This place was BUSY but still offered great service, food, and a nice place to sit and enjoy some peace.

There are two separate listings for the same DCA Sky Club, so hopefully they get consolidated. I almost rated this lounge three stars. I can't help it. My primary lounge is LaGuardia, which is a bright, shining, new multi-million dollar facility. We're talking about getting ready to open a rooftop deck, white marble everywhere, premium fixtures, and all the bells and whistles. But then I snapped myself out of it. This isn't a huge lounge, but it does have a lot of spaces by large windows, to sit and admire the views of the Capitol. There are various types of seating--individual seats, business spaces with tables, a small quiet space for people who have meetings or need to concentrate. It's not crowded, not loud. Very understated. The bartenders are nice. Basic drink service you can expect from the average club. The food offerings are a little more sparse than the newer or larger clubs. The cheese had dried out. I didn't feel confident enough to try the sandwiches, as they had mayo on them, and I didn't feel they were at the right temp for safe consumption. They had some soup, hummus, and a couple meat dishes. The staff were very nice and attentive, keeping tables cleared and making sure we were taken care of. So is it mind blowing? Nah. But it's a quiet spot to get away from the terminal, with nice folks and some cocktails. The food could use a little work, but it was later in the day, so maybe they were winding that service down. read more

(Overall: B) - The DCA Skyclub is not as expansive as the hubs in NYC, but I do feel like they have the necessities to allow for a comfortable pre-flight experience with food that brings the bold flavor and is prepared well and a reasonable selection of complimentary cocktails. The space is a bit crowded, with every seat being occupied at most points, but the important thing is that it is clean and the bathroom is equally clean. This is definitely one of the better lounges although it can get quite crowded on holidays and weekends. It has a nice view of Capitol Hill. They do keep it quite clean. Food is decent and better than when I go to other lounges I suggest a stop by, especially for Amex platinum users before the restrictions come in next year. read more

The seating is comfortable but there are fewer options than the newer clubs (not a lot of work space except for two communal tables). The bartenders remain friendly and the liquor assortment t is pretty standard. The food is pretty standard but nothing particularly local. Lounge was well-maintained with refreshed food options and clean restrooms. It didn't have as many amenities as some other clubs. Staff were on their game, whipping drinks and whisking away empty dishes. This is a plus, as there wasn't a readily available place to put used dishes. Tho the club had very few patrons when we were in, there were signs up to advise priority levels in the event of a packed house, which is a major issue in some locations / some times of day. read more

Average Sky Club that has plenty of seating for individuals. I wouldn't recommend this location if you have small children since it seems like it is set up for business folks. They have a small hot food section and the standard coffee and soda machines. They don't have a lot of staff but it is great for grabbing a quick bite or drink before your flight or unwinding shortly after your arrival. I had no issues checking in after arriving on my outbound journey and then spent more time on my inbound journey. Overall, pretty average. read more

Bottom line: as other reviews mentioned, it's a good place to come up, have a beer, recharge, and continue forward. It is not the best sky clubs I've been to with regards to service and food but it's better then nothing. Service: hit or miss. The bartender and wait staff were initially very attentive but you can see by looking around the plates and empty drinks were stacking up. The food at the lines were going empty... and the breakfast is re-heated continental at best. Venue: the view is very nice. Like most other clubs/lounges, you get a first view of the tarmac. This particular venue has the view of the city and Capitol Hill, which is unique itself. If anything, come here for the view and couple it with a drink. Overall: again- would still recommend coming here. It's still a good venue to take a break away from the crowd and a place to recharge. A note: the Delta SkyClub is membership-based lounge that gives members with the same-day Delta tickets access. Please don't be wandering in here demanding access, claiming that you read my review and want in, if you're flying Spirit or something. This has been an incredibly tough summer for flying, and I am grateful DCA has Delta SkyClub that makes the experience a bit easier. Delta's flights are located on Terminal 2 within DCA. The SkyClub is located by Gate 15, which makes it quite a convenient, since it will be the first thing Delta customers see when getting to their gates. Before entering, customers are checked in at the kiosks out front, and the representatives there are even nice enough to remind each person of their flight time and gate, just in case they have too good a time inside. One of the things I dread most about traveling is having to use dirty restrooms, and the SkyClub here has quite a dedicated staff that cleans the restrooms quite regularly. What's more, the stalls have doors that to all the way down, which allows for greater privacy. Food options are both healthy and tasty - the last time I was here, the menu included turkey as well as shrimp sliders, which make for a lunch lighter meal prior to a flight. There are also vegan options as well as soups and snacks. Along with soda machines and infused water, they also serve top-of-the-line Starbucks coffee and other more fancy caffeinated drinks. Those who enjoy a few alcoholic beverages can select from a variety of standard drinks and beers (complementary). The more fancy drinks are available for purchase via miles or cash (they accept cards, also). The chairs are large and comfortable, and the glass windows allow aviation enthusiasts and pint-sized traveled to plane watch while waiting. If you're a frequent traveler, the Delta SkyClub membership is well worth it, since Delta has these clubs at most airports. Memberships are available through many ways. I paid $550 for my yearly membership with the miles I earned. I fly once or twice a month, and access the club about 30-40 times a year. That comes out to be about $18 a visit at the most conservative estimate, and that's well worth it for clean restrooms, food and drinks and a relaxing atmosphere before a flight. Holders of the Delta-branded American Express platinum can get in for $39 per visit, and Delta Reserve members get in for free. Airline loyalty memberships and clubs can be complicated. Long awaited and much needed improvement is a huge success! This Sky Club was under a seemingly endless renovation. At long last, it is open with all of the beautiful improvements. And wow! What a beauty it is! The new bar is gorgeous. The light fixtures are modernized and shiny and bright. The food buffet is one of the best I've seen at a Delta lounge, with soup and sandwiches, crackers and cheese and fruit, even fresh veggies and salad, and of course the standard brownies and snack mix. The decor is simultaneously relaxing and energizing, which is perfect for the hustle and bustle of travelers constantly in and out of this lounge. The staff is still as friendly as always, and watch out, they pour a stronnnnggg drink. Their CLEAR access at the entry even works, yay! Only small complaints would be the vie water system was not working, and there are no charging outlets at the bar area. Very happy to finally have the old tiny stuffy space and mess of construction gone. This new lounge feels open and airy and lovely. I'll have to start coming to DCA much earlier before my flights to take advantage of this great space. read more

Made it through security to see the Delta elevator headed up to the lounge. Easy to check in and a wide space with plenty of seating options. Power to be had for electronic devices and wifi easily accessible. The bar is the central star at this lunge with plenty of complimentary and pay options. Delta's SkyClub is probably the nicest airline club lounge at National. I was immediately struck by how friendly the staff at the front desk was and, as this was my first visit to the lounge, the desk agent got up, came around the counter, and gave me a quick tour, making sure I knew where everything was. In all my years of flying, I've never seen front desk staff actually come around the counter like that! The lounge is comfortable, with a variety of seating areas (some large rooms, some small nooks, and some desks). The breakfast offerings were far better than what the AA and UA lounges offer, with some healthy options including yogurt, fresh fruit, hard-boiled eggs, and oatmeal that you actually would want to eat! (I did, and it was surprisingly good.). I'm sure the experience varies depending on the time of day, but on this particular morning, a quick respite in the DCA SkyClub got the morning off to a nice start. read more

The newly remodeled Sky Club is spacious, well laid out, and exceptionally calm. A wide food selection, full bar and Starbucks machine make this a good place for a quick bite. I have been here many times to visit the DC area. This Delta Sky Club is located just beyond the TSA security check-point of the DCA Delta/United Terminal. There are two elevators to the upper level where the club is located. The club is similar to the many other Delta Sky Clubs. It is hit or miss depending upon your arrival. During bad weather this club is usually packed with people and the bar area becomes backed up when the club is crowded because the bar area is not that large compared to other club bars. That was not the case today on my way home. There was an average number of people at the club so I was able to find a seat at the raised counter overlooking the main terminal lobby area. The nicest and most unique thing about this club is that it is the only Delta or United club where they almost always offer a double shot rather than a single shot cocktail. They almost always ask. I guess our politicians really like to drink. Polyester tasting cheese, crackers, olives, hummus, pretzels, biscoffs cookies and various snack mixes are available during most of the day except for the morning. read more

Entire experience ruined by one employee who clearly sees me at the bar yet refuses to serve me. She goes to the other side of the bar after making direct eye contact with me and I'm sure she knows full well I have been there waiting longer than anyone else. She helps everyone on the other end. I walk to the other end. She goes yet to the opposite end and pretends to not see me. After waiting 15 minutes for no drink, I walk off while speaking within earshot of her and said "forget it". She wouldn't even raise her head. This is not a busy place. I have no doubt in my mind she simply doesn't want to serve me for some reason. It's ok for me to not get a drink - I would have served myself water. But there's no glasses left either. She needs to be fired ASAP. read more

Upon exiting security, right across from the benches, there is an elevator, or you can take the stairs, up a level to the club. Hands down, this club has one of the best downtown vie s, pending no fog. You can sit back and relax and gaze upon the Capital Building. Power outlets are some what limited throughout. Thought they do have a long high top table with single outlets at each seats. The seating areas are somewhat sectioned, but generously spacious. You are limited to primarily a single chair option like most clubs. They do have a full bar with a bartender, so depending on your taste/budget you can have the free options or pay for the good stuff. The reason I'm getting four stars and not five is because I came with a first-class domestic tickets and despite that front desk didn't let me in. So I have another way to the club entrance which is my business American Express Platinum. I have two American Express Platinum but none of them were with me. I showed the lady in the front desk a picture of my American Express Platinum and still she didn't let me in. I don't get it, if the person who wants to get to the club is an American Express Platinum holder and he proved that, why insisting of having the physical card? The two Delta reps took too long scanning people in because they were attempting to rectify a ticketing error with a passenger. Whew! Indeed, construction is under way here. It is a smaller club, but the staff here do work very hard to make it a nice place. They are very friendly and helpful, and the snacks aren't bad for a place under construction. I can't wait to see this place when the construction is done, this is a good location if you happen to get to the airport too early and need to wait somewhere for your flight. read more

When at concourse b at DCA, you finally have some good food options, such as a legit Cava Mezze Grill, but if solace and solitude are your main needs, the Sky Club above the concourse beckons. As far as Delta clubs go, this one is compact yet efficient. It's not labyrinthine and does lack some amenities, but the front desk agents are nice, the bathrooms are clean and stocked with Malin+Goetz products, and there are ample seating and workspace options. Internet connection is reliable but power outlets are tricky to come by. Don't come here for extensive food and booze options; there's just one small food service area with the requisite watery oatmeal and cardboard package hummus options, e.g. Rather than a free bar or honor bar, there's a traditional walk-up bar. Coffee is served via pots (supposedly brewed Starbucks) instead of the fresh-ground bean machines like at other clubs. Overall pleasant and average - could use some food/beverage upgrades, but quiet and removed from airport uproar. read more

But a nice view of downtown DC-at least the dome of the capitol and the river. Minus a star for the less than cozy seat arrangements and for it being jammed packed with bad breathed business men in their ill fitting suits all on their phones and constantly in the way.
