ever get OUT of here, bc I'm STILL waiting for an open flight in UTAH, I will NEVER fly, recommend flying, or CONSIDER flying with Delta again!! And WILL go to any/all lengths to let people know just how AWFUL my experience with booking, checkin, and DELAYS have been with Delta! OH! David the gate agent at gate 208 for Flight DL3506 on Saturday Sep 5 at Ontario Airport was so rude to me today he had me in tears when I got on the airplane. David reminded me of how mean and hateful people can be. When I first walked up I noticed David was already upset about something therefore I waited. As he continued to ignore me I proceeded to wait as he was preparing the flight. I knew I had to say something before he closed the flight out. As a flight attendant it sucks to know that David is treating Delta's customers and co workers with disrespect. He proceeded to tell me I'm not going to work because I'm not in uniform. I ask him if he was having a bad day. He was so rude I wish I could've recorded him but as a flight attendant we can not. Big high five to Claire at Delta counter in Ontario airport. My motherinlaw, 96 years youg, was late and missed her flight on Tues March 2....it was on Alaska airlines. Their counter was closed...Claire was next to Alaska counter. So she was able to help mom to call me, explain situation so I could rebook thru Alaska for later in the day....mom doesn't have cell phone! Mom had to wait for four hours but was kept company by Claire, A very trying, unpleasant experience turned out to be an easy afternoon at the airport for mom due to Claire concern and compassion. I purchased the Comfort class upgrades for a recent flight from JFK to Nice and return. Cost was $238. It was advertised and urged on me by Delta that I would get much more leg room.....I did, considering I was facing the bulkhead. I was supposed to get upgraded snacks, better service of food and cocktails, etc....an upgrade over regular Coach. What a crock of lies. Yes, I got a little more legroom, but I got exactly the same 1 little pack of pretzels, same meals, same cocktail service as the regular fare Coach. Where the hell was the upgrade? Lying bastards stole $238 from me! Its bad enough that they charge you for a bag, but when they tout the upgrade and don't deliver 1 iota of different service than regular Coach, I get upset. So, beware of the phony upgrade. Unless 4" more of legroom is a big deal to you, this is just a plain rip off. read more

I wanted to share how amazing I find this airline. They have gone out of their way to make sure I am taken care of on every flight. Flight attendants are always kind and willing to help. The movie selection is always fresh. I do not want to ever fly with anyone else. Even when I have to call and make changes, they are so accommodating. I am so happy with my service I have already booked the next three flights with them. Even the check in is a breeze. The app is so easy to use too.
