As one of the best wineries in the valley, Wiens had an excellent wine selection and a very nice, casual atmosphere. There's nothing fancy about it and you won't find a high price gift shop but you will really enjoy the excellent wines and the comfortability of being able to relax for most of the day. There's an outdoor, dog friendly patio and you can carry in your own lunch and/or snacks. We come for the wine tasting and to play cards. After having put my membership on hold for 6 months, I decided to reactivate it. This was only my second time back and I was really disappointed with the service I got. It was on a Saturday and came to celebrate a birthday and enjoy some wine and drink casually. We were able to get a table inside the barrel room since it was a hot day. We started off good for our first 2 pours and then it just went down hill from there. Long gaps between our pours, we started noticing the employee was constantly chatting with customers for long periods of time. At one point I was ready to just get up and walk over to the counter with my glass to get my next tasting. This employee has been there for a long time also, she is not new. What was really upsetting was she was slow in refilling our glasses but then she asked us to take a full glass instead of the tasting to rush us out of there. I refused her suggestion, that's not how customers are supposed to be treated. read more

Today we visited Weins with a group of seniors who do Tipsy Tuesdays at wineries in the area. We were patiently waiting for our server to take our order. When we let her know we were doing tastings as wine club members. She said "Oh, I thought you were part of the knitting club." We were a part of that group. How disrespectful was that for paying customers who were there to enjoy a nice afternoon. Weins, you need to do better than this! read more

Recently visited Wiens Family Cellars for a tasting. The venue is huge with plenty of seating, but overall it wasn't my favorite experience. The wines were just okay and felt a bit overpriced for the quality. I've definitely enjoyed tastings more in Paso Robles. It does get very busy on weekends, so if you're looking for something more low-key, I'd recommend going during the week. A very nice touch though was that we were able to bring our own charcuterie spread. read more

Stopped in for a tasting and we enjoyed their large patio. This winery had a huge list of wines and a few of them were award winning, but I ended up purchasing a couple bottles they were not on the award list. Met up with the fam at this winery around 2:30 pm on Saturday and had a great time. Surprisingly, it wasn't as crowded as I expected it to be on Father's Day weekend. Parking was easy. Walking up to the entrance, this place had great curb appeal and the foliage made it feel warm & welcoming. Inside, there were many tables to sit at and a private, member's only room that was very cool, dim and lined with barrels. We got our wine tasting cards right at the entrance. The employees were super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We were helped by Stevie and she was wonderful. The wine list was great, many to choose from that accommodated everyone's different tastes and preferences. We chose the wines we wanted to try then headed out to the outdoor area. There's a large covered patio with tables and chairs as well as out on the grassy lawn. There's also a stage area where there was live music as well, a man with a guitar, which made for a relaxing and enjoyable ambiance. We very impressed that this place was kid & dog friendly. So much so there was a kid's birthday party in session. We also appreciated that outside food/snacks was allowed (outdoor). This will definitely be on our list when we return to wine country. read more

My husband and I came down from LA for my birthday weekend, and Wiens was easily one of our favorite stops. My sister has been raving about their red wines forever, so we finally had to check it out. The whole vibe of the place is amazing! Right when we walked in, the host took us to our reserved table with a delicious charcuterie board. We did a private tasting, and Brian, the winemaker, actually gave us a behind the scenes tour. The best highlight was when he let us taste a brand new, unreleased Barbera and Pinot Noir blend straight out of the tank! Such a cool, VIP experience. When we came back to our table, other wine club members were asking us all about it. I'm not gonna lie, I felt like I was that girl lol. The barrel room also has this moody lighting that is perfect for photos, and the entire staff was super welcoming. Sharon our server took great care of us. They really went out of their way to make my birthday setup feel extra special. If you're looking for delicious wine and a great atmosphere in Temecula, definitely add this to your list. Enjoyed a wine tasting yesterday during NYE. Arrived about 4:30 PM and stayed til closing. It was only $32 for two people to do 6 glasses of wine tasting which is a steal! LOVEEE Wiens!! I try to visit at least once a week-- whenever friends or family are in town, it's the first place I take them. The atmosphere is always welcoming, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, food trucks and live music on weekends, AND they're pet friendly! (: Also, BIG shoutout to Michael! He's incredibly knowledgeable (I thought he was a sommelier!!), friendly, always provides quick service and actually listens to what you like and don't like. When I first moved to Temecula, I only ordered Cabernet lol, but Michael helped me branch out and discover other wines I now enjoy. My current favorite is the Cote Noir (a blend of Malbec and Petite Sirah). It's sooo good! If you live locally, I'd recommend signing up as club members. I signed up for the Reds club, which offers up to 8 tastings A DAY which is an insane deal compared to other wineries! We have been members at many different wineries through the years in Temecula, Buellton, Napa, and Paso Robles. Wiens is, by far, our favorite winery! We love reds, and all of their wines are incredible. We stopped at Wiens years ago when we saw their sign that said "big bold reds." They aren't kidding. Their reds are the best! We have attended many fun events throughout the years, such as a Crowded pairing dinner, blend your own wine, pick up parties, and others. They are always well organized. They don't have a restaurant on site, but they have food trucks on the weekends. You can take your own snacks as well. I highly recommend visiting Wiens when you are in Temecula. The Summer Concert Series is a great way to spend your weekend so check it out if you can! I LOVE coming here even on a random weekday, but my favorite times are when they have great live music. This review is because we attended the kick off of the summer concert series! We had a large group and Michael, once again was an absolute joy!! The setup for these concerts was so cool! Tables on the lawn with umbrellas, open grass area near the stage, vendors setup around the perimeter, and live music before the concert even started! They thought of everything. They only had one food truck so options were limited, but I think they were expecting two more. I can't tell you how many times I've visited since a year ago when I joined the wine club! Every visit has been worth the drive. Michael Hall is usually my wine expert, but the few times he wasn't there we had someone nice too. He is always super knowledgeable about all wines, very personable with everyone around see him assisting, super patient with questions, and so much fun to chat with between pours. read more

Visited the Wiens cellar for a special event tasting. We enjoyed 3 of the 6 that were served (1 white, 2 reds). At the end of our tasting, our server mentioned that if we purchased two bottles we would be refunded one of the $50 wine tastings. We thought, why not. After we selected two, we were told that the deal was for reds only. Since we didn't care for any others we should've just stopped there however the server said she had a Cabernet for $89. We thought, fine - it's hard to mess up a cab. This is when things took a turn. When it was time to pay, the bill was $50 higher. Turns out she quoted us member pricing but was giving us non-member cost at check out. In all honesty, I should've just said no at that point but being after a tasting, let's just say I was a bit inebriated. The next morning I woke up to a $300 bill for the two bottles. As embarrassed as I was, I headed back to return it the next day since I felt hustled. Luckily for me, the experience in the return was much better. It's the only reason why I scored this so high and would consider returning at a future date. read more
