This journey with my lower extremities has been extremely difficult for me a lot of trauma and while I'm in pain seeking help there's no room for jokes and games and mockery of my pain and my condition. I left with more questions than answers I felt like it was a joke or I wasn't taking serious. My pain wasn't taken serious. This is THE BEST physical therapy office I've ever used! Much better than my experience at other…read moresites even (---ford) which didn't seem to know how to accommodate a person with my needs. Having RRMS with intermittent ataxia makes PT a challenge, if you don't know how to work with this kind of situation. First off, Sherry was fantastic at finding a spot for me. I had to wait a month because they're so busy but she worked to secure my appointments for the first 10appts! That's fantastic as I don't have to ask week to week regarding my next appt. Both Lindsey and Greg are amazing. They know what they're doing and the work to address specific client needs rather than pulling out the "cookie cutter" approach. This is important to me because though I'm apparently the first patient with my challenge, you wouldn't know it by their skill in helping me to train my hair even during a flare up. I'm a super fan of the ultrasound and ice with e-stem to alleviate any soreness from the PT. An added bonus is that the office is located inside Delta Valley Gym. I'm able to work on the recommended exercises myself, before or after a PT session and not leave the building! We're members of the gym anyway but the PT offers a month free at the gym if you're not already a member.

As for my therapy, I've worked with both Lindsay and Emma. Both are very knowledgeable and fun to engage. Taking the time to answer any and all questions that I toss their way. They said they didn't know what caused it, but that it definitely was not caused by the treatment they had given me. Both Dr. Pillai and Dr. Tong remained hostile toward me because I doubted their professional opinion. I have a new oncologist now. All of my doctors now attribute my new diabetes as a side effect from cancer treatment. I was right. It was obvious. These two doctors are some very disturbed men who become aggressive and adversarial if their poor skills are questioned and the poor skills do abound. I am convinced I would be dead if I had continued to be treated by Epic Care in Antioch. I swear that I am speaking the truth. If you value your life then you need to stay away from these strange men.

My dad was fatigued at the appointment and confused due to some medicine. My mom accompanied him to assist him and Dr Pillai ignored her, belittled her, and yelled at her multiple times. He only wanted to talk to my dad and yet interrupted him when he spoke slowly. When my mom told Dr Pillai to not interrupt my dad he became irritable. He rudely shushed my mom various times when she was asking reasonable questions about possible treatment and timelines. I was on the phone on the other line listening to everything. English is not my mom's first language and she was trying her utmost best to understand him but he was completely unpleasant and exclaimed that he won't change his personality to accommodate patients. He yelled "We're done here!" at both my parents. Either Dr Pillai is misogynist, xenophobic, or just hates his patients. If you're thinking of going to Epic Care please look for other options or at least try to be assigned to a different doctor. Cancer is hard and heartbreaking, there's absolutely no need at all for your oncologist, of all people, to make things worse.

During the appointment, the doctor sits across the room and most of the 15 minutes is spent with the doctor fooling around with the computer app and was more concerned with getting a POLST form filled out. She ordered lab work based on my meds. I asked for a urine test--she said they are no longer automatically part of the Wellness exam--I requested the test. My lab results had some issues and they were not properly addressed by the doctor. I called the office, wanting to talk to the doctor, but she does not take phone calls so the front desk gave me a phone appointment with the PA. The PA said I must talk to the Dr. who ordered the lab work. So, now, I have to wait another month to talk with the Dr. At least the PA did order the additional lab work. Prior to this experience, there have been issues with meds and referrals. I guess if you have no health issues, this type of care would work for you.

I let her know that my insurance was a JMPN HMO plan and that I was going to call my insurance to have them post date the change of PCP for 3/1/24 since I'm currently under the care of another physician and cannot NOT have a PCP in the interim. She said that I needed to call and do that first before she could schedule me (why she scheduled me already before verifying is beyond me) she then said that the insurance needed to send them a letter with the reference number. I asked to speak with the office manager at that point and she said she would have her call me back. I then received a call from Amanda who was so rude. She said that it's her office policy that they cannot schedule until the PCP is changed on the card, even though Sela said that the insurance can post date it. She said that it's in the best info the office to do it that way. What about what's in the best interest of the patient?!! What horrible patient care. So a patient can't have a PCP while they wait a month if they have HMO insurance if you want to schedule with them. How does that even make sense. And like I said, I'm currently under the care of a physician for a medical condition and cannot be without a PCP for a month. She then said that her doctor would not treat my medical condition and that their office doesn't agree with disability. She says her doctors will only sign for disability for 2 weeks and that's it. Hmm for someone who is not a physician she was quick to diagnose and tell me what treatment I needed. I cannot believe that the doctor would refuse a medical necessity and I cannot believe that they have such a rude office manager. She also says that she's the manager so she makes the office rules and she made that policy. I asked to speak with the doctor and she said that she wouldn't take my call and that I could email. She then said "I actually don't think I even want to give you her email." So unprofessional. She then said "I'm going to hang up now because we won't be able to have you as a patient." Wow, just wow!
