Now their insurance division is treating me like an absolute piece of crap. My car has been in the shop for over a week. Completely dishonest company, absolute fraud. Let me explain: I stopped in today to fill up my car, non-member price is advertised at $3.69. I used my Delta Sonic card and I am also a member, in addition they take the money directly from my checking account so that gets me an additional discount. In all I should of paid $3.39 a gallon instead of $3.69. I stopped pumping gas as soon as I discovered this. I had been awaiting to see when this location car wash was reopened. It's really only convenient if you are traveling and able to make a right into it. They updated the entrance to the wash to kinda zig zag a little (I am assuming to control the flow of traffic onto North Ave). I have the unlimited, but my reader never triggers the bar, so I usually go into the manual lanes at any delta sonic I go to. I got the interior of my car detailed last week and it looks great. It took a few hours but it was worth it for sure. It is a big place over there and it was hard to figure out where I needed to go. A beautiful new location, BUT, for the high price the car wash is just OK, and for the very high price the interior level has gone down quite a bit. Now for a very high price the interior cleaning is very basic, basically just floor mats and windows, and if you want the interior service they always used to do before, well now that is EXTRA COST. It seems to be hit or miss, you may go and have some energetic friendly young person do a really great job on your interior, and yet you may go and get some bad attitude slow moving kid who does a lousy job on your interior. 50-50 chance. Disappointing, and I will now be looking for other places to have that done. Still have some very good workers there, and unfortunately some new-age workers that don't care to do a great job. But hey, that's modern day post-Covid society, hard to get good workers with good attitudes these days. I just went through the interior and exterior experience. Very cool lights and good wash from the exterior experience. I asked an employee where i should turn bc the "follow the arrow sign" pointed to the interior wash garage but no one acknowledged my car and there was an orange cone to signal "don't come in here". The employee was so annoyed and said "follow the arrows". Ughhhh. So turns out you go through the interior was first and then turn right to go into the interior garage. We just started our membership this month. My car needed a good clean. I got in and a very nice employee asked if I was aware that my stripe (?) ended on Sept 1st? At this point I've grabbed all the trash out of my car and I'm trying to calm a 3 year old who is getting frustrated. 5-10 minutes go by. I've got 15 minutes before I need to be on my way to pick up my other kid. I ask what is going on over my screaming toddler. The friendly staff who greeted me is embarrassed and the supervisor is annoyed i exist. She tells me to walk over to her...so i do (with my screaming toddler. She says she is fixing some things. I ask if im good to have the wash done and try to explain it's my first time and i don't know how long to expect the process to take from start to finish. She says I'll be fine it will be done in 15. 15 minutes go by and my car is driven into the drying area. A employee walks towards me, no words. He holds out my keys. I wish I could give it 0 stars. Teresa the manager is horrible. I had one car ahead of me and a pick up truck in front of that car. They started unloading the contents of the pick up trucks bed while my car sat in the sun with presoak drying on it. Teresa told me she could get me out o pf the wash with dried soap on my car baking in the sun. Its a really really bad car wash I went once before and they did a very bad job of cleaning and wiping it down. I will never return and I urge everyone to stay away from that car wash. I complained to the corporate office and to date no one has returned my call. Obviously its bad from the top down!!! read more

I come here for my car washes. The people are nice and it's quick. It does get pretty busy during the weekend and especially during the winter season when people are trying to wash off the winter salt from their car. I would recommend to come early during the weekend for car washes cause I notice when you have your car dried off, they are so quick that they may miss a spot or two. I don't care much of the location off of a very busy street, North Ave. and rt 83. There's times it's hard to get in and out of the place...be aggressive, be, be aggressive crossing those roads! They have deals buy 2 get 1 free, so I take advantage of that. For gas, it's comparable from the other gas stations around. It does get cheaper if you get a car wash. If you join their email list, they will sometimes let you know their deals off of gas and/or car washes. This is my local place so I'll be back but most likely during the week nights or early AM weekends before I begin my errand runs! read more

The actual car was is awesome but the people running I it i mean come on guys! My sticker don't work, so I have to wait in the line where everyone is trying to sell a package. And every has to explain everything. The car wash It's self is great! And fast. But because you are trying to sell sell sell. You make people not want to wait, I sat there while 2 guys are taLking to guy in front of me for 9 mins! I counted 12 cars went around uS in fast line. And 6 people left due to tHe wait! Our car was totally covered in gooey lanternfly gunk after we'd had to park it under a tree for months at our old place. The first wash didn't get it all off so the guy drying off the car sent us through for a second wash with all the extras, free of charge. A guy who looked like the manager, Sergio, came out and gave us the royal treatment. Went above and beyond to personally spray down the car and help wipe it down at the end, spending a ton of extra time on extra gunky spots and the roof. My 1st time at Delta Sonic will definitely be my last. After going through the wash, the man who was supposed to dry my car pointed out that my car was not clean & that I would need to run it through again. I met the cashier to explain that I needed another wash & she said she knew! However, she never asked what part was not clean. I tried to point it out to her but she didn't listen. I ran it through again & it still was not clean. No one bothered to correct the issue. I paid $22 for a wash, ran it through twice & it's still not clean. Horrible! read more

I am an unlimited "super kiss" card member. I don't ever, EVER, buy subscription stuff like this but this is totally worth it. The staff is always friendly, the place is clean, the gas prices are GREAT, and I've never had one problem the car wash itself - no scrapes, scratches, or broken anything because of their car wash. The only reason this place does not get 4 stars...and I feel bad about this...is because it can be tricky getting in and out of this location. I live between this location and the Melrose Park location and I prefer the Melrose Park store because it is easier to get in and out. I'm not sure how they can address or fix this problem but there's gotta be some kind of solution. I skip washes, and I always pay for additional services, here because of the traffic problem and I see other people avoid this location too. read more

I'm done with this place after charging monthly subscription money X 2 ($33.32) for the only convenient-to-us car wash after closing down for at least 2 months for rebuilding. They never dry our cars properly and they don't clean interiors. No more. Ever. Many times I have had to go through a second time. The people who spray the front of your car before you enter the car wash don't give a rat's ass about their work. We called them when we discovered it was torn apart months ago. I asked, "When will the car wash be back in service?" They said "2 weeks!" What a lie. If you don't dry your car off by hand when the "crew" is done, it'll leave streaks that are hard to get rid of when dried out. You might not care. I do. This place is just terrible. *Update: Just researched through 25 pages of bad reviews and complaints at the Better Business Bureau site. Delta Sonic is a company with little or no regard for customers, service, or damage responsibilities. I will continue to try to get a refund for my last 2 months service in which no service within a reasonable distance near my location was provided, and dishonesty at the home office about the date of re-opening the North Ave. location. *Update II: The apology from Delta Sonic below means absolutely nothing to me. It is worthless. It is exactly the same type of response that Delta Sonic generated for each one of BBB complaints listed on their site. Run of the mill car wash it cleans your car better then alot of the other side of the road car washes. Here are the pros. Cleans your vehicle fairly well. It has multiple locations. The i unlimited monthly washes can sometimes be had for a real bargain. Cons. Employees sometimes rude. I hate when they tell you to keep pulling up leaving inches from hitting another car in the car wash! Superkiss is way to pricey. If your car gets damaged in the wash.. the will not do really anything to fix. That's just my opinion go check it out for yourself. read more

This is where you are supposed to get Super Kissed!!!!! Well, no offense to Delta Sonic, but for my money it's more about service and getting your car clean. Based on my time spent at Delta Sonic, this is what I've learned: 1 - There is always a heavy sell for "something": maybe it would help if they just listen to what the customer wants 2 - Heaven help you when you pull in and pull out; have your will in order, because "tight" is putting it mildly 3 - If you want your car rinsed thoroughly before it goes through the wash; you have to risk rolling down your window and getting nailed by the hose, if you want the attendant to listen to you 4 - Never, ever give the tip up front; unless you know the guy or gal whose about to do the drying. Sometimes it is necessary in life to teach others that tips are not as obligatory as breathing 5 - Check your car before you leave to make sure nothing is dangling from it after all is said and done; for some reason things come loose after a trip through the Super Kiss machine; too much pucker perhaps. All in all, and for the most part, it could be worse. But forewarned is forearmed. Mmwaahh!!! read more

Delta Sonic Car Wash - damaging cars and not taking responsibility since 1967. If your car is damaged here expect a hassle. I was offered a repair at Gerber (um, I'm in the car business and that is not a place that would be fixing my car) because they offer Delta Sonic substandard rates. Prevailing labor rates in the area are around $50 an hour and Delta Sonic pays $30. No reputable shop that doesn't cut corners is going to work for $30.00 an hour. Cutting corners on your car is how the shop makes up for low labor rates. My background is automotive and I have worked in shops long enough to know this. My options were 1) Have my car fixed at Gerber or 2) take a gift card for their detail department. "It never expires". La-dee-da. I wanted a check for the damage to my car and they refused. That is horrible and they're disregarding the fair claims settlement practices regulations. How can you damage someone's car and then dictate how they will handle their own property? The claims department people are unknowledgeable about laws and they're rude. They definitely belong in a car wash claims department because no reputable insurance company would employ such trash. They told me to use my own insurance and once the insurance tried to get the money from them they would say they weren't liable and there was no proof they damaged my car. They were willing to pay Gerber $1000 or give me a $650 gift card to the detail shop but won't reimburse my insurance for a proper repair? They are so scummy! I've been a long time customer and I will never go there again. I can't wait until the day a class action lawsuit is brought against them for deception and being unfair to customers when their car is damaged as a result of their car wash. *****update****** Kim's response is not truthful. Shawn left me a voicemail yesterday to tell me "since I haven't heard from you I assume you understand the process". He also said that there is a $1000 gift card coming my way for use only in their detail shop. I was NEVER offered a check for $650 and why do they get to pay me less than the $1000 damage Gerber estimated to my car anyway!!??? I also called customer service because I was mad at he told me I can go to a shop I choose but they would have to work for delta sonic substandard rates which brings me back to one of my original issues. The Elmhurst delta sonic car wash cracked my bumper of my new car 2 days after I purchased it in Dec.2011. I am still working on getting my car repaired, they agreed it was the car wash that damaged my bumper ($700 worth), but they are still approving me getting it fixed...almost 4 months later!! I call everyday and they give me the same "playing stupid" answer of "your claim is being processed, it'll only take another day". Trying to be helpful, they mailed me 2 super kiss washes.......I had the unlimited super kiss washes, but what good would they do me, besides damaging my car even more!!? They are making me jump through hoops just to get my car fixed..even though they agreed they damaged my vehicle. I cancelled my unlimited washes and will never get another car wash at this Delta Sonic- or any delta sonic car washes. A big ole MWAH! for the Delta Sonic Super Kiss car wash. Here's a handy tip: If you join their e-mail club, you get a free car wash! And it's that time of year where we should all be waxing up our babies and sealcoating them for the harsh winter ahead -- so you better believe I took advantage of that. (Note: You have to register your car, so no cheating.) But even if I were paying for the car wash here (and I have), it's worth it. For a drive-through wash it's pretty thorough, with the beginning soaping, brushless washing, undercarriage cleaning, wax & seal and nice touches at the end where they hand-dry your car and even use a nifty little air blower to get water out of your side-view mirrors. Worth noting: this Delta Sonic location also has a gas station and convenience store. Also, it's right on pretty busy North Ave., so some pro tips: if you're eastbound, stay in the far right lane -- it ends just *after* the turn-in to the car wash. And when exiting, don't be That Guy --if you can't safely and quickly turn left, just hang a right and go around the block. There's not a ton of room to wait. All in all, a great place to go to get your car spiffed up and ready for winter. read more

This isn't my favorite Delta location. I have the monthly membership and this location doesn't have a designated lane. There are only two lanes for the car wash and this causes a HUGE backup most days. Many times I've seen lines pile up on North Ave. Luckily, I was able to get in and out easily yesterday. I purchased $20 of gas and a basic wash on Sept. 21, 2019. The lady at the cash register has been there for quite a while. Always super-nice and efficient. However, two of the male staff members could not have been more rude on this visit. A small thing, but one of them walked right in front of me as I waited to pay. No "excuse me," no nothing. I'm pretty sure I'm not invisible. I'm also pretty sure that good customer service includes being polite. As my car began the basic wash, another employee yelled "HEY!" I didn't know what he wanted, what was wrong. I just knew I was being yelled at. Turns out I'd neglected to put my car in neutral as my car went through. Y'know, I'm human. I don't always remember everything all the time. I think the last time I had my car washed was about three months ago. So, no, putting my car in neutral wasn't top of mind for me. That doesn't mean I should be yelled at. Instead, perhaps a friendly reminder from the nice young man who took my receipt as I pulled up to the car wash? I may come back here to fill up my gas tank. But I'm done with car washes. And may I suggest that the owners/management look into some training in customer service for their male staff members. read more

Delta Sonic is a gas station not easy to get in and out of unless you happen to be traveling East on North Ave. I rarely get gas there because they're not 24 hrs and they don't open early. 6am would be nice, or just leave the pumps on so I can use my credit card before you open? I used to come to this location for my car washes during the week, but have since stopped and just drive the extra distance to Palatine. I always get car wash coupons for gifts (birthday/holiday) and I've had trouble using those at this location which was one issue for me. Considering they are bought at Delta Sonic, it's kind of annoying. Another was that it's really difficult to get out of Delta Sonic and turn left (West) on North Avenue. The biggest issue was the car washes - if I went 8 times in one month, one of the specials (body gloss, underwash etc.) would not be working. instead of sending me through again, doing it by hand or refunding me the difference, they questioned if I even knew what to look for when it wasn't working. Hello. I pay for body gloss, the light doesn't go on and nothing sprays for body gloss. Overall, the drying here was not that great either - they managed to scratch my car several times and would leave a tire out when doing the tire dressings. If you get a basic wash with nothing else for $5 (when they have those deals) it might be worth the $5 otherwise I'd rather just drive to Palatine to get a quality wash that I pay for and also to make sure my car doesn't get scratched. read more

Overpriced for exterior only service, but I've used it in a pinch for a quick wash. I agree with the others here, the quality of your prewash is variable, and the drying is done with dirty towels. Though, i probably won't visit again after my experience with the "manager". I was ready to sign up for monthly package, but had a question regarding the semi-permanent sticker they force you to put on your car. If it's not on the windshield, then you have to put in on your door jamb. If in the door jamb, then you can't use the automated lane, you go through the regular lane and they check your license plate. So then I asked the obvious question of why you would need the sticker then in that case? Some bearded dude then came over, stood aggressively next to my car and launched into some condescending speech about the free market. Thanks but no thanks. I stop here weekly for gas & a wash. I did the same today but this time my 2016 ILX wouldn't start. The manager Frank Chavez came out right away, checked my battery, then charged it enough so I could get it started. He wouldn't accept anything for his help & stayed close until Remi from Just Tires Elmhurst drive over with a battery replacement (also well above the 'call of duty'). Honestly, if I could give this place a Zero I would . Better off driving a couple miles east on north Abe to the one in melrose park Came here especially to get an indoor cleaning. THERES NO INDOOR CLEANING AT THIS LOCATION. As I didn't know this until I got to the cashier, there was no way I could back up or exit. Therefore, I practically had to buy the car wash. It was a decent wash until this aggressive harassing man was trying to cut me off in line to get in the wash and almost crashed into my side. Tight and crammed is no joke at this small location. I selected a car wash while at the gas pump. Biggest mistake. I ended up selecting SK which stands for a super kiss and it was $21. All I wanted was a touchless and when I pulled up to the car wash they could not help me. They wanted me to go into the shop and have it credited which is nearly impossible with a long line of cars behind me. So I ultimately had to pay for a touchless to run my car through and spend more money. It is ridiculous that the gas pumps and the car wash are not in sync. read more

I like that they pre-spray your car before you enter the wash, however it does depend on the personnel pre-spraying your car that day and what mood they're in? ( It helps to wave and be friendly) . The remodel is just bad for a lack of a better word. This place just doesn't have the Real Estate to reorganize, and the prices charged are steep for an outside wash only. I would go 2-3 times a week, as I just can't stand a dirty car, I stopped going all together after I noticed my new car received about $500 worth of damage. So, now I drive a little further pay $9.00 more for a complete hand wash, inside and out with no damage. read more
